Chapter 936: Chapter 66 Fate Goddess, Hurry Into My Bowl (6.1k)_4

"Second sis, are you certain our eldest sister didn’t follow us?"

"Relax, she wouldn’t dare see me now."

Belldandy softly reassured, then looked at the reflection of the Flame Divine Seal on her forehead in her teacup, and couldn’t help but let out a helpless sigh.

The inevitable still couldn’t be avoided.

Scouty might not be clear on who the chief culprit was but had already prised the gist of the matter from Belldandy’s lips.

Seeing her second sister gloomy, she couldn’t help but mutter under her breath:

"If you ask me, you should’ve just slaughtered all those Dwarves and Giant Dragons or chucked them into the Mist Country. That way, that person would have no way to investigate the cause of the Dragon Disaster, and wouldn’t that solve the problem?"

"Those were innocent lives after all. My issue has nothing to do with them; I can’t bring myself to do that."

Belldandy shook her head in response, then glanced at Scouty and retorted irritably,

"Enough about me, if you swap those Dwarves with people like Scadi you are familiar with, would you do that?"

Scouty pondered seriously for a moment, then helplessly shook her head and said,

"To be honest, I quite like this world as it is, just like this."

Belldandy nodded in agreement and then her eyes flickered with a trace of confusion:

"Speaking of which, don’t you think we’ve changed a lot?"

"In what way?"

"We’ve become more humanlike than before."

"Seems like it."

Scouty nodded in surprise, thought for a while, then gave up helplessly,

"Still, I can’t figure out why."

"Same here, it might just be my imagination."

Belldandy softly reassured, before steering the topic to something else,

"By the way, where’s your cat? Haven’t seen it around these past few days."

Hearing this, Scouty’s face showed a hint of pride and she said:

"I threw it into the Frost Giant’s territory. It has my scent on it, perfect to use as a target for our eldest sister."

Hearing that her younger sister had actually thrown their pet out to attract fire, Belldandy was speechless:

"Isn’t that a bit too much?"

"It’s fine, it’s a grown cat now, can take care of itself. Plus, the Frost Giants should remember my scent, they’ll surely take good care of Ymir. Even if caught by our eldest sister, she can’t possibly take out her anger on a cat, right?"

"That cat’s unlucky to have followed you—can’t even get a full meal and still gets thrown out to be a shield."

"That’s why I set it free, it can come back if it wants to, if not, I won’t insist," Scouty replied with conviction, playing the role of a heartless owner to the end.

Seeing that she couldn’t awaken her younger sister’s conscience, Belldandy had no choice but to let it be.

Meanwhile, Scouty buried her head into Belldandy’s embrace, beseeching affectionately:

"Second sis, it’s not often you come to visit me, you should stay longer this time."

Belldandy nodded and said,

"If nothing unexpected happens, I might not return to Midgard."

"What’s the matter?" Scouty was somewhat surprised.

"I’m avoiding someone." Belldandy pointed to the Flame God Mark on her forehead and said with a bitter smile, "It’s better not to see him. Once I do, I feel somewhat uncontrollably drawn to be close to him."

"It’s all because of that idiot eldest sister!"

Scouty ranted indignantly about the eldest sister she was at odds with, while internally wondering,

"Strange, why didn’t the blessing I cast work? Could it be that guy just doesn’t get it? Maybe I should add fuel to the fire to balance things out?"

"Achoo!"

In the dense forest, Luo En rubbed his slightly itchy nose, bent down, and picked up a piece of charred but intact dead branch from a burnt pit.

With a gentle twist of his fingertips, the branch turned to dust, and a faint arc of electricity sparked and surged.

"Looks like Lord Thor passed by here; we’re on the right track!"

Brynhild responded gravely, and then with a flutter of her swan wings, she ascended to scout from above.

Through the vast winds and snow, she could see a rugged and majestic citadel standing tall on the barren cold plains.

"My Lord, Etheregar City seems to be just ahead!"

"Alright, follow me to have a look."

Luo En dusted off the mud and wood chips from his hands, got up, and with Brynhild, proceeded towards the giant city on the snowfield.
