Chapter 491: Chapter 491: The Death of Shi Yan

It was past midnight before the two of them fell asleep. The compartment was empty and coupled with the late hour, Shi Yan and Lin Man didn’t bother to put their clothes on. The narrow bunk bed could barely fit one person, let alone two. She had evicted Shi Yan to the opposite side... and then fell into a deep sleep. 𝖓𝔬𝖛𝔭𝔲𝖇.𝔠𝔬𝖒

During the night, Lin Man was awoken by a rustling noise. She opened her eyes and was instantaneously petrified. The compartment was pitch black, but she saw a shadowy figure sitting by her bed, a figure that clearly wasn’t Shi Yan.

Once her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she saw Shi Yan pinned to the bed, unable to move. The man by her bed was looking at her with a gloomy expression.

Lin Man was so scared that she couldn’t make a sound. Her body was shaking uncontrollably. She regretted not heeding Shi Yan’s advice to call others for help.

Although she could not make out the faces of the two men, she recognized them as the two men from the bathroom.

Then, Shi Yan’s voice sounded.

"Brothers, all the money is in the bag under the bed. Take it all, as long as you don’t hurt us."

The man pinning Shi Yan down let out a cold sneer, "Of course I want the money, what else did you think I came here for?"

Shi Yan didn’t dare to argue on impulse, instead, he quickly nodded and echoed, "Yes, yes, you’re right. Rest assured, take everything you want. We won’t make a sound."

"You’re pretty smart," the man pinning Shi Yan snickered, patting Shi Yan’s cheek, "Too bad you had big plans taking half of the money to purchase goods, causing us quite a loss."

If only Shi Yan hadn’t bought so many goods this time, preying on him alone would have been a big haul. Instead, the fool had bought so many goods from the E Country.

These items were difficult to handle and drew too much attention. Disposing of them might attract unwanted attention. That’s why they would only take the money and forgo the goods.

Shi Yan’s act of purchasing goods was equivalent to squandering their money, hence, causing their disgust towards him.

Sweat trickled down Shi Yan’s forehead. He could feel the knife on his neck piercing his skin. It appeared that they could cut through his throat with just a little effort.

"I’m extremely sorry. I had no idea you would come. If I had known, I would have left all the money untouched," he pleaded.

At that moment, Shi Yan felt a sliver of relief in his heart. He was thankful that he had used half of the money to buy goods. These men were clearly only interested in the money and not the goods. After getting robbed empty-handed, he could always sell the goods and still have around twenty to thirty thousand left in hand.

It didn’t end up being a total loss.

The man smirked maliciously, "So, how are you planning to compensate us?"

Caught off guard, Shi Yan forced a faint smile and said, "Brother, any form of compensation you suggest, I’ll heed."

"Then how about compensating us with this woman."

The one speaking this time was the man sitting next to Lin Man. Stiffened in fear, Lin Man dared not move an inch or utter a single word. She knew that any sign of defiance could cost her her life.

Despite her repulsion towards the two men, she valued her life more. If they wanted to touch her, she wouldn’t resist as long as she stayed alive.

From the moment she woke up, she had prepared herself for the worst.

When Shi Yan heard the man’s words, he showed an expression of pain, he pleaded, "Brother, I beg of you, take anything you want, take all the money, just please don’t touch her. She’s my wife."

No sooner had he finished speaking, the man across him laughed lewdly, "Oh! Seems like you’re in high spirits on this train. Indeed, she’s a fine one."

Shi Yan’s mind exploded. He continued pleading, "Bro, I beg of you, spare her. There are many other beautiful women on this train. There’s a beautiful woman living in the compartment next to the bathroom. I can take you to her, just please let my wife go."

The man holding Shi Yan down threatened, "You better shut up. I fancy your wife. If you keep yapping, I’ll cut off your tongue."

No sooner had the man finished speaking, Lin Man’s voice rang out, "As long as you let us go, you can do whatever you want."

"Finally begging, that’s not how you behaved earlier by the restroom door." The man looked at her lewdly and moved closer with an evil grin, "Trashy girl, you look skinny but you’ve got good curves."

With the compartment too dark, Shi Yan couldn’t make out what the man across him was doing. Yet from the man’s words, he deduced his actions. Suddenly filled with rage, Shi Yan retaliated and tried to free himself, prompting a warning from the man.

"Move again and I’ll kill you."

Feeling a sharp pain around his neck, Shi Yan dared not make another move. All he could do was watch the shadows on the opposite bed. Sounds of Lin Man mingled with the man’s laughter filled his ears, he ground his teeth in rage.

After more than half an hour, the man pulled up his trousers contentedly, replaced the man holding down Shi Yan, and sneered, "Now your turn. She’s quite satisfying."

Soon, sounds of the attack resumed on the opposite side, Shi Yan buried his head into the pillow and stayed quiet as if dead.

After a whole night of trysts, Shi Yan did not know how many times they violated Lin Man. It was only at dawn that he could see the state she was in. Lin Man lay on her bed, her body exposed, with no covers to hide her shame. The three men were staring at her.

From the conversation between the two men, Shi Yan figured out that they would disembark soon. He heaved a relieved sigh. But just when he thought his torment was over, the man sitting next to Lin Man spoke.

"This woman is pretty decent and seems to be educated. I’m thinking of taking her with me, have her bear me some sons."

The man holding Shi Yan down didn’t object, but he looked at Shi Yan with an insinuating glance, "If she goes, this man must not stay."

Upon hearing this, Shi Yan and Lin Man felt a sinking feeling in their hearts. Lin Man had endured the whole night hoping to safely reach Kyoto. Being taken away by these men would be worse than death.

When Shi Yan heard that they intended to wipe him out, he also lost his composure. He knew that once the duo comes to an agreement, he would face certain death. Seizing a moment when the man holding him down was distracted, Shi Yan tried to fight back. But he had barely sat up when he was again restrained by the man. Angry at his rebellion, the man’s face was filled with malice. With a swift motion, he stabbed a knife into Shi Yan’s groin.

Before Shi Yan could even scream, the man smothered his head with a quilt. He writhed in agony, his muffled groans escaping from beneath the quilt. Lin Man was so shocked that she froze on the spot. Little had she expected them to strike so callously, and so swiftly.

The white quilt was stained red with fresh blood. Lin Man was shivering from head to toe but too terrified to make a sound. She helplessly watched Shi Yan gradually stop struggling.

It was not until Shi Yan lay completely motionless that Lin Man couldn’t tell whether Shi Yan had fought back for her sake, or out of fear of being wiped out.
