What Tong Yao didn’t know was that as soon as they had left Yu Shiya’s milk tea shop, Si Xiaohui made her exit.
After Si Xiaohui left, the employees discovered that they were short by a few dozen yuan. Suspecting Si Xiaohui of theft, and facing a potential fine from their boss, they immediately phoned Yu Shiya.
Upon receiving the news, Yu Shiya quickly arrived at the store. Seventy yuan was missing from the cash drawer, and Si Xiaohui had left work mid-shift claiming a headache. It was clear that she was the culprit.
After inquiring and obtaining Si Xiaohui’s address, Yu Shiya went straight to her rented place. The more she thought about it on the way, the angrier she became - she couldn’t fathom how such an upright person as Si Chen could have such a sister.
She had regretted having Si Xiaohui around in the first place and had planned to fire her at the end of the month, but Si Xiaohui beat her to it.
It didn’t take long for Yu Shiya to reach Si Xiaohui’s place by taxi. The door was shut, and no one responded despite her repeated knocking. Just as she was about to leave, thinking that Si Xiaohui wasn’t home, she heard a sudden ’thump’ from inside, confirming Si Xiaohui was indeed home.
"Si Xiaohui, if you don’t open the door, don’t blame me for calling the police. I took you in as a favor to your brother, you’ve not been of any help to the shop, yet you went and stole money. If I call the police, be prepared to go to jail."
"I’ll count to three. If you still don’t open the door, I’m heading to the police station. 1..."
Just as Yu Shiya began to count, the door was opened by Si Xiaohui. She only cracked it a bit, revealing a pair of eyes pleading... "Shiya, please don’t call the police. I had no choice, I owed someone money and thought of stealing to pay off my debts. If I don’t pay him back, he’ll kill me."

"You’re keeping a kitten?" Yu Shiya doubted Si Xiaohui’s words. She didn’t seem like the type of person to have a heart for animals.
Dodging the question, Si Xiaohui responded, "Yes, a kitten."
Fearing further inquiry, she changed the subject. "How about this, Shiya? Give me one day. I’ll return the money by tomorrow night, okay?"
As Yu Shiya was about to respond, another noise came from inside the house. Upon seeing Si Xiaohui’s panicked face and how she only cracked the door slightly, a thought struck her. She suddenly pushed open the door with force. Unprepared, Si Xiaohui was knocked to the floor.
Upon entering, Yu Shiya immediately recognized the tied up Tong Yue. "Si Xiaohui, why have you tied up Tong Yue?"
Seeing Tong Yue all tied up, with hope gleaming in her big eyes as though she was saved, Yu Shiya, in the heat of the moment, rushed to untie her.
Si Xiaohui, who had tumbled to the ground, struggled up and quickly shut the door. She picked up a chair from the floor and struck Yu Shiya on her head. Watching Shiya collapse onto the ground, she was soaked in a cold sweat and slumped down onto the floor.
