Chapter 367: Chapter 367: Your cooking skills are good enough to open a restaurant.

Wang Chun seemed shocked by the novelty of information, she could hardly believe that Si Chen would actually nag.

In contrast, Deng Wenwen whispered to her, "Sister Yaoyao, you don’t know how good you have it. A lot of people would love to stay at home and not do anything." When mentioning her mother, who usually complained about being too tired every time she came home and often nagged her father, she said that it irritated her even just hearing her mother nag. She didn’t even want to stay in the house.

Women who always nag are the most annoying.

Tong Yao, hopping on one leg, made it back to her chair and sat down, saying, "People seek different things. I like the feeling of money coming in every day. I’m still young and it’s too early for me to retire. I should earn as much as I can before I have a child, then I can stay at home worry-free with my child."

Both Deng Wenwen and Wang Chun were left stunned by Tong Yao’s behavior. Tong Yao was able-bodied before Si Chen arrived, but now she was hopping around on one leg?

Tong Yao found the two of them watching her extremely strange; Si Chen’s role-playing was very effective, so much so that every time she saw Si Chen, she thought of herself as a seriously injured patient...

Si Chen quickly cooked four dishes and a soup, all of which were beautifully presented and tasted excellent. Even Wang Chun, who was used to eating all kinds of delicacies, gave him several compliments.

Good-looking men who are capable and can cook for their wives are rare in this era.

"Doctor Si, your culinary skills are good enough to start a restaurant."

Although Zhao Wenkai loved her, asking him to cook was impossible. Wang Chun thought that Tong Yao had genuinely found a good husband. As her friend, she was happy for Tong Yao.

"They’re just simple homemade dishes. Enjoy and eat a lot," Si Chen said calmly.

"Your ’homemade dishes’ are extraordinary," Deng Wenwen complimented while helping herself to big mouthfuls, laughing so hard that Tong Yao followed suit.

"Don’t compliment him so much, otherwise, he’ll think his cooking is better than his medical skills and decide to switch careers and open a restaurant," Tong Yao remarked playfully.

"I would be the first to object," Wang Chun said gently. "Doctor Si is an exceptional physician. It would be a waste if he became a cook."

Si Chen listened unflusteredly as the three women chatted. After he had finished his meal and realizing that it was already one o’clock in the afternoon, he gathered up his dishes and chopsticks and placed them in the kitchen, bidding the three women: "Take your time eating, I have to go to work. Leave the dishes in the kitchen, and I’ll clean up when I return."

"You go ahead!" Tong Yao, occupied with her meal, waved at him without lifting her head. She had been too busy recently to cook at home, and it had been a while since she had last tasted Si Chen’s cooking. Now she was relishing the meal like a little foodie.

As soon as Si Chen left, Deng Wenwen and Wang Chun let loose considerably. The two of them freely helped themselves with Tong Yao, leaving no food on the table. After the meal, Deng Wenwen patted her stomach, letting out a satisfied burp.

"I am so full. Doctor Si’s skills are even better than my mother’s. My mum always puts a ton of soy sauce in her dishes, I don’t really know why. I suppose it’s a habit. It’s a good thing she’s busy and doesn’t have the time to cook often."

Tong Yao laughed, "You should be grateful that your mom can cook for you at all! Stop being so picky."

Deng Wenwen, sulking, glanced at the wall clock and urged Tong Yao to turn on the TV, "There’s a popular TV drama airing right now that’s really good. I watch it every night when I get home. There’s a rerun on during the day."

The show Deng Wenwen was referring to was a current hit rural romance drama. Tong Yao had little interest in watching it, but Deng Wenwen and Wang Chun seemed to be engrossed. Having no choice, she reluctantly joined in and gradually started getting into it.

Meanwhile, no sooner had Si Chen arrived at the hospital than he was called to Zhao Rongwei’s ward. Fang Xiujing excitedly informed him about Zhao Rongwei’s condition, "Doctor Si, is my husband going to wake up? When I was wiping his hand earlier today, I saw his finger move."

Zhao Wenyu, unable to contain his excitement, asked, "Doctor Si, if you can wake up my father, I will send you a silk banner as a gratitude gift tomorrow. Our family is in the building materials business, and we’re very wealthy."

He had already returned to work at the company, but it was as if he were just a token decoration. His days in the company were no different than his days at home; he couldn’t get involved in anything, and no one listened to him.

Feeling helpless, Zhao Wenyu was getting frantic. Yet there was nothing he could do; all he could do was pin his hopes on his father.

After Si Chen carefully checked Zhao Rongwei’s condition and performed several tests, he had to tell the unadulterated truth: "The patient is recovering well, but his brain is still unconscious. You should speak to him about topics he’s interested in and massage him to prevent his muscles from atrophying from lying down for too long."

Hearing this, Fang Xiujing deflated like a punctured balloon, instantly losing color in her face. Zhao Wenyu, however, couldn’t accept Si Chen’s answer and exclaimed, "Doctor, please check again. My mum said she saw my dad’s finger move, how can there be no signs of him waking up? If there aren’t, why would his finger move?"

The hope in Fang Xiujing’s dimmed eyes reignited, "Doctor Si, I indeed saw his finger move."

Si Chen asked seriously, "Before you saw the patient’s finger move, were you giving him a massage?"

Fang Xiujing nodded subconsciously, "Yes, I was massaging him. Does this have anything to do with it?" Could massaging help awaken him?

Zhao Wenyu also looked at Si Chen expectantly. If massaging could wake his dad up, he would pay for ten or eight people to massage him until his dad woke up.

"That’s the point," Si Chen said calmly. "His finger moved likely because you touched a muscle nerve on his arm while massaging him. It’s just a natural bodily reaction."

"How can you be a doctor? My mum can even make my dad’s finger move a little, but you as a doctor can’t even do that. Where is the dean? Call the dean here, I want to change doctors."

With his hopes shattered again, Zhao Wenyu was irate as if he were a wild horse, ready to raze the hospital to the ground. He pointed at Si Chen and yelled, "I should never have let you operate on my dad. What kind of lousy doctor are you? Let me tell you, if my dad doesn’t wake up, I’m going to sue your hospital and make sure you rot in jail."

"Wenyu, calm down and stop talking nonsense," Fang Xiujing scolded her son, then quickly apologized to Si Chen. "Doctor Si, I’m sorry. He’s just too anxious about his father’s condition and doesn’t watch what he says. Please don’t mind him. I’ll talk him down."

Her husband had been unconscious all along, and of course, Fang Xiujing didn’t feel comfortable. Although she hadn’t transferred her husband to another hospital, she had discreetly consulted renowned doctors regarding her husband’s condition.

Others also said that her husband was lucky to have survived the surgery. When they found out that Si Chen was the lead surgeon, they praised him extensively. Their husband’s continued state of unconsciousness was absolutely not Si Chen’s fault.

It was just that her husband’s injuries were too severe.
