The next day had arrived, and Emy ran downstairs carrying a large bag, she was wearing casual clothes, blue jeans, a white shirt and a black jacket.

"Where are you going Emy? Aren't you delivering pizzas? We got three more to go, quickly!"

Her father reprimanded her as he was annoyed she woke up so late and didn't even show up to eat breakfast with her family.

"I'm leaving!"

She ran to the kitchen, opening the fridge and drinking some milk, before taking out a muffin, which she took a big bite of.

"Leaving?! What? Where?"

"I'm going to go sing or something, I don't know."

"What?! But you have to deliver the pizzas! And singing?! Are you insane? Why? I told you that…!"

"You can't force me to work! It's illegal to make children work, you know dad?"

"B-But that's… it doesn't apply when it's family business! Family helps each other Emy!"

"And I'm barely going to be thirteen in like a month! And it's the weekend! So I'm going to go have fun, and maybe I'll come back for lunch… or maybe dinner."

Her father gasped in disbelief at his rebellious daughter's words, as she ran out of the pizzeria while some clients glanced at the girl running away, taking her bicycle.

"T-That girl! What the hell is wrong with her?!" Her father raged in the kitchen. "Now who's going to deliver the pizza?!"

"Calm down dear, I'll do it myself," said his wife. "Leave Emy alone for once, will you? She's growing up and she needs her space sometimes."

"B-But she has to…!"

"Are you really going to force her to deliver pizza every day, seven days a week?!" his wife reprimanded him. "You know? I've also grown a bit bothered about it! Leave her be, okay? you sure love picking on her because she reminds you of your sister, don't you?"

"T-That's… I would never do that to my daughter! What are you even talking about?"

"It's pretty obvious dad…"

"Yep…"

"Emy hasn't done anything wrong…"

Even his three sons, who helped around the kitchen every now and then, agreed with their mother.

Despite everything, the family loved Emy a lot, she was the bright sun that illuminated their day, her energetic nature, her songs and her overall cheerful demeanor was a breath of fresh air in this gloomy city full of stressed people.

"Haahh… Fine, whatever… But hurry, the pizza's are going to get cold!"

"Fine, fine, I'm going… I'll take the bike- Ah right she took the bike, huh?"

Her mother giggled a bit nervously, as her husband's face suddenly became as red as a tomato, not out of embarrassment, but of anger!

"EMY!!!"

As Emy could have sworn she heard her father's screaming her name, she was already too distracted moving around the nearby streets, reaching a plaza where a lot of urban artists would sit down to sing, make music, and other people would sell whatever they made.

"Okay, a spot… Where can I find one…"

She walked around the plaza for a while, trying to find a good place where she could sit down and just sing, and maybe get some pennies from people that liked her songs.

"Maybe just a cover song could also work for starters…?"

As she sat around and finally found a spot where a lot of people walked around, she sighed in relief.

"Alright this place's good I think!"

She placed her stuff on the floor, opened her bag, took out her guitar, and just started using it.

"Ah…"

But she quickly realized that the noise of the plaza was too loud!

"Ugh…"

She looked around, other singers used microphones, and sometimes speakers for everyone to be able to listen to them properly.

"Welp, I gotta try anyways…"

She started with a few cover songs, but not a single person paid attention to her, other than the occasional "are you lost girl?" or the old lady saying "shouldn't you be making your homework instead of singing in the streets?".

Overall, as time went on, she felt kind of pathetic and unmotivated, and sighed, preparing things to go back home… it wasn't like she imagined, but at least it beat delivering pizza.

"Aw man, I fucking suck at this…"

As she sighed, she noticed someone else singing by her side.

It was young woman, perhaps around her seventeen or eighteens.

Unlike her songs which were pretty soothing and "feel good", the young woman's songs were much more on the rock side.

However, much like her, as she sang, she was enthralled in her song, completely forgetting the world around her.

"Ooh…"

As she finished singing, nobody ever paid attention to her, the girl, with short black hair and brown eyes sat down, taking out a cigarette and beginning to smoke.

"Hard to please today aren't we? Fucking hell…"

As she sighed and crossed her legs while smoking, suddenly, Emy walked to her side, leaving a few cents over her bag.

"Huh? Oh thank you!" She smiled at her. "Are you new here? I saw you singing over there."

"A-Ah yeah! Your song was great!" Emy muttered.

"Aren't you too young though? How old are you?" the girl asked.

"I'm twelve… I mean thirteen!" Emy said.

"T-Thirteen?! You're too young to be here alone! Where are your parents even?" sighed the girl.

"Around the corner of that street over there… We have a family pizzeria," Emy smiled nervously.

"Oh, I guess it's fine then? Huh, be careful there's a bunch of creeps and weirdos out there, you're going to get kidnaped one day if you aren't careful," the girl sighed, letting out her cigarette's smoke from her nose. "So what's your name? Name's Mina." 𝙣𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"I-I'm Emi- You can call me Emy," said Emy with a nod.

"Alright Emy… Wanna collab?" Mina smiled while raising an eyebrow.

"C-Collab?" Emy asked.

"I heard you singing, and you aren't half bad, you've got a pretty voice," said Mina. "You're really good at the guitar too, you can synch your guitar and your singing really well, not many can actually do that you know?"

"O-Oh, really?"

"Yeah even less at your age! So let's sing something together, how about it?"

"S-Sure! Thank you!"
