Chapter 49: Chapter 47: Slaughter the Local Tyrant (Recommendations Sought!)_1
Before long.
The group arrived at the hotel entrance.
The doorman had already noticed Tang Qing and his companions. Regardless of the fact that they arrived in a taxi, he showed no disdain. As staff of a five-star hotel, their training was excellent in this respect.
Especially the doorman.
As the first contact point with guests.
Both their character and interpersonal skills had extremely strict requirements.
"Good day, sir. Do you have a reservation?" The doorman asked as he approached.
Tang Qing shook his head.
He didn’t even know the phone number, how could he possibly make a reservation?
Seeing Tang Qing shake his head,
The doorman couldn’t help but frown a little. This was the peak consumption period, and their hotel was the only five-star hotel in the city. It would be challenging to find a suitable space without a reservation.
The doorman hesitated for a moment.
"In that case, sir, please go to the lobby and check with the reception desk to see if there are any suitable places left."
"Alright," Tang Qing said with a smile.
Having said that,
He walked straight into the hotel.
"Please follow me."
The doorman had already relayed through the walkie-talkie that Tang Qing and his friends did not have a reservation.
The receptionist didn’t even ask.
After all, it would be annoying to ask the guests at every stage of the reception process. She then led Tang Qing to the reception desk. As for whether these student-like people could find a place, it was none of her business.
"Hello there, welcome to the Tianfu Hotel. How can I assist you today?" The receptionist, dressed in a professional black outfit, slightly bowed and greeted with a smile. She maintained a standard and pleasant posture. Tang Qing couldn’t help but exclaim, the big hotel was indeed different. Her monthly salary must be about five to six thousand.
"We want to have a meal."
"Would you like Chinese or Western cuisine?" The receptionist asked with a smile.
"What about you guys?" Tang Qing turned around and asked.
"Chinese food." Li Kai thought for a moment before answering.
He didn’t know how to eat Western food.
He had heard that eating Western food was quite complicated, and he couldn’t be bothered to lose face.
"Let’s have Chinese food then. I’ve tried Western food a few times, but I can’t get used to it." Wang Yan said. She also did not like Western cuisine. Although it looked upscale and elegant, overall, it gave her a pretentious vibe.
"Then let’s have Chinese food. Do you have a larger private room?" Tang Qing asked.
"I’m sorry, all of our Chinese dining rooms are already booked. Please understand," apologized the receptionist.
Tang Qing smiled.
Without saying much, he directly took out his wallet and pulled out the diamond card that Liu Qian had given him. He handed it over, firm in his belief that the hotel must have some rooms reserved. This was standard practice.
Of course.
Even if there genuinely weren’t any available, they could find a way to make it happen. Even eating in a KTV room is still technically a private room. There were numerous ways to solve this issue in such a large hotel.
The receptionist looked at the card, taken aback.
A memory sprung into her mind – the group’s diamond card.
"Please wait a moment." She said as she picked up the walkie-talkie. "Manager, we have a diamond VIP guest here. Please come to the front desk." After she finished, she turned to Tang Qing and said respectfully, "Sir, our lobby manager will be right here."
Within twenty seconds,
Tang Qing heard quick approaching footsteps.
A beautiful woman wearing a supervisor’s uniform walked over. After taking the diamond card from Tang Qing and confirming its authenticity, she respectfully asked, "Are you Mr. Tang?"
Tang Qing was taken aback.
He asked, "Do you know me?"
The beautiful manager smiled and said, "When our group issues each card, we notify all managers about the titles of high-level VIPs. Each card has a serial number, so we can match them."
"Serial number? What serial number?" Tang Qing frowned.
"See the ’eight’ here." The Lobby Manager handed the card back and explained.
Tang Qing took the card and examined it closely.
There really was an ’eight’ at the bottom left corner.
The color was grey and wasn’t noticeable against the black background of the card, so he hadn’t paid close attention. Up until now, his focus had been on the small diamonds circling the card.
