Iris nodded, "Of course, Your Highness. I welcome any oversight that ensures the safety and well-being of our harpies."
Ursula addressed the council, "It’s settled then. We will proceed with the research under the condition that an oversight committee, consisting of council members and experts, will closely monitor and evaluate its progress. The safety of our people is paramount, and we shall not compromise on that."
The council members exchanged glances, and after a moment of silent agreement, they nodded in unison.
One of the elder who had a constant smile on his face, flashed a red look in his eyes as he raised up his hand, "I would like to be in charge of the oversight committee"
All the council member looked at the new elder, nodding as they looked at Ursula "It will be indeed great if Felix is in charge of the committee"
Molte spoke out this time "I agree with Felix being the one in charge, but he is still fresh and new. I recommend one of the older members to act as his assistance to guide him"
Hearing that Ursula nodded as she appointed Felix to take charge of the oversight committee, at the same time pointed to another elder " Otis, you are to be the assistant of Felix, i believe with you by his side nothing will go wrong"
Meanwhile Felix muscle can be seen twitching under his clothes. Looking around the council and Ursula, Felix thought to himself excitedly "Finally, a chance has presented itself for me to ensure discord among these people"
Felix indeed is no longer the Felix that most elders knew, he has been taken over by another body part of the demon, unlike the one in Björn’s body that isn’t in complete control. This one was more aggressive since it had no choice and gained full control.
It started when Felix hasn’t be promoted to an elder, and was still in the second stage which he was finding to be quite hard, he was one of the harpies who were sent out to pick up the treasures that fell from the sky, that was where he found a whole complete red scaled hand that looked quite fresh.
The demon consciousness at the hand felt when Felix picked him up but unlike its counterpart that takes over completely, it didn’t move and only stayed inanimate. This wasn’t by choice but because the demon sensed someone strong above him up the sky keeping charge of the haripes that were gathering treasure so it knew doing something now was quite stupid.
Felix at first was intrigued by the hand and how it was still in tact after falling from the sky, Felix presented the hard to the elder who was in charge of his group then but the elder tossed the hand back to Felix, according to the elders words "What use can a piece of hand be to our people"
Felix happily took the hand back as he wrapped it up, it will be a nice souvenir to show off to his parents and friends. After the expedition Felix took the hand back home and kept it somewhere in his room as he began meditating.
During his meditation, Felix found it was harder to keep calm and stay in control but he pushed on believing he had to work hard to accomplish his goal which was to break through to the third stage and get a council position.
Before Felix started meditating, the demon consciousness inside the hand was busy trying to restrain itself more since Felix brought it back deep into the Harpies kingdom, its senses had been picking up a lot of danger around it, and being a fresh unscarred hard does nothing but bring attention to it. A wrong encounter with the wrong person can lead to it being exposed.
The demon found out that it no longer cared about becoming a full consciousness again, instead it just wants to survive the precautions it’s in now and not become a plaything or something that is used as a research object because of its uniqueness.
An opportunity presented itself to the demon the moment Felix began meditating, "No one is in the room so it’s no problem for me to merge with this Harpy now" The wrapped demon hand began shaking where it was before the wrapping around it tore off.
A murmuring sound came from the demon hand as it started creeping towards Felix’s mediating figure, the closer the demon hand got, the more disturbed felix got soon the demon was close enough, the demon hand turned into purple mist that merged into Felix head.
Felix at the moment of meditating found the demon hand in his meditation space, "What is that hand doing in my meditation space" Felix thought to himself and in Felix bewildered eyes the hand moved towards the imagination of his wings which was a flaming wing.
"Stop" Felix instinctively shouted to halt the hand but was too late as the hand merged with the ethereal wings. The demon once it merged with Felix got insight to what Felix was doing, and its memory showed a similar power system and its weakness which prompted the demon to act quickly before Felix realizes the power he has over the meditation space.
Once the demon merged with the Ethereal wing, it prompted Felix to immediately begin breaking through to the third stage. Felix, feeling himself breaking through, no longer bothered to mind why the demon hand merged into his wings so he began trying to gain control of the breakthrough.
The demon knowing what Felix was doing chuckled as it spoke out loud for the first time "It’s useless, you already lost the moment you let me merged with the wings, Like it was said before the third stage is a process where Harpies trying to stay and control the rapid mana attribute trying to take space in their wings, the process i already hard but now felix has to fight the demon consciousness in this process.

The demon the demon disrupts the flow of the mana current, this continued until Felix began to mentally wear out and lost control causing his body to catch on fire, the demon took this opportunity to strike at Felix weakened consciousness and easily won gaining him control of Felix body, at the same time the demon controlled the rapid element influx into his wings causing the flames leaving his wing to die out which showed the demon has broken through to the third stage which caused physical changes on the new Felix wings as his before light red wings began taking a deep red color.
This was how the demon merged with the Haripes people and no one has found something wrong and it with its strength gained a seat in the council. This promotion caused the demon to become more restrained as it caught a glimpse of Ursula power and other elders who are also in the third stage.
The demon was beginning to give up as it hadn’t found any opportunity to act like killing things of flesh and blood to make up its demon body, it was starting to think that it might as well become a full fledged Harpies until this opportunity presented itself.
"If this research goes wrong and the people find out about it, It will create a gap among the leaders and the people, a gap which i desperately need" The demon could hardly contain its excitement as it bowed to the elders and Ursula thanking them for the new position it has just acquired.
Ursula seeing as that is done, gestured for Iris to sit down, "Now is there anything else that need to be brought up"
Molte hearing that knew it was his time to talk "Indeed mother, there are few things I believe you and the council should take note of"
"But first, I will start with changes we have noticed in some animals after the rain of fire; It has come to our notice that some animals has changed a lot physically compared to how they were known for before"
"We have no Idea what the reason for this physical change is, but we know it is something not good as the animals have also become more aggressive, more powerful. The most concerning part of it is that a few of this changed beast all have grouped up to take over a certain part of the western continent"
"This shows that there is something of Higher intelligence leading there action, as no one the animals has displayed such behavior before, now most of the areas taken over by those beast now is surrounded with a Purple mist that stretches for miles"
"We have thought about sending people in to see what’s going on but thought it would be best if we brought the issue up with you first" Molte said as he bowed towards Ursula.
