Chapter 628: Chapter 628: Do You Know a Person Named Fu Sen?

Si Chen nodded in agreement, "Xiaohui’s personality doesn’t take after ours, there’s no use minding her business. The more we interfere, the more unruly she becomes. Let her be."

Si Chen once intended to guide Si Xiaohui onto the right path, but she is too ambitious and simple-minded, leading her life in this way. Even now, helping her would be futile, as Si Xiaohui would never change, and would only be more reckless.

The Si family doesn’t owe Si Xiaohui anything. Neither Si Chen nor Si Boyi owe her anything. Si Chen doesn’t plan to interfere in her matters anymore.

Tong Yao saw Si Chen’s decisiveness and breathed a sigh of relief, "I’m glad you can let it go! I was worried that you would still be concerned about Xiaohui. If you guys stepped in to help her, considering Xiaohui’s personality, she’s sure to make trouble again."

"Hmm," Si Chen nodded, agreeing with Tong Yao’s viewpoint, "Let her make trouble! If she doesn’t change, no one’s help will do any good. Only she can pull herself from the pit she’s fallen into."

Tong Yao finished eating her apple, stretched lazily, seeing her yawning, Si Chen softly said, "I’ll prepare some hot water for you. Soak your feet and then sleep."

Yawning, Tong Yao nodded, "Ever since I became pregnant, I have become as lazy as a cat. But luckily I don’t have any other discomforts."

"If you’re tired, sleep. Rest is essential for good health."

Si Chen helped Tong Yao back into the room and then came out to prepare hot water for her, their relationship was just that of a loving couple, full of sweetness in their ordinary lives.

In the blink of an eye, Si Chen’s break ended. Tong Yao reluctantly sent him to the railway station, and then she promptly returned home in Gu Hongwei’s car. Gu Hongwei, just like his character, drove very steadily.

Although he didn’t have much experience in driving, he gave off the vibe of a seasoned driver, especially with Tong Yao in the car, he dared not to drive too fast.

The date for Han Enzhen’s art exhibit was approaching. Tong Yao said, "Hongwei, Han Enzhen’s art exhibit is on the sixth day of the twelfth lunar month. Free up your schedule, and we will attend her exhibit."

Gu Hongwei agreed, "Sure."

Thinking about the matter between Fu Sen and Han Enzhen, Gu Hongwei asked, "Will Mr. Fu be there that day too?"

It wouldn’t be difficult for Fu Sen to find someone in Kyoto, especially someone like Han Enzhen, who has a bit of a family background, it is even easier. Now that Han Enzhen is holding an exhibit, she could easily appear in Fu Sen’s field of vision. 𝓃𝓸𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶

Tong Yao gave a mysterious smile, "There’s an 80% chance that he will be there. Hence, we need to maintain a good relationship with Enzhen. From a friend’s perspective, we should attend the exhibit. From a business standpoint, if Fu Sen really starts a relationship with Han Enzhen, she may end up becoming Mrs. Fu Sen. Regardless of the reason, we should foster good relations with her."

Before Gu Hongwei could respond, Tong Yao added, "Ah Chen told me the Fu family is a big clan. Fu Sen is a businessman, while some people in his family are high-ranking officials. It’s nice to have some shade under such a big tree. We’re all ordinary people with no connections. Although we don’t want to rely on back door favors, it’s good to have someone’s backing, at least nobody would dare to mess with us."

As businesses grow, they are bound to step on the toes of others. The business world is a battlefield. To avoid being used as others’ stepping stones, we should find a tree to shelter under before we become powerful.

Gu Hongwei understood Tong Yao’s reasoning. He didn’t expect seemingly honest Tong Yao to be quite shrewd when needed. He conceded, "Judging by Mr. Fu’s behavior that day, he seems serious about Han Enzhen. If Han Enzhen also develops feelings for him, no doubt she’ll end up being Mrs. Fu."

Tong Yao nodded, jokingly adding, "He’s indeed impressive. Handsome and capable, if I were single and bumped into such a man, I probably wouldn’t resist myself."

Gu Hongwei laughed lightly, "You’d better say that in my presence. If Ah Chen hears this, he will flip the vinegar jar."

Tong Yao chuckled, "You really understand Ah Chen."

In the blink of an eye, two days passed quickly by. Tong Yao woke up early in the morning. Guo Miaomiao and Gu Hongwei also got up early and they all ended up at Han Enzhen’s art exhibit together.

Most of the attendees were influential business people and some young artists. The Han Family’s backing was behind Han Enzhen’s art exhibit, so many people were attending not because they enjoyed art exhibits but for various other reasons.

Tong Yao, Gu Hongwei, and Guo Miaomiao all dressed up for the occasion. As soon as the three of them arrived at the entrance, Han Enzhen greeted them with overwhelming excitement, grabbing Tong Yao’s hand she said, "Yaoyao, I’m so over the moon that you’re here today. I was worried that you wouldn’t show up."

Tong Yao chuckled, "Why would I not come if I promised I’d be here?"

While they were talking, many guests greeted Han Enzhen and stared at Tong Yao and Gu Hongwei, wondering who they were, even as Han Enzhen greeted them warmly.

Han Enzhen didn’t shy away from the attention. Instead, she whispered to Tong Yao, "Yaoyao, stay with me for a while. Some of the visitors are influential businessmen. If they see us getting along well, they might give you face in future business dealings."

Tong Yao’s eyes lit up, "Enzhen, does your family run a business too?"

Han Enzhen shook her head, "We’re not in business, but both my grandfather and father are influential figures in Kyoto."

She didn’t continue, believing Tong Yao, being intelligent, would understand.

Tong Yao had a sudden realization, understanding that Han Enzhen, though seeming naive, was a thoughtful person. Han Enzhen wasn’t directly helping her but was indirectly smoothing the way for her. Tong Yao appreciated this gesture.

Thinking about Fu Sen possibly attending the exhibit, she felt that she should warn Han Enzhen in advance and prepare her mentally.

"Enzhen, I need to tell you something."

Han Enzhen looked curious, "What is it?"

Tong Yao asked, "Do you know someone called Fu Sen?"

"Fu Sen?" Han Enzhen shook her head, "I don’t know anyone with that name. I only know two men with the surname Fu. One is Fu Yiheng, and the other is Fu Linmu..."

Before she finished speaking, she froze. Linmu? That’s the same as Sen, right?

Tong Yao thought the same thing. The two of them exchanged glances and Tong Yao nodded slightly, "That’s right, it’s Fu Sen."

Han Enzhen’s expression changed dramatically, "Yaoyao, how did you meet him?"

Tong Yao replied honestly, "We are involved in business now. He saw your painting at my home when he came over for a business discussion. I wanted to tell you but I didn’t have your contact, so I had to wait until today to let you know."

Han Enzhen swallowed, "He recognized me from the painting? He must have a deep impression of me."

Tong Yao snapped her out of her thoughts, "Your name is on the painting."

Without a signature, it would be difficult for anyone to determine who painted it unless its viewer is a professional in the art world.
