Chapter 264: Chapter 220: A One-Sided Battle (Please Subscribe!)_2

"True enough," Monkey nodded, isn’t that right? At least everyone should get acquainted first, he didn’t even know their names yet.

Then, Monkey casually strolled over to one of the fighters, smiling and saying, "Hello."

The fighter turned to look at Monkey, his face emotionless as always as he replied, "Hello, may I help you?"

Despite the courtesy in the fighter’s words, Monkey could still sense the underlying ’stay away from me’ attitude. It was clear the fighter didn’t want to be bothered.

"I want to befriend you, and also spar with you," Monkey declared, unfazed by the fighter’s dismissive tone. It’s typical for strong warriors to be a bit short-tempered, and he was no different. He treated people who were of no significance to him the same way.

Monkey thought the fighter would agree, but instead he responded, "Sorry, not interested."

Not interested?

What kind of response was that?

Monkey’s mouth twitched at the corners. 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶

"You..." Monkey was momentarily at a loss for words, taken aback by the fighter’s bluntness. Then he asked, "Why?"

"It’s not within my duties," the fighter replied curtly.

"..."

Monkey was rendered speechless. Was this guy too rigid, or was he looking down on him?

However, he also felt a deep respect for the fighter’s professional conduct.

At that moment, Liu Qian also noticed Monkey talking to the fighter. But Monkey seemed rather flustered, which prompted Liu Qian to ask, "Monkey, what’s wrong?"

Upon hearing Liu Qian, it drew the attention of everyone else.

With everyone’s eyes on him, Monkey quickly explained, "Nothing much, Boss Liu. I thought our friend here seemed rather formidable. The old itch to spar has returned."

Liu Qian nodded in understanding at Monkey’s reply, turning to Tang Kai with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that, my bodyguard is a martial arts fanatic. He can’t resist a good spar when he comes across someone powerful."

"No worries. My bodyguard is the same. It’s good to maintain such wild spirits instead of just training with a sandbag, as if it’s fitness exercise," Tang Kai chuckled.

Liu Qian then glanced at the two silent fighters before asking Tang Kai, "Where did you find such bodyguards, Boss Tang?"

"It wasn’t me who found them, but a domestic friend... After I returned to the country, they sent them over as my old bodyguards were still in Bangkok," Tang Kai replied. Without Tang Qing’s permission, he dared not mention his ’mighty and influential’ friend.

"How about we let them spar? Monkey rarely finds a good sparring mate. Looks like your bodyguard is really impressive. Do tell him to hold back though, ha ha," Liu Qian suggested upon hearing Tang Kai’s explanation. On one hand, he wanted to lend Monkey a helping hand as his boss. On the other hand, he was curious about the capabilities of these bodyguards.

Tang Kai looked at Tang Qing and, seeing him nod slightly in approval, agreed, "Well... fine, but they must only spar lightly, no injuries."

Seeing Tang Kai indulge him, Liu Qian turned to Monkey, saying enthusiastically, "Alright, Monkey, did you hear that? Boss Tang has agreed, but remember, it’s just for practice. Got it?"

Monkey nodded avidly, looking eager to start.

However, the fighter still remained utterly expressionless, which annoyed Monkey greatly.

"Just make it light, no one must get hurt," Tang Kai added.

The fighter nodded, then looked at Tang Kai and asked, "How long should it take to defeat him?"

This question made more than a few faces twitch - it was clear from his tone that he looked down on Monkey, and everyone could hear it. This irked Liu Qian, who found the fighter too pretentious. In fact, everyone except Tang Qing found the fighter’s arrogance displeasing.

"Well, just try your best not to hurt him," Tang Kai tried to liven up the awkward situation. He didn’t blame these fighters though. In the past few days, he had come to understand that they were true professionals. He knew nothing about their combat abilities, but their attitude and alertness were streets ahead of his bodyguards in Bangkok. These were the kind of bodyguards who would literally take a bullet for him. A few harsh words didn’t mean a thing.

