Wednesday.
Tang Qing received a call from Liu Qian in the morning, saying that the store matter was settled. He also sent him two addresses and the contact information of the responsible people there.
He took some time at noon to visit the two stores and was very satisfied. Since both places were previously running jewelry stores, they could save on renovation costs. With a bit of tidying up, they could be opened for business.
The locations of the two places were both bustling areas, a little over a kilometer apart. The conditions of both were almost alike, which was a good thing. Whichever one the two families chose wouldn’t put either at a disadvantage.
However, to Tang Qing’s surprise, one of the stores turned out to be Dream Melody Jewelry. He heard rumors that the store had been operating normally a few days ago, then suddenly announced yesterday that they were ’moving’ places. Even the staff of Dream Melody group clearing out the store didn’t know where they were moving to. Hearing the occasional complaints from the staff, Tang Qing couldn’t help but force a bitter smile - was this undermining his own corner?
Liu Qian really ’knew’ how to get things done.
He had to praise Liu Qian for his good work.
...
Thursday.
Tang’s father, mother, and uncle came back from the worship early in the morning. They had also tied up the store’s leasing matters with the Lin family. After some arrangements and hiring a few hands, all that remained was to wait for the goods to arrive from his uncle’s side.
Evening.
The Tang family and his uncle’s family arrived at Liu Qian’s villa. After the pleasantries, everyone took their seats. As the dishes were still being served, they chatted to get acquainted.
"Where does Boss Tang conduct his business?" Liu Qian asked curiously. This was his biggest question for the dinner. He’d previously heard that Tang Qing’s uncle was in the jewelry business overseas. Instinctively, he linked the foreign exchange to this mysterious uncle. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain how a high school student like Tang Qing had the audacity to get involved in the currency exchange business. Hence, Tang Qing and his backer surely had a special relationship.
"I run a jewelry business in Bangkok. I plan to enter the domestic market shortly. I hope for Liu’s support when the time comes," Tang Kai politely replied.
"Oh? Which company? Maybe I know it," Liu Qian asked further.
"It’s a small company, called Kaihua Jewelry Group in Bangkok." Tang Kai said with a laugh.
Liu Qian was taken aback, "Kaihua Jewelry Group?"
"You know it, Mr. Liu?" Tang Kai wondered, he hadn’t done business with Liu Qian yet.
Liu Qian gave a bitter smile, "Of course, I know. It’s Thailand’s third-largest jade and jewelry wholesaler. Many of our group’s suppliers get their goods from your company."
He hadn’t expected that Tang Qing’s uncle would be the owner of the Kaihua Jewelry Group. Although Tang Kai’s assets certainly weren’t as much as his, he was the ’dominant force’ in his field. He’d heard about the company’s ’background’, aware only of the significant military force backing it, unaware that the Wei Family who’d been driven away was behind it.
"Haha, I didn’t know Liu was in the same business. It seems we can cooperate in the future," Tang Kai laughed loudly.
"Yes," Liu Qian nodded. Consolidating the supply chain of Dream Melody Group was his next step. Now with Tang Kai’s connection, the next step would be a much smoother process.
...
A few minutes later, all the dishes were served, and everyone took their places. Four servers, transferred from the Tianfu Hotel, attended to everyone with great care, still in their uniforms.
As bodyguards, Monkey, Gangzi, and two fighters finished their meals early and were on alert. But Monkey and Gangzi were not as vigilant as the two fighters. For Monkey and Gangzi, the Tang family posed virtually no threat. They wouldn’t stir up trouble here, but for the two fighters, everyone besides the protected target presented potential threats that warranted constant vigilance.
The two fighters did not talk nor rest, so Monkey and Gangzi didn’t feel like sitting on the sofa.
This was a silent competition.
Seeing Monkey glance intently at the two fighters, Gangzi curiously asked, "Monkey, what’s up? Is there something wrong with the two of them?"
"Not just something, but a lot. Those two...are strong." Monkey said solemnly. Even though the two fighters had emotionless faces, their indifferent and tranquil expressions made him very uncomfortable. Especially during the occasional eye contact. Every exchange made his hair stand on end, giving him the feeling of prey being watched.
Gangzi gave the fighters another look after hearing this, and asked curiously, "Strong? How so? They may be tall, but they’re not as muscular as I am."
Monkey glared at him and disdainfully said, "I can’t communicate with you."
Gangzi was not upset after hearing this, spun his eyes around, and said cheerfully, "Do you want to spar with them?"
"Yes, but this isn’t the place. And I heard they’re leaving the day after tomorrow." Monkey admitted. It was improper to spar with someone else’s bodyguard under such circumstances. Yet, he was itching for a fight. Once they left, there was no telling when they’d meet again.
"What’s the difficulty in that? Go greet them, make friends, and invite them to spar in a private room," Gangzi said casually. He thought Monkey was quite a martial arts nerd. Whatever he wanted to do, he should make it known, could he just wait for the chance to arise?
