Chapter 52: Chapter 48: It’s Him Who Smashed it_3
"Sister Lan, this guy deliberately damaged your hotel’s property, and we all saw it." Liu Kai pointed at Tang Qing and shouted. As soon as he finished, Su Ziwang also stood up and said, "Yes, it was him."
As for Feng Sen, he continued to play with his mobile phone, uninterested.
"You’re lying. It was you who smashed it and even stomped on it a few times." Wang Yan quickly stood up pointing angrily at Liu Kai. She didn’t care who you were, anyone who framed Tang Qing was her enemy.
"You two despicable villains, how dare you frame us!" Li Kai shouted at Su Ziwang.
Watching the two hurling insults at him, Liu Kai chose not to say anything. Arguing with these people was beneath him. Ignoring their shouts, he turned to look at Qiu Lan.
At this point, Feng Sen started to show interest in the scene playing out, always entertained by some disturbance, especially at a crucial moment.
Qiu Lan was caught between a rock and a hard place. She didn’t have the authority to mediate this dispute.
"Manager Lan, what’s going on here?"
Just then, hotel manager Wu Zhengfeng hurried over from the elevator. Seeing him, Qiu Lan was relieved not to deal with this mess, trusting her boss to handle it.
Wu Zhengfeng was also in a bind, unsure of how to handle the situation.
He didn’t know Tang Qing’s background, but he was aware of the other two’s. Whoever he sided with, he’d be dealing with a powerful figure, making it impossible to choose. He hated dealing with such incidents: no matter what he did, he’d offend someone.
Seeing the manager in a pickle, Tang Qing chuckled. He understood that the opposition must be influential, yet he wasn’t afraid. Unless they were backed by some provincial honcho, he wasn’t particularly scared of city-level big shots.
After all, it wasn’t a fundamental clash of interests and didn’t warrant pulling in a high-ranking official. It was just kids play.
"What exactly does your family do, Liu something Junior?" Tang Qing inquired.
"What do you mean?" Liu Kai said, immediately on guard. He didn’t believe it was merely an idle question.
"Nothing really, just to let you know, even if I were to smash every painting in this corridor in front of Manager Wu, I wouldn’t have to pay a dime, and I could just walk out through that main gate," Tang Qing calmly explained.
Upon hearing this, Liu Kai was startled. To dare declare in front of the manager that he could smash all of a hotel’s paintings without having to pay... this was certainly not an ordinary person. Even Feng Sen, who backed him, wouldn’t make such audacious claims.
Could it be that Tang Qing had a powerful background? Liu Kai thought to himself. He had never met Tang Qing, but he knew all of the city leaders’ children. Wasn’t Su Ziwang saying that Tang Qing was just a poor student? Thinking about this, Liu Kai looked at the manager, waiting for his response.
Upon hearing, Wu Zhengfeng cooperated, saying, "Yes, even if Mr. Tang were to smash all the paintings in the corridor, we wouldn’t ask him to pay for them."
Liu Qian had declared that he would treat diamond card holders the same as him. If the boss smashed the hotel’s paintings, of course he wouldn’t have to pay. Seeing Tang Qing continue, Wu Zhengfeng relaxed instantly. Tang Qing was taking the lead, and he’d just assist.
Mr. Tang?
Everyone gazed in surprise at Tang Qing. It wasn’t a title that just anyone could earn. Either one was incredibly rich, or incredibly powerful. Neither was inferior to their own status. There wasn’t any Tang in the city leadership; could he be from the province? Thinking about this, Liu Kai was taken aback.
"Mr... Mr. Tang, my father is a deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Commerce, and this Feng Sen is the son of the Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. May I ask who your father is?" Liu Kai carefully inquired, trying to probe Tang Qing’s status.
"Hehe, there’s no need for you to ask about that. Feng Sen, your father is Feng Hai, right?" Tang Qing said, addressing Feng Sen directly. It became clear who held the power - Liu Kai was under Feng Sen’s command. Dealing with Feng Sen would do the trick. As for Liu Kai, he was completely ignored; Tang Qing wasn’t interested in wasting his time with him.
"You know my dad?" Feng Sen asked, surprised that Tang Qing dared to call his father by his first name.
"We’ve met once before. Your father has quite an impressive aura and spirited character." Tang Qing didn’t continue the conversation, deciding to keep some mystery on his end.
"Ah... yes, that’s how my father is. He’s my role model." Feng Sen affirmed confidently.
"Alright, I won’t keep you any longer. I’ve got things to attend to." Tang Qing said.
"Mr... Mr. Tang, why don’t we go sing karaoke together? The KTV on the eighth floor is excellent, and we have over a dozen friends there. We could get acquainted." Seeing Tang Qing’s fearless demeanour, Feng Sen decided to reach out.
Although he didn’t know Tang Qing’s exact background, judging from Wu Zhengfeng’s attitude, it wouldn’t be wise to offend him. It could lead to unnecessary trouble. If one phone call got to his father saying that he had a conflict with someone, and he found out about it, it would be strange if he wasn’t severely reprimanded.
"No thanks, I just finished singing. You guys have fun. Let’s consider this our first meeting and be friends. Tonight, all your box’s expenses are on me. But don’t go too high. Let’s make it an auspicious number, 60,000. Manager Wu, anything up to 60,000 tonight is on my tab, anything over that, they can cover themselves. How does that sound?" Tang Qing said, turning to look at Wu Zhengfeng.
Wu Zhengfeng immediately agreed, admiring Tang Qing’s skill at handling the situation. A few words had turned foes into friends, yielding to the old saying, accepting a favour makes one accommodating. Indeed, Tang Qing was a valued guest.
