Chapter 604: Chapter 607: The Young Master of the Western Ming Deer Clan
Xi’en looked at Su Tang with a pleading gaze, a hint of uneasy shyness hidden deep within his eyes.
Unlike the other Beastmen Su Tang had encountered in the Beast World Continent, Xi’en did not carry the same roughness associated with Beastmen. Whether in physique, appearance, or voice, Xi’en seemed like a cultured and refined gentleman.
He was like the warm winter sun, not blinding but emitting a comforting warmth.
This was the first time Su Tang had encountered such a refined scholarly Beastman in Beast World, she was genuinely surprised.
However, even though she was surprised, she did not consent to Xi’en’s request. She refused him saying, "I am sorry, I can’t promise you that."
The answer was as expected. Xi’en looked down somewhat disappointed.
He understood that his request was somewhat demanding, but when pushed into a corner, it was the only way out.
Standing up, he faintly smiled, "It’s okay, I was being rude. I’m sorry if I’ve caused you any trouble."
Su Tang and Qiu Mo also stood up, "It’s fine..."
Xi’en’s gentle voice broke in again, "My name is Xi’en. Do you need help with something in the Xixili flatlands? If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask. It’s the least I can do in return for the favour of saving my life."
Su Tang pondered for a bit she cautiously broached, "Actually, we come here as there is something..."
Xi’en smiled lightly, "Go ahead!"
"We are here on behalf of Clan Chief Ji Hu of the Antelope Tribe. An outbreak of the Mountain God’s Wrath is occurring in the Wilderness. It is no longer habitable, thus the Antelope Clan has relocated to Peach Blossom Land. The Clan Chief of the Antelope Tribe said that every season, the Ming Deer Clan of the Xixili Flatland would visit them to exchange for salt. However, as they no longer live in the Wilderness, he fears the Ming Deer Clan may make the pilgrimage in vain. Hence, he sent us to notify the Ming Deer Clan," Su Tang responded.
While Su Tang wasn’t telling the complete truth, as she was unsure of the identity of the beastmen in front of her, it was best to tread carefully.
Xi’en nodded as if in a dream, he murmured, "I see, how could such a thing happen in the peaceful Wilderness? Is the Antelope Clan safe? And where is this Peach Blossom Land? I’ve never heard of it before."
Su Tang feigned helplessness, "Well...I came looking for the Ming Deer Clan. Are you a Beastman from the Ming Deer Clan?"
Realization dawned on Xi’en, he quickly explained to Su Tang, "I apologize for not making this clear earlier. My name is Xi’en, I am the young master of the Ming Deer Clan. Since you were sent by Clan Chief Ji Hu, please come back with me." 𝒏𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝒄𝙤𝙢
Upon hearing Xi’en’s words, Su Tang was genuinely surprised!
She had guessed that Xi’en might be a Beastman from the Ming Deer Clan, but she never expected him to be the young master of the Ming Deer Clan!
However, why would the young master of the Ming Deer Clan want to leave the Xixili flatland? And how was it that he almost died outside the canyon in the Poisonous Fog Forest?
While Su Tang was riddled with questions deep within, she knew now was not the time to ponder over these matters.
So, she said again, "So you are the young master of the Ming Deer Clan, nice to meet you. I am Su Tang and she is Qiu Mo, both of us are from Peach Blossom Land. Alongside us, came three other Beastmen who went to scout the way and will be back soon. Could we trouble the young master to wait with us?"
Without much thought, Xi’en readily agreed, "Alright."
