Chapter 558: Chapter 558: Flood 1
Si Chen nodded, "Then you’ll sleep on the sofa tonight."
Seeing that Tong Yao and Guo Jinnian were still engrossed in the horror movie, Fu Yiheng offered, "It’s only eight thirty, still early. Let’s continue watching the movie for a while!"
He had been sick of these movies for a long time, but he found it particularly fun when everyone was watching together, creating a lively atmosphere.
Tong Yao and Guo Jinnian were both in favor of Fu Yiheng’s idea. It was still early, and they could sleep in tomorrow. They could definitely spend a bit more time watching the movie. The most important thing was that the movie had just started, and they were really into it.
Just as the movie came to a very horrifying scene, Tong Yao and Guo Jinnian were fully focused, their attention fully fixed. But right when a ghost was about to appear on screen, the lights in the room suddenly went out. Guo Jinnian, frightened, screamed and dove directly into Tong Yao’s arms.
Fearing that Tong Yao might be scared, Si Chen immediately wrapped his arms around her. Fu Yiheng hadn’t expected them to react so dramatically to the lights going out, and quickly said, "Don’t be scared. I thought turning off the lights would make things more atmospheric. If it scares you, I can turn the lights back on."
Tong Yao waved him off, "No need. Just let us know next time you’re going to do something like this."
Guo Jinnian also added, "Turning off the lights does make it more atmospheric, but people can be scared to death."
At this moment, the terrifying music in the movie suddenly blared, and Fu Yiheng, frightened, shivered, immediately regretting turning off the lights. He quickly moved his chair next to Si Chen and sat close to him, feeling much safer being around Si Chen, who he thought could deter any ghosts or spirits.
After all, who would you feel safer with, someone more scared than you or someone calm and composed?

A ghost face suddenly appeared on the TV screen. Fu Yiheng swallowed hard. This was his third time watching this movie. Why hadn’t he found it so scary before?
The atmosphere certainly added to the fear.
The four of them watched for over an hour before finally finishing the movie. Guo Jinnian and Tong Yao seemed a little unfulfilled, just as they were discussing if they should watch another one, Si Chen picked up Tong Yao and brought her back to the room.
With Tong Yao gone, Guo Jinnian didn’t feel safe, so they decided to continue watching the next day.
Tong Yao, who had been placed on the bed by Si Chen, held onto Si Chen’s neck and whimpered, "Dr. Si, isn’t it a bit overbearing of you?"
Si Chen affectionately ruffled her hair, "Be good, if you want to watch more, we can continue tomorrow. Don’t you always get sleepy at this hour? Staying up late is not good for the baby."
Hearing that staying up late was not good for the baby, Tong Yao finally let go of her small grievances, released Si Chen’s hand, got off the bed, and said, "I’m going to take a shower."
At her words, Si Chen helped her pick out some clean clothes, walked her to the bathroom door, reminded her to be careful not to slip in the bathroom, not to bathe for too long, and to adjust the water temperature before he left the bathroom.
Seeing Si Chen’s thoughtful behavior, Fu Yiheng was astounded. He had once shared a dormitory with Si Chen and was used to Si Chen’s indifference. Seeing Si Chen’s interactions with Tong Yao today, Fu Yiheng felt as if he had never truly known Si Chen before.

Tong Yao quickly finished her shower and came out to find Fu Yiheng already dozing off on the couch. Si Chen had been waiting for her by the door, and as soon as she came out, he scooped her up and carried her back to the room. He covered her with a blanket and whispered, "You go to sleep first; I’ll take a shower."
Tong Yao nodded, "Hurry up. I’m worried that by the time you finish, I’ll already be asleep. I wasn’t sleepy at all, but now that I lie down, I can hardly keep my eyes open."
Si Chen gave a soft, indulgent laugh, "If you’re sleepy, just sleep. Don’t force yourself. I will be done soon."
With that said, he took his clothes and left the room. Tong Yao had planned on waiting for Si Chen to come back so they could cuddle for a while before sleeping, but she was so sleepy that she fell asleep unknowingly.
By the time Si Chen came back from his shower, she was already breathing steadily. Si Chen let out an irritated chuckle and gently held her in his arms.
Being disturbed during her sleep, Tong Yao seemed somewhat disgruntled and fussed a bit. She found a comfortable position in Si Chen’s arms and drifted off to sleep again. Si Chen began to feel his blood boil, taking in the faint fragrance coming off Tong Yao.
The person he had been longing for was right there in his arms, and it was inevitable that his mind would wander. But he managed to control his physical reactions, and after calming his emotions, he drifted off to sleep while holding Tong Yao.
Tong Yao slept until the sun was high in the sky. By then, Si Chen and Fu Yiheng had already left for the academy, and Guo Jinnian was having breakfast. Seeing her come out, Guo Jinnian hurriedly said, "Yaoyao, Dr. Si made porridge. You should brush your teeth quickly, and I will serve it for you."
The heavy rain had become a light drizzle, and the weather wasn’t as gloomy. This lifted everyone’s spirit a bit. Tong Yao yawned and went to freshen up. When she came out, Guo Jinnian had already brought the porridge and the fried eggs to the table.
"It’s warm. Perfect for eating now."
Tong Yao nodded, sat next to Guo Jinnian, and began eating. Guo Jinnian then mentioned again, "They have gone to class. Dr. Si said that there is heavy waterlogging outside and asked us not to go out."
Tong Yao nodded, "After raining the whole night, the water level must be high."
Guo Jinnian giggled, "Then it’s a perfect time for us to watch movies indoors."
After they arrived, they had initially planned to go out and explore during the day, but now the outside was all flooded, making it impossible to go anywhere. So, all they could do was watch movies.
As far as Guo Jinnian was concerned, watching movies indoors was more enjoyable than going out to play.
Both agreed that it was more atmospheric to watch horror movies at night, so they decided to watch a comedy. They had not finished watching the movie when it started pouring outside again. Tong Yao, who was laughing at the scene in the movie, became worried at the sound of rain, and walked towards the window.
The water outside hadn’t receded, and now it was raining again. If it continued like this, the traffic system could easily be paralyzed.
Seeing that Tong Yao was still standing by the window, Guo Jinnian followed her and asked curiously, "Yaoyao, why are you standing here and not watching the movie? Are you thinking about Dr. Si?"
Tong Yao pointed at the steps outside the building, "See, the water level has reached there. If it continues like this, it won’t be a good thing."
Guo Jinnian followed Tong Yao’s gaze to where she pointed, but didn’t seem too concerned, "Yaoyao, don’t worry so much. This isn’t our country. Whatever happens, will happen! Natural disasters are not controlled by humans, and no one can stop them. Let’s watch the movie happily. Every second of happiness counts."
