Chapter 301: Chapter 244: ’The Omnipotent’ Fighter (Please subscribe!) _1

Liu Qian and Chai Ren chatted for about ten minutes. When it was almost time, they rose to check in their luggage and go through security. In no time, they boarded their flight. Both being affluent, they sat in first class.

The ’professional etiquette’ of the fighter sparked a competitive spirit in Chai Ren’s two bodyguards. They tried to maintain the same level of alertness as the fighter, however, it was impossible for a human being to be constantly aware of everything around them for a prolonged period of time. Even the special forces who are used to such rigor wouldn’t last long.

As predicted, they were completely exhausted in just one hour. Their bodies were fine, it was their spirits that were drained.

A sense of irritation gradually crept into their minds. Their heads felt bloated, a signal from the brain rejecting to process so much information. Had it been focusing on a favorite task or a person, things would have been different. But, this required surveillance of everyone, and repeating this constantly was tiring.

Once the typical bodyguards ascertain that the people around them pose no threat, they relax their vigilance. For example, they knew Liu Qian meant no harm to Chai Ren, so they paid little attention to him. Even the Central Guards couldn’t always guard against family and relatives of the person they were protecting or other leaders. They were unable to maintain the level of skepticism towards everyone, just like the fighters.

Of course, Tang Qing was an exception. All the exchanged fighters had absolute trust in the commander and ensured the highest security to him. If Tang Qing and Tang Kai were both in danger, the fighters would definitely prioritize Tang Qing’s safety - an unchangeable rule and fundamental action principle of the fighters.

The whole trip left them in awe of this bodyguard they had hired for two million yuan. Even on the airplane for a dozen of hours, the fighter never let his guard down. His eyes were always surveying those around him, and even when approached by Chai Ren, he showed little interest and maintained his formal responses: I don’t know and keep your distance.

Seeing this, Chai Ren was left powerless. No matter how skilled the bodyguards were, they showed respect after discovering his identity. However, this fighter did not even acknowledge him, treating him like a regular pedestrian. Chai Ren had never experienced this kind of treatment before. It wasn’t anger he felt, but novelty.

Such an ’extraordinary’ journey it was.

The next day.

New York, USA.

The weather was clear, and the sky was cloudless.

The airplane, after flying for over a dozen hours, landed at New York’s Kennedy International Airport.

It was after midnight in China, but it was noon time here. People had just finished their morning work. As one of the busiest airports in the world, it was inevitably crowded.

The group collected their luggage and left the airport.

They flagged down two taxis.

That’s right, no one was there to pick them up. Although they had been in the United States before, they had no businesses here. They did have a number of friends but given the constraints for time and not wanting to be a burden, the plan was to take taxis for now.

"Mr. Liu, let’s take one cab. We’ll sit in the back, and Brother Yuan will sit in the front." suggested Chai Ren. Like Liu Qian, he too felt safe around the fighter despite not being his protection target.

His words made his two bodyguards smile wryly. Back in China, they were elite guards. They had served as bodyguards for provincial, ministerial, and other top-ranked officials, or as guards for key institutions. Once proud of their professionalism, now in comparison with this freakishly professional fighter, they were beginning to feel more like amateurs.

"Okay." Liu Qian agreed, laughing. "Monkey, you take the taxi at the back, and tell the driver to follow our car."

"Okay, Mr. Liu." Monkey answered, nodding.

Everyone got into the cars.

The fighter sat beside the driver, his gaze steady.

"Brother, take us to a good car rental dealership. We don’t want an average car." Chai Ren spoke in English to the black driver. Having studied abroad in America for two years and having travelled the world, communicating in English was not a problem for him. He also knew a few other mainstream languages. However, he was not familiar with New York because he went to school in Washington.

"No problem." The black driver answered, showing a bright smile. A cunning smile took over his eyes, but no one noticed. He encountered such situations almost daily. The usual move was to guide them to a familiar car rental dealership, and thus, earn an ’extra buck’.

The car started towards the city, and the following car kept pace.

Liu Qian and Chai Ren chatted as they drove on.

"Mr. Liu, after our work here is done, I’ll take you to meet a friend. He owns a vast farm with an assortment of weapons. We can go hunting there. Especially the wild boars - one bullet, one pig. It’s definitely exciting." Chai, rather excited, told Liu about his love for firearms.

"Oh? That sounds great. I will surely give it a try." Liu Qian responded with a smile. In China, even a high-ranking individual like him could only have access to handguns. More advanced weapons were out of question.

"Rest assured, Mr. Liu. This time, we’ll have a great time. Last year, when I was in Congo, Africa, I got to try the anti-tank..." Chai Ren was in the middle of his sentence when the fighter cut him off.
