Memories, dreams, and emotions merged together, scenes of the past played like a movie within her mind, as Emy focused on playing the guitar, she recalled the first time she ever asked her aunt about this instrument.

"Auntie, what's that for?"

"Oh? Are you interested in this guitar, Emy?"

"Yeah!"

"It is to make music! Oh my, you've never seen one before at all? I'm shocked!"

"Dad says that music is made by useless people that don't earn money…"

"W-What? He said that?! Sheesh, he really only cares and focuses on money, doesn't he? That's the only thing my brother cares about, grew up the same as our mother…"

"Like grandma? How was grandma like?"

"Ah, very similar to your father! Grumpy and always saving every little penny!"

"Oh…"

"Hahaha, anyways, do you want to hear me playing the guitar?"

"Eh? Sure!"

Little Emy glanced at her auntie sitting down, playing the guitar, the melody she played was very relaxing, with soothing notes. The more she heard the music, the more she felt relaxed, and even happy. 𝔫𝔬𝖛𝖕𝔲𝖇.𝖈𝖔𝖒

"So? Did you like it?"

"Yeah! I liked the song!"

"Hahaha, Emy that wasn't a song. Songs are made by people's voices, did you know?"

"Oh…"

"Yeah, I'll sing you something, dear, so listen well…"

Her auntie gentle started moving her fingers, the guitar's sound started calm, almost unnoticeable, but it slowly increased, as a melody was sung by her beautiful voice.

"There was a girl like you one day."

"Eh? Like me?"

"I knew her very well every day."

"Really?"

"And I sang to her a beautiful song."

"How so?"

"That taught her how much I really felt, with my heart and soul!"

"Ooh!"

As Emy sang along, her aunt stood up and started moving while playing the guitar.

"And I couldn't help but think about her every day!"

As she sang, she looked into Emy's eyes, winking at her.

"She was so cute and adorable, she made my heart beat faster and faster, I couldn't help but think about her from day to night!"

Emy started dancing as she heard her aunt singing and playing the guitar.

"So one day!"

"I was so nervous, but I couldn't help but fly to her side!

"I looked her to her eyes, and I told her how I felt with all my heart! And did you know what she said?"

"W-What?"

"I am sorry!"

"She said she was sorry!"

"Sorry?"

"Yes, she said she was sorryyyy!"

Her aunt laughed, as she became more passionate about her song, the guitar beautifully mixing with her voice, as Emy felt the magic of music, she experienced it.

She lived it.

"I walked back to my house that day, while watching the garden's butterflies~!"

"I could help but feel like my day was ruined, I could see other thing than a failure while looking myself at the mirror, ruined."

"Oh…! And what's next?"

"That's all."

"Eh?!"

The song suddenly ended, as her aunt sat down.

"It kind of sucked right? Barely any rhythm and all… I can't even finish a damn song, haha…"

"No, no! It didn't suck! It was cool! I want to know what happened to the girl next!"

"Hahah, you know? That song was kind of based on my childhood."

"Really?"

"Yeah… It was when I was a kid, like… older than you, but not too old."

Her aunt sighed, resting over her bed and looking at the ceiling.

"I was kind of dumb and I confessed to a girl I liked… and I ended getting rejected right away. We were friends but… after that, she didn't even want to talk to me anymore."

"O-Oh…"

"It sucked… I guess she wasn't into girls as I stupidly assumed…"

"And you made that a song, auntie? But why? Isn't it sad?"

"I know but… Songs and music had always been what has helped me cope with my life. I like to sing out my problems, even if the music sucks."

"It doesn't suck!"

Emy walked to her side and touched the guitar.

"Music is amazing! And your song was cool! Let's complete it together auntie!"

"W-What? Really Emy? But why?"

"Because I want that girl to have a happy ending!"

Her auntie smiled lightly, hearing Emy's words made her feel a bit happier.

"Aren't you too nice with your useless aunt? Fine… Don't tell your dad but let me teach you how to play the guitar at least!"

"Okay! Yaaay!"

Emy played her guitar remembering those times, these memories which, although were so many years ago, remained within her heart even now, and she could remember quite clearly, surprisingly.

She sang her aunt's song, her family could hear her down below, and her father seemed very annoyed, screaming at her.

"HEY! WE ARE TRYING TO EAT LUNCH HERE! STOP MAKING SO MUCH NOISE!"

Emy ignored her grumpy old man, as she sang to her heart's content.

She tried to simply forget the world around her and everything else.

To focus on what was in her heart and in her mind, in her own memories.

To let the music and the song bring her to that magical, and colorful world she once visited when she heard her aunt sing back then.

As she shed a tear, she continued singing, until reaching the part that her aunt couldn't finish…

"…"

And she fell silent, as she remembered that her aunt had told her something back then.

"Please, Emy… Would you finish my song?"

She grabbed her guitar tightly, as she gritted her teeth.

She wished she could, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't.

She really couldn't…

"I'm sorry auntie… I can't… I really can't finish your song."

As she cried, she fell asleep while hugging her guitar.

Her mother walked upstairs, bringing her a few slices of pizza and leaving them at her side, covering her with a blanket and kissing her forehead.

"I like hearing your music, Emy."

As she smiled and caressed her dear daughter's hair, she walked downstairs to resume her job at the family's restaurant.

Emy's blue eyes slowly opened, she managed to hear what her mother said.

"Mom…"
