Chapter 523: Chapter 523: You’re Going to Have Twins!
"Tong Yao looked at Gu Hongwei and Guo Jinnian and asked,"Staying one more day, will that be okay with you both?"
"Of course, no problem at all!" Guo Jinnian quickly responded, "If we could bring more goods along, it would be even better. The market in Kyoto is big, we are bound to make a fortune in the future."
Gu Hongwei also agreed, "Ms. Hu, let me accompany you again tomorrow. It’s not very safe for you to go there alone. Now that you are being watched, we need to be more careful."
Guo Jinnian and Tong Yao nodded. They agreed with what Gu Hongwei said.
"Alright, then it’s settled. It’s getting late now, you should rest early." Hu Haiyun wrapped up the discussion and went back to her room.
Gu Hongwei also said,"You two should rest early as well, I’m going to accompany Ms. Hu again tomorrow. It will be great if this matter could be settled."
Initially, he had just wanted to make a quick buck, but now the scale seemed to be getting larger and larger. Gu Hongwei needed some time to clear his mind and adjust his thoughts. He didn’t want to get carried away merely because of minor success. Even though he knew his determination was not as strong as Tong Yao’s, he still hoped to be as strategic and foresighted as her.
At this point, Gu Hongwei didn’t realize that in Tong Yao’s eyes, he was the one who was strategic and had a keen business sense.
Tong Yao nodded and said,"Hongwei, be prepared. Once we have delivered this batch of goods, you need to get your driver’s license. Our business is getting better, our cars are not good enough for hauling goods."
Gu Hongwei nodded seriously and then left the room.
Guo Jinnian secretly muttered to herself, What in the world? Why did she find Gu Hongwei more and more pleasing to the eye as if he became more attractive with age?
"Jinnian, you should go to bed early as well! I’ll take you around Li City’s mall tomorrow morning." Tong Yao said gently.
Since she got pregnant, she had been feeling more easily fatigued and would feel drowsy at night. At this moment, she was already getting sleepy.
Hearing about going to Li City, Guo Jinnian was excited and said, "Okay, you should also go to bed early. I’ll come and get you tomorrow morning."
She hasn’t had a chance to take a good look around Li City. Yesterday when she went out with Gu Hongwei, he was like a block of wood who, apart from walking, would not say a single word. Going out with him was a torture. It was lucky that she had Hu Haiyun with her today, otherwise she would have gone crazy.
The door was closed by Guo Jinnian, Tong Yao checked the door one more time to confirm it was locked properly before she went to bed and fell asleep. Just thinking of how she had a baby in her womb, she couldn’t help but smile. If Ahchen knew about her pregnancy, she wondered what his reaction would be.
Would he be overjoyed and come back immediately?
Her parents would definitely be thrilled to have a grandchild.
The more Tong Yao thought about it, the more excited she became. She wished she could call Si Chen right away. She found it so annoying living in this era without convenient communication. If Si Chen didn’t contact her, she couldn’t even share her good news.
Tong Yao was lost in thoughts, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep. During the night she dreamt of a little boy being bullied. He was sitting alone on the street looking pitiful with his ragged clothes. Tong Yao felt sorry for him and gave a steamed bun to the boy, who greedily gulped it down. Then the boy kept on following her.
Tong Yao curiously asked the boy about his home. The boy shook his head and said he had none. When Tong Yao was considering sending the boy to the orphanage, a little girl wearing twin braids ran over. The girl was dressed in a red top, and her face was dirty. She stood there, hands on her tiny waist, looking menacingly at Tong Yao, demanding to know where she was trying to send the boy.
Before Tong Yao could reply, the boy introduced the girl as his friend, who also had no home.
This seemed rather pitiful too... Just as Tong Yao was about to ask the two if they wanted to go to an orphanage, she was awakened by the noise of someone knocking at her door. Rubbing her eyes, she got up, glanced at her watch, and found that it was already eight in the morning.
"Yaoyao, are you up yet?" Guo Jinnian’s voice sounded from outside the door.
"I am up now."
Tong Yao answered and went to open the door.
Seeing Tong Yao’s sleepy face, Guo Jinnian was surprised, "Yaoyao, did you just wake up?"
Tong Yao usually didn’t like to sleep in late. Guo Jinnian even brought breakfast over, fearing that Tong Yao might get hungry and affect the baby.
Rubbing her eyes, Tong Yao laughed, "I might have been a bit too tired these past two days. I slept quite heavily. I even had a dream about a boy and a girl. Both of them were homeless. It was rather pitiful."
Guo Jinnian walked into the room and set the breakfast on the table. After hearing what Tong Yao said, she exclaimed, "So, did you keep the boy or the girl? It is said, if you keep a boy in your dream, you will give birth to a boy, and if you keep a girl, you’ll have a girl."
"Umm..." Tong Yao was at a loss for words, "I didn’t keep either. I even wanted to send them to an orphanage. Now what?"
"Oh my..." Guo Jinnian exclaimed dramatically, "I guess you’re going to have twins!" 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶
Tong Yao burst out laughing, "There are no such genes in either of our families. How could it be so easy to have twins?"
"That’s not necessary, You might even have a boy and a girl. Quickly get up, wash up, eat something. You can’t starve my future nephew or niece." Guo Jinnian was thinking about becoming a godmother already.
Tong Yao chuckled, "You start eating. I’ll go brush my teeth and wash up."
Tong Yao indeed felt some hunger. She ate two steamed buns, an egg, and drank a cup of soy milk after washing up, feeling a bit nauseous. But at least she didn’t throw up. It felt much better compared to people who throw up whatever they eat.
After breakfast, she took Guo Jinnian to explore the mall for a while. Guo Jinnian was amazed that Li City was more developed than Jiang City and wondered when Jiang City would catch up.
Tong Yao just smiled without saying anything. Guo Jinnian’s hometown was a smaller county under Jiang City. From her previous life’s memories, Guo Jinnian’s hometown had a slow development. It was just an eighteenth-tier small county town with limited room for development. If they wanted to build a career, they would have to move to major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou.
The two strolled around. Aside from trying a few novel treats, Guo Jinnian wasn’t very interested in buying those small items or clothes that most girls liked. Therefore, after wandering around for more than two hours, except for having a few soft drinks, they didn’t buy anything else.
However, Tong Yao made an observation. The storefront at the entrance of the mall was under renovation, seeming to be an upcoming tea shop. She figured this area would soon be swarmed with tea shops.
Fortunately, being a high school’s entrance, they couldn’t just open shops anytime they wanted. Thus, her business wasn’t affected and the income was very steady.
With the breeding farm earning consistently, there would be no problem with the cash flow. She could pay the decoration fees after going back this time and then move into the new house.
Originally, Tong Yao wasn’t in a hurry to move in. However, as she began befriending more and more people, her house could no longer accommodate everyone. The only option left was to buy some furniture and let everyone including Guo Jinnian live in the new house.
