Chapter 1092: Desperate situation

Suddenly, Vicente found himself once again at the bottom of the sea, where he had seen the golden crystal that was calling him earlier. But now the surroundings were totally different, with the presence of several creatures swimming towards him with less than positive intentions.

Looking down at himself, he understood why. While his mind had been taken elsewhere and he had seen things that he still needed time to understand, he had shown his powers and taken possession of that golden crystal.

The item was now deeply embedded in one of his hands, with golden lines and special characters connecting it to his soul.

At that very moment, Vicente could tell that he was finishing integrating himself into that essence of light, and every one of the creatures, not just peak Grand Magus, but also Sorcerers, were watching him, coveting the crystal and wishing him dead.

But these were not enemies interested merely in obtaining something. Seeing himself in this situation, Vicente’s eyes saw further.

He saw each of the individuals attacking him, for a moment seeing them as if time had stopped. Each of them seemed to have a dark aura following them, a mark like a second shadow, something totally unnatural.

Looking at these shadows, Vicente felt traces of an essence that was difficult to describe going in all directions, but each with unique particularities.

’What is it? Are these beings somehow someone’s puppets?’ He asked himself as he compared these trails of essence to the strings of puppets, identifying those sea creatures, about to attack him with everything, as the puppets’ puppets.

But understanding the situation as it was wouldn’t help Vicente at the moment. Putting aside everything rational he could take from the situation, he turned his attention to the only thing he could do.

Fully back to reality, Vicente clenched his fists and counterattacked, making several of his beautiful pentagrams glow as darkness took over the surroundings.

He had just achieved something related to light, but being on the dark seabed, he controlled his powers of light, completely wiping out the luminosity in the area and promptly making use of the darkness.

The Throne of Darkness formed along with the crown and cloak of darkness, immediately influencing the darkness around the creatures acting against it.

Meanwhile, the ocean floor shook, revealing a few moments later, from a grandiose cloud of dust, several harpoons departing from the ocean floor, going against the creatures around Vicente.

The ones closest to hitting him were repelled against him, while, without hesitation, Vicente made a ritual altar where he stood.

’I have to get away from here. These enemies are not normal at all!’ He thought as he saw how, even as he wounded and limited his enemies on a large scale, they didn’t seem to show enough pain or self-protection to flinch in the face of his powers. On the contrary, the enemies, even when wounded, driven back or beaten in the first barrage of attacks, seemed to have no desire other than to eliminate him and take the glowing crystal in one of his hands. 𝔫𝔬𝖛𝖕𝔲𝖇.𝖈𝖔𝖒

Not only was this crystal very valuable, it was also already integrated into Vicente’s body. Aware that he couldn’t give up the item even if he wanted to, Vice used the rituals that he thought had the best chance of helping him escape.

With Empowerment Ritual, he sacrificed one of the weakest enemies he could get his hands on, using it to boost his own powers.

At the same time, with a type of Cursing Ritual, he tried to bind those creatures to their positions, making large chains wrap around their bodies and attach themselves to the ocean floor.

The metal weapons in the surrounding area covered the bodies of those creatures, forming unique armor for each of them, which immediately tried to restrain them in conjunction with the Vice ritual.

The shadows around the area covered part of the bodies of these beings, forming cocoons of darkness, while the very rules of the surrounding space seemed more geared towards Vicente’s interests.

After this combination of movements, Vicente used his legs to propel his movement towards the surface, starting to swim away without even looking back.

Each of the creatures he had seized shook vigorously when he moved. Initially, they were all restrained. But after a few moments of his initial attempt, the creatures seemed to get bigger and stronger, with the surrounding mana and elements moving in a favorable direction towards them.

The cocoons of darkness on each of them broke, moments before the chains and special armor trying to restrict them exploded from their bodies.

Each of them swam towards him again, now even faster and seemingly more dangerous than a moment ago.

’What the fuck!’ Vicente cursed as he swam as fast as he could, aware that, in the water, he would only have more and more difficulty against those creatures.

Elemental affinities were naturally stronger in environments rich in those elements, thus strengthening compatible creatures. For sea creatures, fighting in the sea was always positive, and they were stronger in the sea. But for land beings, it was the opposite.

Just as a bird would fight better in the air, a fish would fight better in water and a human would fight better on fixed ground. In particular, Vicente would fight better in areas rich in lightning, earth, darkness and light, and not in a place full of water.

To reduce his disadvantage and delay the fight, he swam towards his group. But halfway there, when he found himself close to the illuminated area of the sea, he could no longer hold his position and had to counterattack in order not to be pressured.

This time, far enough away from the dark area, he used the Throne of Light to counterattack, sending a golden pulse from his hands into the bodies of those creatures.

As he did so, his eyes lit up as he noticed the strange auras accompanying those creatures changing, burning as if they were being burned.

Realizing his mistake, Vicente focused fully on his light powers, bringing forth a world of golden spears in the middle of the large underwater area.

As he did so, the creatures changed their expressions, reacting with defensive movements, while sounds of pain came from their mouths.

"That’s right, my chosen one. Show them what you’re capable of."

In the midst of this moment of battle, Vicente’s eyes widened when he heard this comment, glancing up to see a golden figure appearing in the sky, not far above where his ship was.

But not only did the content of the voice make him feel uncomfortable, a deep sensation in his being made him feel a macabre familiarity with the day he felt as if he was being watched.

"Get rid of these Hellish encumbrances and come to me. I will take you on the journey of the true powerhouses of this universe-under my command!" The voice said, as Vicente felt a numb sensation spreading through his body, less and less aware of the creatures being extinguished by his powers in that sea area.

’Shit!’ he thought in a rush, feeling desperate as he lost control over his own being!
