Chapter 778: Chapter 782: The Third Test 15
Xi’en turned to Qiu Mo and said, "Can you help me find some white pearls?"
Qiu Mo nodded, quickly searched around and gave a handful of white pearls to The White Bird.
The White Bird turned its head away defiantly.
Its face expressed ’Even if I die of thirst, I will not touch a single water droplet from the white pearls!’
Qiu Mo held out the pearls, looking helplessly at Xi’en.
Xi’en patiently explained, "Except for preventing Beastmen from transforming, we haven’t found any other issues with the water in the white pearls. When you landed, you crushed a pearl. Try to transform now."
The White Bird closed his eyes.
In just a few moments, he opened his eyes again, full of shock!
Seeing this, Xi’en smiled softly, "Now you believe me, right? I wanted to warn you earlier, but you moved too quickly for me."
The White Bird gave a dry, silent chuckle.
Xi’en continued to persuade him, "Since you can’t transform anyway, you might as well drink some water from the white pearls to relieve your thirst. Your body won’t be able to stand it otherwise."
The White Bird looked extremely uncomfortable.
He stared complexly at the white pearls in Qiu Mo’s hand, as if intending to bore a hole through them with his gaze!
After a long time.
The White Bird finally conceded, reaching out his neck to take the white pearls from Qiu Mo’s hand and put them in his mouth.
After some relief, he indulged himself by consuming hundreds of white pearls consecutively.
It was as if he was trying to make up for all the water he had lacked for so long.
While The White Bird indulged himself here, the outermost clear barrier began to move slowly inward.
Gaiyin and Su Tang could clearly feel the pushing force on their hands placed on the Barrier.
Looking at Gaiyin with shock, Su Tang said, "The Barrier is actually moving inward! But why?"
Frowning, Gaiyin looked at the sand dunes in the distance, "Not only that, look at the speed of the Insect Beasts. It’s increased."
There was stiffness in Su Tang’s face.
Truth be told, just from thinking about the vast amount of snakes, scorpions, spiders, and centipedes, she would rather die on the spot than dare to look at them!
But recalling that these creatures might be key to passing the third round of the test, Su Tang took a few deep breaths.
After encouraging herself repeatedly in her mind, finally, she mustered the courage to look up.
The sight was overwhelming, endless and dense!
A scorpion the size of Su Tang’s palm was walking proudly towards her, its tail hook aquiver.
The curved hook on its tail was glistening black in the sun, indicating high toxicity at first glance!
A countless number of spiders and centipedes, stepping upon each other, all mixed up, amid which were interspersed sand snakes of varying sizes.
After one glance, Su Tang looked away.
Her legs felt weak.
Now all the insect beasts she was afraid of, whether they were legless or had multiple legs, were all present!
Worse still, there were so many that it made her scalp numb!
Gaiyin looked at Su Tang with concern, "What’s wrong? Are you okay?"
Su Tang shook her head stiffly.
Gaiyin didn’t delve deeper and continued, "We should stay here a little longer to see if we can understand the cause behind the movement of the Barrier and the unusual behavior of the Insect Beasts."
