Chapter 323: Chapter 324: Today is Another Day Being Disliked by the Host

After fumbling for another five minutes, she decisively gave up.

She exchanged a lighter from the mall and lit a merry fire.

Although the stove was not big, it could accommodate two pots, one for simmering rice and one for stir-frying dishes. Just perfect.

She added some rice to the pot along with an appropriate amount of water, then plunked a couple of hard logs in the stove and let it slowly burn.

She cut off a big chunk of fat from the meat she’d gotten, diced it, and melted the pig oil out of it in another pot. She’d stored plenty of pots, plates, and spoons in her Space, so she wasn’t worried about having nowhere to store the oil.

The oil residue, sprinkled with a layer of salt and cumin, was crunchy and fragrant. It lingered in the mouth and she set it aside to be used as a side dish later.

She didn’t scoop out all of the oil in the pot, leaving some for stir-frying the dish.

What Su Tang really wanted to make was braised pork belly. The sweet, soft, and fat-yet-not-greasy texture was saliva-makng just thinking about it. Unfortunately, she hadn’t found any sugar yet, so she could only put that aspiration on hold for the time being.

When she found that the Collection Team had found a vegetable similar to round cabbage, Su Tang grabbed one to take back. Paired with the alternating fat and lean slices of pork belly, it would be perfect for a stir-fried dish.

Other than the round cabbage, Su Tang also took some dried mushrooms and wood ears. She soaked them in water using a small pan, which she could use to make soup later.

First, she took out the meat and cut it into evenly thick slices. She tore the round cabbage into pieces and set it aside for later use.

She added onions and ginger to the already hot oil in the pot. As the white smoke rose with a ’sizzling’ sound, the aroma of the onion and ginger quickly filled the air, making it irresistible.

Then Su Tang tossed the slices of meat into the pot and began to stir. The spatula she used was made of special wooden materials by Gaiyin and it wouldn’t scald her hand even if she left it on the edge of the pot for awhile, which was extremely convenient!

The meat slices gradually turned golden brown. The flavor was so tantalizing and appetizing that her tummy rumbled, reminding her that she hadn’t eaten much that morning.

Originally frolicking and playing, Gaiyin and Erha, a man and a dog, squatted in front of the stove, staring at Su Tang cooking the dishes.

With a light chuckle, Su Tang said, "Don’t rush. The meal will taste much better when served with rice."

Gloomy at her response, Gaiyin inquired, "When will the rice be ready?"

"Soon, very soon!"

As she spoke, Su Tang added some salt to the wok and gave it a few more stirs with the spatula.

The aroma grew even richer. Drool dropped from Erha’s mouth like it was free.

"Woof woo~ Woof woo~" Host, I also want to eat meat!

Su Tang was a little surprised, "Oh, you need to eat too?"

Erha immediately seemed anxious, scratching at the ground and spinning in circles, its voice full of complaint.

"Woof woo woo woo~ Woof woo~" I’m a living entity! Of course I need food to survive!

Su Tang nodded nonchalantly, "Alright, alright, I get it. I’ll give you some in a bit...."

Upon hearing this, Erha quieted down significantly, obediently squatting by Gaiyin’s side, its eyes fixed on Su Tang’s cooking.

In just a short while, it was drooling again, quickly forming a sticky, transparent pool at its feet, which was a tad disgusting.

Su Tang said with clear distaste, "Can you keep your mouth shut? Seeing how long your drool is stretching out, it’s even stringing up. You’ve dirtied the entrance of my cave. Will you help me clean up later?"

Erha: "..."

Meekly shutting its dog mouth, it was another day of being despised by the host.
