Chapter 699: 603
The group briskly headed towards the hotel.
It shouldn’t be more than two streets away, but Chai Ren and his company suddenly felt it was an enormous distance. They somewhat regretted not bringing a vehicle, and what’s more, there hadn’t been a single taxi around. The others all wore expressions of varying degrees of worry, but only Tang Qing remained calm, chatting cheerfully with Lin Jiaxue behind him.
Lin Jiaxue was here.
In the face of any emergency, as her man, Tang Qing had to stay relaxed in order to prevent his woman from worrying. Especially for such a minor incident, it was just that he was a bit annoyed at whoever threw the glass, interrupting his peaceful afternoon.
Unless there’s a valid reason, he would have to teach that person a lesson. No, even if there were a reason, it wouldn’t be acceptable. The fighters were still tracking down the ’culprit’, he believes the result will be out soon.
They walked for a while longer.
They ceased their stride as walking briskly was indeed tiring.
"Little Tang, where did your bodyguards get their guns from?" Mu Jian suddenly asked. He had to make it clear, as this was no ordinary matter, the street surveillance cameras must have clearly recorded the scene.
Mu Jian knew that Tang Qing’s two bodyguards were brought over from the domestic, and if they don’t have a gun permit, that could cause trouble in the United States.
"A friend helped out, all procedures are in order." Tang Qing responded to Mu Jian’s concern with just two sentences, it unsettled the others. This friend of Tang Qing, sometimes actually seemed like he could fix anything.
When U.S.’s fighters had gone to examine their room earlier, they just casually left the weapons and the identification under the beds where the bodyguards were staying. By now, there were probably Tang Qing’s weapons in practically every country in the world.
Convenient for Tongtian to carry out tasks, and also for other plans, the Command Room specially sent a fighter to go around every country with a teleportation node. Each country had two or three and even up to five or six weapon hideouts.
They were updated and replenished regularly.
"Got it, now I can relax." Mu Jian laughed.
"Husband, I don’t feel too safe here, this could happen while we’re walking on the street." Zhan Xi clung onto Chai Ren’s hand and said.
"Security is generally very good in Hawaii, it’s top-notch even across the United States. It shouldn’t be an assassin, unless they’re insane, nobody would use glass to hit someone. I think it was more likely a prank or an accident." Chai Ren pondered.
"True." Zhan Xi nodded.
"Let’s go, better get back. That Saudi prince probably won’t call the police, and they won’t want any hassle either. Let’s hope the police don’t stick their nose in." Mu Jian said, as long as the source of the firearms from Tang Qing’s bodyguards was legal, they were not afraid of American police.
They reached the Hilton Hotel.
The sun was setting.
After what happened just now and the exhaustion from their day out shopping, they did not have any plans for the night. They intended to get a good night’s sleep to adjust for the jet lag. As Chinese, they were a bit superstitious and believed that it was not suitable to go out at night after experiencing what they just did.
It would be good to just sleep it off.
Meanwhile...
The American police were left with the headache of investigating the video footage.
Both parties had drawn their weapons, and someone had even called the police, which meant that they had to take statements. But seeing the man in white robes and Tang Qing’s entourage of bodyguards, they really didn’t feel like knocking on their doors.
One incredibly wealthy and influential, the other not seeming like an idiot and very wealthy too, their firearm documentation was likely to be in order. In their case, the only outcome of intervening would be wasting their time.
Moreover, their shift was about to end in ten minutes. Now, that was the key point.
"What to do?"
"No one else was injured, the parties involved didn’t call the police, but the glass was definitely thrown by someone. Seeing as someone committed a it, we can’t just ignore it."
"But their bodyguards didn’t found the perpetrator."
"That’s irrelevant to us, let’s go. A casual inquiry is better than doing nothing."
"Alright."
Soon, the American police separately found the robed man and Tang Qing, and after performing a cursory examination of their gun permits and finding no issue, they hurried off.
If they didn’t leave now, they wouldn’t make the nightly PARTY.
As for this matter, the robed man didn’t want to bother the police, and Tang Qing even more so. They didn’t feel like dealing with it either.
