Chapter 699: Chapter 703: Cooperation
The Beastman was startled, his heart pounding like thunder, and his voice became incredibly high-pitched from fear.
"Young Master, he’s actually attacking me. If you don’t come out, I’m going to be killed!!"
As his words fell, the door to an adobe house straight ahead was opened, and Young Master Bai Que was leaning against the door with a playful smile on his face.
Just as he was about to speak, a golden light flew towards him, prompting Bai Que to step back involuntarily.
"Thud——!!"
A small knife was stuck in the ground where Bai Que had just been standing, with the blade buried deeply and the handle lightly trembling.

Gaiyin shot him a cold glance, "I despise being manipulated by others the most."
Bai Que’s face twisted, it seemed like he wanted to rush over and fight Gaiyin.
Just then, a woman’s voice came from inside the house, "Alright, Queque, let them in."
"Yes, Mother." Bai Que, with a respectful look, bowed slightly toward the people inside the house, then turned to Gaiyin and the others, "My mother wishes to meet you. Please come in."
Gaiyin shot Bai Que a cold glance, put away the blade in his hand, and walked straight to Su Tang’s side, intending to leave, completely disregarding their words.
Bai Que was about to laugh with rage. It was the first time someone had so blatantly disrespected him.
Just as Gaiyin and his companions were about to leave the alley, Bai Que suddenly raised his voice, "If you and your woman don’t want to lose your lives for no reason, I suggest you come in."
These words indeed affected Gaiyin, and he abruptly halted.
Su Tang looked at him worriedly, "Ayin, Let’s not listen to him. Who knows what kind of trap awaits us inside."
Gaiyin squeezed Su Tang’s hand, giving her a light smile, then turned to Bai Que, "You’ve gone to great lengths to lead us here, presumably to avoid the king’s eyes. Meeting us in secret can only mean you intend us to betray the king. I can’t think of any other reason."
There was applause from the house, followed by the woman’s voice, her tone cheerful and not at all embarrassed about being exposed.
"Well said, that’s indeed why I had you brought here."
Gaiyin continued, "The king and I are partners. I have no reason to betray him. Conversely, you don’t even dare to show your face. I refuse to cooperate with someone like you."
Bai Que was enraged at his words!
"How dare you! Just because you are the White Tiger Young Master doesn’t mean you can talk to my mother like this."
Bai Que waved his hand, and a circle of fire sprung up around Gaiyin and his companions. Despite having no fuel, the fire blazed fiercely.

Bai Que stiffened, then laughed offhandedly, "Ah, you found out. Whatever shall we do? If we can’t cooperate then I suppose I’ll have to reluctantly kill you..."
Gaiyin stared at him coldly, "Feel free to try. We’ll see who gets to keep their life."
Their gazes met over the firewall.
