Tong Yao changed the topic, "May I ask, did a lady named Lin Man check in earlier?"

"I am very sorry, but we are not allowed to disclose guest information." Despite her inability to reveal information, the front desk associate was particularly polite to Tong Yao, maintaining a pleasant smile.

The moment Lin Man saw Tong Yao, she instinctively hid behind Zhao Wenkai. She was already a mistress to Zhao Wenkai, but her heart still skipped a beat when she saw Tong Yao.

Four large, impactful words appeared in Tong Yao’s mind, ’thick-skinned and shameless’. He was so overbearing even after being caught cheating. She wondered how Achun would react if she found out about all this nonsense Zhao Wenkai was pulling behind her back.

Tong Yao glared at him, "Achun is outside. You can go explain it to her yourself!"

"Do you think Achun would believe you or me?" Zhao Wenkai smirked, "Miss Tong, I would advise against meddling in other’s affairs. Achun and I can handle our issues without any interference."

With this, he squinted dangerously, issuing a warning: "If your insatiable curiosity causes Achun pain, I promise the consequences will be something you can’t bear. Trust me; I definitely have the ability to make you and Dr. Si struggle here in Kyoto."

Tong Yao locked eyes fearlessly with him for a few seconds, then rolled her eyes and laughed heartlessly. She taunted, "This is my first time witnessing a cheater playing so high and mighty after being exposed. I appreciate you showing me the vile side of unfaithful men. You should know, every action has consequences, and no secret can be kept forever. Do you really think Achun won’t find out if I don’t tell her? She might be a kind person, but she’s no fool."

"That’s not your concern. All you need to ensure is that the news doesn’t come from you. Miss Tong, think carefully, whether you should risk Dr. Si’s future for a matter that doesn’t concern you."

Seeing her certainty, a firm conviction filled Zhao Wenkai’s gaze. "At least clear-headed people would keep their mouths shut."

"Why is it Lin Man?" Tong Yao, undaunted by his threat, could not help her curiosity about Zhao Wenkai’s affinity towards Lin Man.

Lin Man was in no way superior to Wang Chun. Even a blind man could decipher the disparity between the two.

"Miss Tong, you’re asking a few too many questions," reminded Zhao Wenkai.

His tone stayed unstirred, as if the whole thing was merely a casual conversation.

Tong Yao remained silent, the two locked eyes, nobody wanting to back down. Their stare-off lasted for about ten seconds until a surprised voice sounded from the doorway.

"Yaoyao... Wenkai, what are you doing here?"

Wang Chun saw Tong Yao entering the hotel and thought she ran into someone familiar. When she didn’t see Tong Yao come out after a while, curiosity led her out of the car.

Little did she expect the familiar face Tong Yao ran into would be her own husband.

Tong Yao fearfully glanced at Wang Chun as Zhao Wenkai nonchalantly strutted over to Wang Chun. His face changed from indifferent to concerned at the sight of her. He took off his coat and drapes it over her before saying-

"It’s too cold outside. Why are you wearing so little? Didn’t I tell you to bundle up this morning?"

"I’m not cold," Wang Chun struggled to take off the coat but was held back by Zhao Wenkai.

"Don’t move, your hands are freezing."

Seeing Wenkai’s stern expression, Wang Chun conceded and wore his coat. She asked curiously, "Wenkai, what are you doing here? Yaoyao said she saw someone familiar. I thought she made a mistake. Turns out, it was you."

"Yes! That friend I mentioned before had just flown in from Hai City. I was just securing his accommodation." After explaining, Zhao Wenkai deliberately threw a glance in Tong Yao’s direction.

Tong Yao: ...

Currently, She didn’t know whether to be impressed by Zhao Wenkai’s ability to lie effortlessly or Wang Chun’s unwavering trust.

Her husband ran into him early morning at a hotel, yet there wasn’t a hint of suspicion in Wang Chun’s eyes, just surprise and happiness. That left her at a loss for how to break the news to Wang Chun.

After contemplating for a moment, Wang Chun skeptically asked, "Was it Mr. Wang?"

"Correct." Wenkai nodded. Immediately after, he suggested, "Since you are here, let me introduce you."

Tong Yao’s heart skipped a beat, what on earth was Zhao Wenkai up to?

Before she could react, she saw Wang Chun shaking her head, "Maybe next time! As he has just arrived, I’m sure he needs some rest. It wouldn’t be polite to pop in unannounced."