After the police left.
Lin Jiaxue finally felt at ease. She had been worried about the legality of these two firearms. Now that the American police had confirmed that there was no problem, there absolutely was no problem. She had not expected that the bodyguards hired by Tang Qing would be so professional. They kept a low profile acting as drivers and gatekeepers, but were unexpectedly impressive during a critical time.
"Tangtang." Lin Jiaxue buried her head in Tang Qing’s chest and softly called.
"Hm, what’s wrong?"
Tang Qing was holding the beauty in his arms tightly, his jaw lightly brushing against Lin Jiaxue’s forehead.
"It’s nothing ... just, take care of yourself, I hope you’re all right." Lin Jiaxue couldn’t articulate her love in a cheesy way, but to Tang Qing’s ears, this was the world’s most moving confession of love.
Tang Qing smiled.
He held her even tighter.
"Of course, not only will I take care of myself, but I will also take care of you. I keep my promises." Tang Qing said firmly, no one can harm his family, if anyone dares to, he will send them straight to hell.
"Hm."
Lin Jiaxue gave a small grunt of affirmation.
The room fell silent. Because of the good sound insulation, the sound of the waves was blocked outside. The two of them listening to each other’s heartbeats, and in no time, Tang Qing’s thoughts began to wander. Lin Jiaxue was becoming more and more irresistible.
Previously, he might have been able to forcefully calm his heart, but now there was no need to restrain himself.
"Let’s go, let’s adapt to the time difference." Without a second thought, Tang Qing scooped Lin Jiaxue into his arms and laughed, heading towards the bathroom. Lin Jiaxue kept her head down, hugging Tang Qing’s neck, her face flushed. 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶
More than an hour later.
Tang Qing was still energetic, while Lin Jiaxue had already fallen asleep.
He went to the living room.
Tang Qing listened to the fighters’ report on their interrogation.
After learning the whole truth, apart from sighing that ’the more people there are, the stranger they become, the larger the forest, the more kinds of birds there will be,’ was incredibly accurate.
All he could do was helplessly shake his head.
Because the reason for the falling glass was so absurd that it made him speechless.
Turns out the culprit was a local oddball who survived on begging and welfare. He often got drunk and his den was not far away. The Saudi prince had been here for about a week and gave him a hundred dollars every time he walked by, but for some reason, the prince didn’t give him money the past couple of days. After drinking, the beggar wanted to vent his frustrations.
And so.
The incident just happened. It was only when he saw the other party pull out a gun that he realized the situation was serious. After sobering up halfway due to shock, he hastily left hoping to use his knowledge of the terrain to escape. Unfortunately, he was knocked out by the approaching fighters.
In the end, the fighters also found out that he had a medium level of schizophrenia.
What the hell.
This was Tang Qing’s most direct feeling after hearing all this.
He really was mentally ill. Tang Qing had heard about America’s culture of vagrancy, every city had them. Come nightfall, the streets belonged to these vagrants: jobless, drunken, disheveled, and mentally ill.
There was nothing Tang Qing could do. He couldn’t get mixed up with a mentally ill person, so he released him. If he had any medicine that could cure mental illnesses, Tang Qing would have given him a dose to prevent him from causing social harm.
Tang Qing decided not to dwell on this matter anymore.
Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, despite it being close to eleven, there were still a few visitors on Waikiki Beach. The sea surface in the distance reflected the bright moonlight.
It had a bit of a poetic feel.
But only a bit. The beach was far less beautiful than he had imagined. After all, pictures are often better than reality. Just like the beach in the photos–uniform and clean, while the real beach was mixed with all kinds of ’trinkets’.
After watching for a while, Tang Qing felt bored.
He wasn’t in the mood to cultivate today either.
Turning around, he went back to the bedroom and snuggled up with Lin Jiaxue to sleep.
Although he couldn’t fall asleep.
But other things could be done. Tang Qing’s hand began to move dishonestly. Unfortunately, Lin Jiaxue was sleeping soundly and could only twist her body in protest.
