Chapter 603: Chapter 606 Xi’en

𝖓𝖔𝖛𝔭𝖚𝖇.𝔠𝖔𝔪

It took Xi’en a while to realize that he had been rescued by someone.

Aching pulses emanated from his body, a consequence of overusing his abnormal abilities.

He propped up his arm and forced himself to sit, only to find that he was alone, lying on the grassland outside the entrance of the canyon.

Xi’en couldn’t describe the feelings surging within him.

It had taken him painstaking efforts to sneak out of the tribe, which had ended disastrously, engulfing him in regret.

However, now that he had been saved, he found himself back on the Xixili Flatland, and the sense of helplessness began to gnaw at him again.

Xi’en closed his eyes in silent anguish. Was he doomed to live the life that Amu had arranged for him?

No, he didn’t want to!

Whoever coveted the chieftain position of the Ming Deer Clan could have it, he didn’t want it. Not in the slightest!

Xi’en felt tangled emotions, like he’d spilled a mixed bag of feelings.

After a while, he opened his eyes again, silently vowing that if he failed to escape once, he would try twice, and if twice failed, he would attempt thrice! There had to be a time where he emerged successful!

Xi’en straightened up. Something felt odd. He instinctively reached up to soothe his hair, but his hand stilled mid-air.

Where was his hair?

Where was his hair indeed?

Feeling the relatively short hair on his head, the stubbly sensation at his fingertips, Xi’en finally realized what was amiss.

Turns out...his hair was gone.

He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination.

Xi’en felt his head was lighter than usual, and it filled him with a sense of ease and delight!

"Hahaha..."

Xi’en laughed, his laughter loud and joyful.

Upon hearing his laughter, Su Tang and Qiu Mo, who were previously sunbathing on the grass, quickly straightened up.

Sure enough, the sleeping beastman was awake now.

Su Tang waved at him in a friendly manner, "Hi~ You’re finally awake!"

Staring at the two female figures that had suddenly appeared, Xi’en’s laughter froze on his lips, unsure how to react.

Su Tang casually pulled Qiu Mo to sit beside him, "You sure can sleep. I was worried you might be in trouble. What’s your name? How’d you get trapped in the swamp?"

Xi’en contained his laughter and stared coldly at Su Tang, not responding to her inquiries.

Seeing this, Qiu Mo shot Xi’en an annoyed glance, "Can’t you hear us? Or can’t you talk? You’re so rude, beastman! We saved you, for crying out loud!"

Su Tang tugged at Qiu Mo and then turned back to Xi’en with a smile, "We mean no harm. We saw you unconscious in the forest when we came in, so we brought you along. If your tribe is around, you can return to them. We won’t hurt you."

Upon hearing Su Tang’s words, a flicker of emotion flashed in Xi’en’s eyes. He asked in a soft voice, "You...are you from the outside?"

"Yes."

Xi’en promptly asked, "Then how did you get in?"

Not looking at each other, Su Tang and Qiu Mo stayed silent.

Xi’en realized he might have been too abrupt in his inquiry. He smiled apologetically,"I mean no harm. If you could find a way in, then you must be able to find a way out. Could you please take me along with you when you go? I promise I won’t cause you trouble!"
