Chapter 317: Chapter 258 - One Man Guards the Pass, Authorized (Subscribe please!)_2

How did you manage to develop such a strong mental fortitude?

Or have you decided to give up?

"Brother Yuan, you were the first to spot these wolves. Do you have a solution?" Liu Qian suddenly asked. He refused to believe that this fighter could be so obtuse; he must have a plan or a solution in mind.

As soon as Liu Qian finished speaking, everyone else pricked up their ears to listen.

However, what the fighter said next nearly frightened them to death.

"Kill them."

Blank looks spread across everyone’s faces, and they thought, are you sure you haven’t lost your mind?

Kill these wolves?

Are you joking?

There are almost two hundred of them.

Are you sure you’re giving a suggestion?

Have your martial arts training fried your brain?

"Brother Yuan, there are too many wolves. We can’t kill them all," Liu Qian said with a wry smile. His suggestion was no different from not saying anything at all. If they could kill all the wolves, why would they even consider asking for his advice?

"There are 213 adult wolves in total, not a lot. Moreover, nearly half of them are somewhat starving. So there is an 86% chance that they will launch an all-out attack at us. We have no choice," the fighter said calmly.

The fighter’s assertion that the number of wolves was "not a lot" was purely relative to his own limit. After all, a fighter is not omnipotent. His physical body is not made of iron; if bitten, he would still get wounded and lose flesh. But just two hundred would do, both the fighter himself and the arithmetic in the command room agreed that it wasn’t a problem. This was inclusive of ensuring Liu Qian’s safety.

The fighter’s confidence primarily stemmed from the existence of Little Two’s highly abnormal auxiliary functionality. However, if the number of wolves exceeded three hundred, that would be a dangerous figure. At that level, even the fighter would not guarantee to keep Liu Qian safe.

However, the others didn’t know.

Upon hearing the alarming number of wolves reported by the fighter, they swallowed their saliva—213 wolves, are you a human computer?

Moreover, you think over two hundred isn’t a lot? How many do you want?!?

At this life-or-death moment, they were quite irritated with this ’braggart’ of a fighter.

"But Brother Yuan..." Liu Qian wanted to say something, but then, the alpha wolf let out a loud howl, and the other wolves began to howl in response.

"Woof..."

"Woof..."

"..."

Everyone immediately realized that whether it was 13% or 87%, they were about to find out.

The next action of the wolves sunk their hearts into an abyss.

It was the 87% that came true.

The entire pack of wolves began to charge at them without hesitation, not showing the slightest sign of probing— they were all in.

What the hell! This is irrational, why don’t you follow the normal rules? Why a total assault? This is downright bad luck!

Everybody was cursing in their hearts.

"Fire..." Qi Tian shouted, pulling the trigger right after. Bullets rained on the charging wolves, the wolf leading the charge was shot and thrown backward instantly.

"Da da da..."

"Bang..."

"..."

The bodyguards opened fire at the pack of wolves. Even Liu Qian and others pulled out their guns, consistently pulling their triggers at the charging wolves. Right now, Mu Jian desperately wished he had a Gatling gun to mow down these wolves. Even though they were in America, procuring such a weapon wasn’t easy. At least, he didn’t own one, having only played with it in the club.

The fighter still didn’t draw his weapon. He only kept his eyes fixed in the direction of the alpha wolf. At this point, the alpha wolf had hidden itself behind the pack and was moving swiftly as if to protect itself. Smart and dreadful. Though the bodyguards couldn’t differentiate which wolf was the alpha, once the alpha was tagged by the command room, it would have no place to hide.

"Brother Yuan, what are you doing? Start shooting!" Qi Tian, noticing the fighter ’spacing out’, said anxiously.

"I am looking for the alpha wolf," the fighter explained rarefully.

"With so many wolves, how can you distinguish which one is alpha? If only we had known, we should’ve taken action earlier and killed the alpha wolf," Qi Tian regretted. They should’ve struck as soon as the fighter mentioned the 87% percent figure and directly eliminated the alpha, it could have perhaps acted as a deterrence.

"Brother Yuan, you..." Liu Qian was at a loss of words. The fighter continued to be uncooperative even in such a crisis. All he could do was flash a bitter smile, although the fighter’s inexplicable calmness gave him some hope.

Just then, the fighter suddenly pulled out his gun and at an astonishing speed, he fired a shot into the distance.

A moan echoed, and the wolves seemed to become even more frenzied.

"What happened?" a frantic Liu Qian asked.

"The alpha wolf is dead, but they’ve chosen a new alpha almost instantly," the fighter remarked calmly, putting his pistol down.

"That’s impossible," Mu Jian exclaimed. He knew that a new alpha wolf could not be elected without a fierce battle. How could they just immediately choose, it was upending his understanding.

The fighter ignored Mu Jian, whether it was possible or not wasn’t a matter for the fighter to consider, and they also didn’t have time. Although twenty or thirty wolves had already been killed by now, there were still too many left, and the closest pack was already within a five-meter distance.

They had no route of retreat and could only shrink their circle of defense gradually. Take to the water? That was the last resort, and although they were beside a lake, it didn’t mean the water wasn’t deep. Judging from its color, the lake could not be shallower than a meter.

The circle of defense kept shrinking. The fighter who initially stood behind the bodyguards was now pushed into the frontlines.

The fighter didn’t retreat.

He fired another shot into the distance.

"Bang..."

Two seconds later, another moan echoed. At this point, the command room finally made a judgement. It was not realistic to solve the current crisis by just killing the alpha wolves. The command room, for a moment, was also taken aback by how the wolves could immediately select a new alpha after the previous one was killed. Maybe something was wrong with this pack of wolves? A gene mutation? However, this question was irrelevant to the command room. What mattered was finding a solution to deal with them.