"So that’s it, I never paid attention to it," Tang Qing said, feel somewhat embarrassed.
"Mr. Tang, to be honest, our General Manager Liu visited our hotel a few days ago. He strongly urged us to treat you the same way we treat him if you were to visit, with the greatest enthusiasm and highest level of service."
Tang Qing smiled and asked, "What is your... sister’s surname?"
The lobby manager blushed when he called her "sister" and said softly, "Oh no, not at all, Miss Qiu, my name is Qiu Lan."
"Qiu Lan?" Tang Qing repeated. It sure was a rare surname, seeking a man, could there be some implications? Whatever, none of his business, Tang Qing shrugged off these silly thoughts.
Then Tang Qing took the diamond card from Qiu Lan, placed it carefully back into his wallet, and asked again, "Sister Lan, my classmates and I came here for a meal, are there any private rooms available?"
Without a moment’s hesitation, Qiu Lan said,
"Yes, we will arrange the largest private room for you right away. It is not open to outside guests, and only the chairman has used it since our opening earlier this year. This is the first time we welcome such an esteemed guest, this way please?"
After she finished speaking she took the walkie-talkie, "Ninth floor, open the Qiankun Pavilion room."
"Received!"
Tang Qing nodded and said, "Alright, you arrange it."
Immediately.
Qiu Lan personally led Tang Qing and his friends to the ninth floor.
After a roundabout route, they ended up in the Qiankun Pavilion and sat down.
It must be said that.
It deserved to be a superfine private room not open to the public.
The entire room covered an area of at least 230 square meters. The decoration was beyond amazing. It was incredibly luxurious, equipped with karaoke facilities, a separate toilet and reception area, a mahjong table, and much more. It had everything.
A massive dining table.
It could easily accommodate twenty people.
At this time, attendants were already waiting within the room. Tea and beverages were also prepared. Considering the cleanliness of the room and the freshness of the flowers, it was evidently maintained and updated daily.
At this time.
A variety of snacks and fruit platters had already been arranged on the table.
Some of the dry fruits and fruits Tang Qing had never seen before.
Once Li Kai sat down, he grabbed some of everything to start eating, Wang Yan also picked some sunflower seeds and started munching.
Qiu Lan asked if Tang Qing and others wanted to order food or if they’d prefer the best set meal directly. Tang Qing asked for Wang Yan and Li Kai’s opinions, seeing that they were too lazy to order and also unfamiliar since it was their first time there, they went directly for a set meal.
"Please wait a moment, we will serve the food as quickly as possible." Qiu Lan said and then walked out. Two waiters served tea and water inside, and then stood by the door waiting for further instructions.
Bored, Wang Yan wandered over to a side table and picked up an oversized menu to read.
Her eyes got wider and wider,
"Tang Qing, these dishes are so expensive, the most expensive one is in the tens of thousands." Wang Yan said in surprise. Although her family is fairly well-off and she’s seen a lot, this was her first time seeing such a luxurious dish, let alone eating it.
"What? Let me see." Hearing this, Li Kai also stood up and leaned over to look. Seeing the price tag of thirteen thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, his eyes popped out in surprise. "Really? Old Tang, you’re gonna bleed a bunch of money."
"I don’t have to pay for my meals." Tang Qing replied with a chuckle without turning his head.
"What?"
"What?"
Wang Yan and Li Kai turned their heads at the same time and cried out in surprise.
"Why is that?"
"I’m friends with the owner, he gave me a membership card, I can eat here for free," Tang Qing explained.
Upon hearing this, the two exchanged glances but did not pursue the topic further, to avoid intruding on his privacy and potentially discouraging him. Instead, they focused on enjoying the meal. Originally worried about Tang Qing bleeding money, the two were silent, their worries were unnecessary.
"I’m not going to stand on ceremony then, crafty Old Tang, this is good too, we can sing here, I even saved money on the singing." Li Kai grumbled.
