Chapter 324: Chapter 325: Both Elder Brother and Father Are Jealous Experts
The fire was kept under control, so the rice was ready in no time.
Smelling the familiar aroma in the air, Su Tang felt energized!
The meat slices were just about cooked too. She poured all the round cabbage into the frying pan and continued to stir-fry for a bit before taking the pan off the heat.
She dished up the food and put it into a neither too big nor too small bowl, then handed it to Gaiyin to carry off.
Because she had earlier advised him that the rice would taste better with the dish, Gaiyin, although greedy for food, didn’t touch any of it.
If it was only the three of them eating, even though Gaiyin’s appetite was huge, there was a possibility that they would not finish the whole of the dish combined with the rice.
With this in mind, Su Tang decided not to stir-fry and made a soup using the soaked black fungus mushrooms and meat strips instead.
Just when the soup was about done, Gaiyin arrived back.
In his hand, he held a branch of peach twigs that had been freshly plucked, on which hung several big juicy peaches. It looked fantastic!
Welcoming him excitedly, Su Tang asked, "Tired? The meals will be ready soon. Go wash your hands and get ready for lunch!"
Gaiyin faintly nodded and while he was at it, he took the drooling Gaiyin along to wash his hands too.
By the time the two returned, they found that Su Tang had already portioned the rice into bowls, along with spoons and chopsticks.
Gaiyin cheerfully walked over, seeing the delicious food in front of him, he was relaxed now and curiously observed the white rice in the bowl.
"Sister-in-law, this the delicious food you mentioned? It’s really white, it seems pretty good!"
The grains of white rice looked distinctive, it seemed Su Tang added a bit too much water, so it came out a bit sticky, but this kind of rice actually had a better mouth-feel.
*slurp slurp...*
The sound of the 2 huskies greedily slurping emanated from the corner, much like pigs feasting, their faces full of satisfaction.
Feeling a bit helpless, Su Tang shook her head, "You guys should also start eating, try the taste of the rice. This will be our staple from now on."
Seeing Su Tang leaving her seat, Gaiyin quickly asked, "Where are you going?"
"There’s still some rice left in the pot, I’ll add some water and cook porridge for the cub, I’ll be back soon."
Gaiyin silently sat in his place, staying quiet.
Just as Gaiyin, with chopsticks in hand, prepared to reach for some meat, he suddenly felt the piercing gaze of death from Gaiyin.
Looking at the meat, then at Gaiyin, and then back at the meat.
As he tried to draw his chopsticks towards the meat, he suddenly felt a sharp coldness surround him. When he looked at Gaiyin, he saw him staring back stolidly.
Retreating, he ineffectually placed the chopsticks down, bowing his head like a reprimanded quail, too scared to make a sound.
After a while, Su Tang came back.
Seeing that both guys were sitting neatly in their places, and not a single thing on the table had been touched, she curiously asked,
"Why aren’t you guys eating, do you not like it?"
In an instant, Gaiyin beamed like a radiant sunflower, he enthusiastically offered the chopsticks to Su Tang, "No, no, whatever sister-in-law cooks, I love eating it! I was waiting for sister-in-law to join us at the table, that makes the meal more delicious!"
Gaiyin, who had just revealed a hint of a smile, heard Gaiyin’s words and his face slackened again, he looked at Gaiyin with dissatisfaction.
Feeling a cold shiver, Gaiyin suddenly felt an urge to survive, "Sister-in-law, sister-in-law, actually it was the older brother who taught me to say that!"