Tang Qing was about to intervene, but stopped himself. He also wanted to show his strength in front of Liu Qian. Right now, he suspected Liu Qian thought he knew everything about Tang Qing’s family, which wasn’t a good situation. He might as well give Liu Qian something to think about.

After that, both of them went outside to start. The rest of the group put down their chopsticks and followed them out to watch.

The two reached an open space by the villa’s entrance.

Then they squared off against each other.

Three meters apart.

"Please," Monkey assumed a free fighting pose.

"Can we start?" asked the fighter, with an indifferent tone, standing with his hands dropped at his side. Monkey found this annoying. Was the fighter looking down on him? He didn’t even bother to take a fighting stance.

"Sure," Monkey replied.

...

Just as he finished talking, Monkey felt a blur before his eyes, a wave of pain surged from his chest, and his view of the surroundings instantly changed.

"Bang..."

Monkey directly flew back, landing on the lawn.

So fast.

This was Monkey’s only feeling. Besides this, he didn’t feel much pain in his chest, indicating that his opponent had great control over his strength.

Such terrifying control, something he himself could never achieve.

Monkey took a deep breath, calmed his nerves, slowly stood up, and once again approached the fighter. Adopting his previous pose, he preferred to believe he had let his guard down earlier.

He would take the initiative to attack this time.

"Hey..." Monkey yelled, swinging his fist at the fighter.

Seeing the fighter still expressionless, Monkey felt humiliated, and exerted even more force—faster, almost at full strength. He believed that even the fighter would have to take him seriously.

However, just as Monkey’s fist was about to touch the fighter’s face, a hand tightly grabbed his wrist, stopping any forward motion. Before Monkey could react, the fighter twisted his arm, moved behind Monkey, and grabbed his other hand. Monkey tried to break free, but the fighter’s strength made resistance impossible, and he lifted his knee to Push against Monkey’s spine.

Subdued, Monkey blanked out for a moment.

Two seconds later.

The fighter released his arms, took two steps back, clearly indicating that if he had applied a little more force, Monkey could have ended up with broken arms, or a fractured spine leading to paralysis.

On being let go, Monkey took a deep breath, a hint of fear flickering in his eyes. But, of course, he didn’t want to admit defeat so easily.

"Again," Monkey shouted loudly.

After saying that, Monkey stood up, turned around, with madness in his eyes, and landed a powerful roundhouse kick. However, the fighter just deflected it gently with his hand, caught Monkey’s leg, and threw him back to the ground.

Monkey stood up, watching the fighter’s expressionless face cautiously. He finally understood one thing—the opponent was simply toying with him. Monkey had no control over the situation from start to finish. With such speed and power, the fighter could kill him in no more than two moves.

Two moves?

Thinking of this, Monkey couldn’t help but laugh bitterly.

He thought he was quite powerful, capable of enduring several rounds against a top soldier. But he didn’t expect to be easily defeated by a bodyguard. And this was just one of them; how powerful might the other one be? He must be equally formidable.

Where did these super freaks come from? Who would have such high-level bodyguards for personal protection?

Monkey was confused. What kind of person was worth such high-level bodyguards? Even the bodyguards of Zhongnanhai probably wouldn’t be much better.

Liu Qian on the side was also shocked. He was well aware of Monkey’s strength. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been his personal bodyguard for so many years. But with such considerable strength, Monkey was utterly defenseless against Tang Kai’s bodyguard. The bodyguard had merely defended himself and hadn’t even seriously attacked yet. He didn’t dare to imagine the consequences if he did.

Similarly shocked were Tang Kai and Qin Yugang—Tang Kai was surprised at the strength of his bodyguard, while Qin Yugang was astonished that even the top soldiers in the army might not be as strong. He came from the army and had seen many top soldiers, but with such strength, those top soldiers might not be able to beat the man in front of him. He was curious what sort of background Tang Kai’s friend had.

As for the others, they just watched the exciting spectacle.
