Chapter 356: Chapter 356: The Floor is Almost Reflective

"That’s settled then. Keep an eye on it over there. Our mother is quite attractive. Even if she finds someone a few years younger, there’s no problem," they finalized their decision to find Lin Fengying a companion.

Without discussing it with Lin Fengying, the two had secretly decided to find a companion for her. 𝚗𝚘v𝚙𝚞b.𝚌𝚘m

After hanging up the phone, Tong Yao turned around to see Gu Hongwei looking at her with a sly smile. Tong Yao was a bit puzzled, she touched her cheek curiously, "Do I have something dirty on my face?"

Gu Hongwei quickly looked away and shook his head. "No."

Tong Yao blinked and joked, "Are you afraid that I’ll introduce your father to Grandma?"

"No." Gu Hongwei did not mind Tong Yao’s straightforward jokes and truthfully said, "My father is in ill health and doesn’t deserve Aunt Lin. Otherwise, it would have been a great match."

His mother had passed away years ago and his father’s health had been deteriorating ever since. He had nobody to talk to and was all alone. He had thought about finding a companion for his father, but he knew that nobody would want someone like his father.

Who would bother to bring trouble home?

And as for Lin Fengying, even if his father was in good health it would have been impossible for him to match with her. He knew about the past between Lin Fengying and Si Weimin from his father. Almost everyone from the older generation in the village knew about it, but nobody dared to mention it because Si Chen and Si Boyi were now grown up and influential.

"Come out! Who’s the owner here? Come out quickly! Everybody, come and see! This milk tea shop is making money illegally. My son vomited and experienced diarrhea after drinking their milk tea. It must be due to the unhygienic conditions and stale ingredients in their shop..." Suddenly, the voice of a woman arguing loudly came from outside.

A woman, leading a small boy of seven or eight, stood shouting at the entrance, which quickly attracted the attention of passersby.

Walking to the entrance, Tong Yao stared at the woman for a while before realizing that this woman had been to the store a little over an hour ago to buy milk tea. At the time, she came alone without any kid.

"Ma’am, calm down. Let’s talk it over. Has your son seen a doctor yet? What did the doctor say?" Tong Yao tried to calm the woman.

The woman glared at Tong Yao, "What could they say? It was of course due to the milk tea from your shop."

Tong Yao found it funny because the woman had bought the milk tea just an hour ago. Even if her son really fell sick due to the milk tea, how could a doctor examine and find out so quickly?

There were many onlookers at the scene, and Tong Yao didn’t want the reputation of her shop to be tarnished by arguing with the woman. So, she said with concern,

"Ma’am, your son doesn’t look too well. Let’s take him to the hospital for a check-up. If it’s proven that an unhygienic condition in our shop caused this, I’ll cover all the medical expenses. How does that sound?"

But the woman was not willing to be pacified, she argued, "My son has suffered a lot. Do you think that just covering the medical expenses is enough?"

Uncertain if the woman was creating trouble or if the child was really unwell, Tong Yao followed the woman’s line of thought and asked, "So, what do you suggest we do?"

"So, whatever I say you will do?" The woman glared at Tong Yao without giving her a chance to speak. "If I say I want your shop to close down so you won’t harm anyone else, will you do that?"

"..."

Tong Yao and Gu Hongwei looked at each other. At this point, they could almost confirm that the woman came with ill-intentions and was deliberately causing trouble. Knowing this, Tong Yao’s attitude towards the woman became firmer,

"I have confidence in the cleanliness of my shop. Anyone is welcome to inspect the cleanliness inside. If you find that our shop is in fact, a mess and that’s what caused your son’s sickness, I will apologize and close down the shop."

"Yaoyao." Gu Hongwei called her name, his lip twitching. Despite his confidence in the cleanliness of their shop, he was worried about her hardline stance and the consequences it might have.

The woman seemed stunned by Tong Yao’s assertiveness and paused for a moment. She did not enter the store to check but continued to cause a scene, "Don’t think you can divert everyone’s attention with deceptive words. My son fell sick because of your milk tea. You need to give me an explanation."

Tong Yao replied sternly, "Ma’am, like I said, you are free to inspect our shop for cleanliness, and I am willing to take your son to the hospital for a check-up. But you refuse to cooperate and insist that I give you an explanation. So, what according to you should I do to provide an explanation?"

Hearing Tong Yao’s statement, some of the spectators said, "Exactly, you are blaming them for causing your son’s illness due to bad hygiene, but you refuse to take your son to the hospital and are not willing to inspect the shop either. Aren’t you deliberately causing trouble because their business is doing well?"

The person who said this was a woman studying at Kyoto University. She had a good relationship with Gu Hongwei and visited often for milk tea. Seeing someone cause trouble, she couldn’t help but speak up.

The milk tea sold here had always been doing well, and they had not encountered any issues regarding hygiene. But a new milk tea shop was about to open nearby, and now someone was picking a fight here. It was clear to the discerning eye that this was not as simple as it appeared.

"Who, who’s deliberately causing trouble? Watch your words." The woman faltered and darted around nervously with her eyes. "My son did fall sick due to drinking your milk tea. I am not going to the hospital because I am afraid that you might collude with them."

Tong Yao gave the woman a chilling glance, causing the woman to shrink back a bit. Then she turned to the female student who had spoken up and said politely, "Could you please go in and check the hygiene status of the shop to clear our name?"

Most of their revenue came from students of the university. If their reputation was tarnished within the university then it wouldn’t be much different from having to close the shop.

Seeing that Tong Yao trusted her, the female student nodded, "Alright."

Before she went in, she invited two others to accompany her, in case the woman claimed that she was in cahoots with Tong Yao.

The woman became anxious when she saw the three of them entering the store and quickly followed in with her child. The spectators, who were watching from the side, also went in and the small milk-tea shop was filled with people in an instant.

The female student led the people inside to inspect the shop. The kitchen was immaculately clean. Even the top of the refrigerator was dust-free and the floor was so shiny that even shoe prints couldn’t be seen. The more the female student saw, the more she was sure that the woman was here just to pick a fight.

She thought to herself, "It’s good that I didn’t fall for it."

She came out and announced loudly, "The inside of the shop is very clean. If anyone doesn’t believe me, they can go in and take a look. It’s impossible for her son to have gotten sick because of any hygiene issues here."

The other two people also nodded in agreement, "Indeed, it’s very clean. The floor is so shiny that it reflects light. If we can get sick from here, then we might as well not cook at home."
