Chapter 133: 133

Ikenga was still raging at the fact that he was stopped from taking action for something with unknown consequences when he was suddenly transported to a whole new place and in front of him was his mother Nana.

The other gods were also confused at the new location they found themselves in, Mahu was about to ask what was going on when all of sudden behind Nana appeared a huge symbol representing Judge with the hammer symbol making it clear.

The gods watched as the hammer was raised before being dropped down with a sound like a decision was made and then disappeared. The gods suddenly saw Nana tense like she was expecting something.

And there it was, a hole opened in the void where a golden lightning came from striking Nana, who immediately let out a screeching howl as she dropped to the floor weak, the hole disappeared immediately after.

The gods, now forgetting the anger, ran towards their mother. Crepuscular being the one that got to her first as he raised her carefully, Ikenga quickly acted to make a beautiful bed adorned with flowers and leaves with a soft green glow in it meant to heal her.

Crepuscular carried her to the bed and laid her in it, but Ikenga also frowned as he felt the green glow being pushed away from Nana obviously not healing her.

Ikenga frowned, not really comprehending what was going on "What is that mother?" He asked, confusion clear in his voice.

Nana had gotten herself together by this time, the green glow might not have helped but it brought with it a calming feeling which was enough for her, Tapping crepuscular hand to show that it was okay.

She sat and the bed adjusted to her position making it more comfortable, she showed a charming smile to Ikenga who smiled back.

Clearing her throat, she began explaining "Your strength now requires you to know of them, the symbol represents beings called "The Judge" Who exist simultaneously in each verse as they deal out judgment.

"In my case, I broke a law pertaining to world consciousness when I interfered and pulled you guys into my realm" Nana said as the gods all showed confusion on their faces.

Keles spoke up, "That doesn’t require for such punishment you just went through, there has to be more to it"

Nana shook her head "It is just that simple daughter, laws pertains that i was to never interfere but watching as the mortals are about to keel over and turn into unrecognized beast from the exposure of your divinity, i had to do something and this was the result"

Ikenga meanwhile was thinking to himself, "I thought this world was hard enough, now there are multiversal judges who passes out judgment"

Remembering the new law sent to them by Nana right after they woke up, Ikenga asked "So you aren’t the one making the law that you just shared with us during our awakening"

Nana looked at Ikenga "No, the law came directly from them"

Crepuscular asked a question, everyone is now curious to know "Who are this judges and why are they able to impose law and judge who ever they want to"

Nana looked at the serious face of the god before explaining "First there was nothing but the endless void and darkness, then came light. From there came creation of the world and living beings in it. In turn with the living beings birth was the response of the endless void by creating beings of a certain level with each having domain on a certain aspect of life. Example will be concept of space and time, now there are multiple of this beings created you will come to know of them, even meet them in your long Immortal life"

"One of the beings born in those time was a being by the name "Balance" not an amazing name but his name is the exact representation of what he is and is considered one of the most powerful of these beings because of the aspect he is in control of"

"With the existence of balance, came with it a concept that all things must be in balance, the Judges are his agents spread across all multiverse keeping things in balance. Balance existence came with a set of rules that certain beings classified as gods and upwards have to follow, even he himself and other beings like him are not above this rule. There judges are spread out in different categories, there are judges for world consciousness like me, then there is one for origin gods like you and one for ascended gods"

"The new law you got was that you can no longer appear in the mortal world like you used to, only under certain situations or conditions has been fulfilled will you be granted access to appear for a short while" Nana said as the gods now each in a different position, Jaws has a throne made of clouds which he sits on, crepuscular like Ikenga was just floating, while one of Mahu’s hand wrapped around one of Ikenga’s hand as she floated besides him. Keles has a throne made of skull, they each in the new position taking in the information they got.

Ikenga then asked "I thought the laws was already established, what do you mean by the law we got"

"Good, you noticed that. Exactly like you think son, the law is different depending on the world and its origin gods, some origin gods after their first long sleep are only required to expend about 5 percent of their power when they leave their realm, anything beyond that will be punished" Nana said.

"That’s ridiculous" Jaws said from his throne with anger clear in his voice.

"Not really son, you probably haven’t had time to get a real feel on your power level with everything happening but as you all know as you as, you can all easily wipe out the two moons outside our planet if you want to" Nana said, gaining the surprise of the gods.

She continued "This is just the beginning on how powerful you all can truly get once you know more of your origin, now imagine if beings like you and above are able to do whatever they want to when they decide to"

Understanding started appearing in the face of the gods, Nana then spoke up "This why the endless void spawned the existence of the being called "Balance" who handles situation like this"

Keles, with a thoughtful expression, interjected, "But what happens if these laws are broken? What kind of punishment do they entail?"

Nana’s gaze softened as she responded, "The punishments vary depending on the severity of the transgression and the judgment passed by the respective Judges. It could range from temporary banishment to complete erasure from existence depending on the being, our lineage prevents us from such severe punishment"

The gods exchanged concerned glances, realizing the gravity of the situation. Jaws, still simmering with frustration, spoke up, "And who decides what constitutes a violation of these laws? Are there trials, or is judgment swift and final?"

Nana nodded solemnly. "The Judges are not known for leniency, but they are fair. They assess each case meticulously, often consulting with each other across the multiverse before passing judgment. However, their decisions are indeed final."

Suddenly Nana laughed out loud, "You all truly are still too young, thinking that things is always good and bad"

"Our existence, our lineage, doesn’t do good or bad. It means nothing to us, only for the mortals that good and bad applies to us. The judges have to be fair as they also have to face punishment if they do wrong by "Balance" Itself"

Crepuscular, her eyes narrowing in thought, queried, "Is there any way to appeal their judgments? Or are we bound to accept their rulings without question?"

Nana hesitated before responding, "Appeals are possible, but they are rare and difficult to succeed. It requires compelling evidence or extenuating circumstances that were not considered during the initial judgment. Even then, the final decision rests with the Judges."

Ikenga, his expression grave, spoke up, "So, essentially, we must tread carefully, mindful of these laws and the consequences of breaking them."

Nana nodded, her expression sympathetic. "Indeed. Your newfound power comes with immense responsibility. Ignorance of the laws is not an excuse, for now, you are aware of them"

Mahu spoke up from beside Ikenga "How do you know all this information mother?"

Ikenga hearing that also realized that he has overlooked asking where Nana got the information, she can’t have known all these off head.

Nana who by now has gotten herself together, stood up from the bed. Looking at the comfy bed made for her by her son, she smiled before gesturing as the realm was pushed further into her realm, it’s something she plans on using regularly from now on.

Looking back at her children waiting for her answer, Nana asked her own with a smile on her face "You don’t think that i have been sleeping this whole time"