"You can’t escape it, you’ll have to treat us next time." Tang Qing laughed.
"You... why can’t you let me save some pocket money?" Li Kai bristled upon hearing this.
"What do you need the money for? Do you need anything?" Tang Qing countered.
"I... I... I’ll donate it to children who can’t attend school." Li Kai thought quickly and said on the spot.
"..."
After about ten minutes or so.
The dishes were served in succession.
Looking at the over twenty dishes on the table, they realized that the set meal was just a bit too abundant, but didn’t say anything, they could just pack up whatever they couldn’t finish.
It wouldn’t go to waste.
...
"Old Tang, this one’s delicious!"
"This one’s good too!"
"Old Tang, gimme a bite, I’m about to turn it."
"What’s the hurry? You haven’t even finished whatever that is in your bowl."
"Exactly, Li Kai, eat slowly, don’t choke."
...
Tang Qing took his time eating, while Li Kai started eating eagerly. Wang Yan, having the demeanor of a lady, chewed slowly and swallowed gently. Their attentiveness sent the two waitstaff stepping out as they sensed the discomfort in being watched.
"Bang... bang..."
Someone knocked on the door.
Interrupting the conversation inside.
Then, the door was pushed open. Qiu Lan, with a glowing smile on her face, came in holding a bottle of Baijiu, followed by a middle-aged man.
"Didn’t disturb you, right?"
Qiu Lan said with a smile.
With an intrigued look on his face, Tang Qing asked, "Not at all, who’s this?"
The middle-aged man laughed, "Nice to meet you, I’m the General Manager of Tianfu Hotel, Wu Zhengfeng. According to our hotel’s rules, the person in charge of the hotel must come and toast every VIP who dines here."
About the toast.
Tang Qing knew, most hotels have this rule, usually it’s the Lobby Manager, it’s rare for a General Manager to offer a toast.
"We hope that Young Master Tang will visit our hotel often in the future." Wu Zhengfeng laughed.
"Well then, I’ll be sure to take advantage." Tang Qing said politely.
Then Qiu Lan opened the bottle of Wuliangye, pouring a full glass for Wu Zhengfeng and herself. Li Kai and Wang Yan also stood up, holding their red wine glasses.
Wu Zhengfeng laughed, "Dear guests, I toast you three cups, hoping you will eat and drink well in our Tianfu Hotel." He then drank the three cups of Baijiu in one go, while Tang Qing and the others finished off the little bit of red wine left in their glasses.
"I will take my leave now. If you need anything, you can call Manager Qiu Lan." After saying that, Wu Zhengfeng and Qiu Lan exited the room.
After finishing their meal and drinks,
Tang Qing and the others picked up the microphone and started singing.
There was a hint of curiosity in Wang Yan’s eyes as she looked at Tang Qing. He had changed a lot recently, she had originally thought that the biggest changes were in his studies and finances, but there were even more surprising changes.
Such a big hotel, such a big room, such expensive food eaten so casually, even if it’s free, it would take a very good relationship to gift something like this, and it seemed as though it came with unlimited freebies urging him to come by and eat.
She really didn’t know how many secrets Tang Qing had.
As for Li Kai.
Besides being momentarily shocked, there wasn’t much else. It was a fact that Tang Qing was rich.
Singing.
Basically, it was Wang Yan and Li Kai who were singing. Truth be told, Tang Qing didn’t know many songs. He used to just enjoy listening to music but never remembered the lyrics. He could only fully recite the lyrics to around seven or eight songs.
Even after his rebirth, and his improved memory, he never thought of it. Otherwise, selling songs might be a good idea.
Yesterday’s like the eastward flowing water
It’s far gone and can never be brought back
Today’s like many worries occupying my heart
Cutting off water only makes it flow faster
Raising a toast only deepen the worries
Tomorrow’s like the drifting wind
Only there are always new people laughing
...
