After a certain point, my eyes started spinning from listening to the two of them.
They were no longer just discussing small matters, but rather they were discussing all the finer details of their plan.
With the way that they considered every single small thing, it really was a lot of information that made my eyes start to spin.
I just couldn't remain in the same room as the two of them anymore since it was making me overwhelmed to listen to them.
But the moment that I came out…
"Are you here? Zwein, where are you?"
I was surprised since normal people wouldn't call my name like this.
The only ones that would call me by name like this were my wives or someone that I was close to. And the voice that was calling me was a voice that I was familiar with and a voice that was quite unique.
"What's going on?" I asked Ariel when she ran over.
"I have something that I need to discuss with you. It's related to the sea witches."
"Sea witches?" I couldn't help asking in a confused and surprised voice, but Ariel just gave a nod before gesturing for me to follow her.
When I arrived at the room that the delegation was waiting in, I was surprised by who it was that had been sent by the sea witches.
It was someone that I definitely didn't expect to see.
It was Dicus who was looking around the room with an excited look on her face. It was like a child that had just come from the countryside, arriving in the city for the first time.
She was so engrossed in looking around herself that she didn't even hear me and Ariel come in.
To the side was Puffer who was watching over all of this with a smile on her face.
We didn't interrupt her as she continued looking around with an excited look on her face.
Though I did look at Puffer with a questioning look since I was curious why they had brought Dicus all the way here.
There was also a part of me that was wondering something…
"If they even sent her here, then does that mean the situation in the Merman Empire is bad right now? Could it be that they're facing pressure against the corruption which is why they sent her away?"
After all, Dicus was the daughter of the former crown prince and Zyra. It could be said that the former crown prince and Zyra were the current leaders among the sea witches, so in a sense, Dicus was a princess just like Ariel.
Well, she was actually a princess as well since the former crown prince was her father.
So for them to send her away at a time like this, it could mean that they were sending her here for the same reason as Ariel.
They were sending her here to keep her safe from the dangerous situation in the Merman Empire.
In the end, it turned out that I was worried for nothing.
The reason that they had come wasn't for what I thought it was.
"I want to have a look at the magic that humans use."
"Huh?" I couldn't help being caught off guard when I heard this from Dicus.
I looked at Ariel and Puffer to see what they would say about this, but it didn't seem like they had anything to say about this. Rather, it seemed like they agreed with what Dicus said which just made me even more confused.
So I had to ask, "Alright, tell me what you mean by this. I have no idea what you're talking about right now."
Ariel was the one that explained in the end.
"Well the sea witches have been learning a few things about the humans from the stories that I and Puffer have been sending back. You should already know that the sea witches are quite zealous when it comes to learning magic, so when they heard about what happened between the races…Well, it's one of the few chances that they would get to learn human magic, so you can understand what happened."
I raised a brow to look at Puffer and Dicus and I could tell what they were thinking from the way that they were looking at me.
But there was still something that I couldn't help being curious about.
"Is it just Dicus that is being sent here to learn human magic or are there other sea witches as well?"
There was an awkward look that was on Ariel's face when she heard this and she didn't answer right away.
It seemed like she was hesitating over something with the way that she didn't say anything.
When I saw her like this, I couldn't help feeling that the thought that I had earlier might actually be the truth. It really felt like something had actually happened with the Merman Empire.
Only it didn't turn out to be the case.
"There are several others that came as well. We only said that we would ask, but you should know how excitable they can be when it comes to these things." Ariel slowly looked at Puffer after saying this as if she was implying something.
It was just that Puffer and Dicus didn't even seem to be listening to her.
It seemed like they were just waiting for my reaction.
From all of this, it was clear that the Merman Empire wasn't in any kind of danger at all.
The reason that they were acting like this was really because they wanted to learn magic from the humans.
With a sigh, I said, "It's not something that I can decide that easily."
Seeing the confused looks that they had, I said, "It's not as if we have that many magicians in the first place. The kind of magic that you want to see is without a doubt the specialized kind of magic that only powerful magicians can wield. If you want to see that, we'll have to make a request to the Sorcery Empire."
Though they seemed a bit disappointed, they did seem to understand what I meant by this.
So in the end, they had me make a request to the Sorcery Empire over this matter.
I wasn't certain what would come of it, but it wouldn't hurt to make the request.
