Chapter 779: Chapter 783: The Third Test 16

Su Tang’s face was numb, devoid of any expression, as she stiffly nodded in agreement.

Gaiyin tightly adhered his hands to the Transparent Barrier, sensing it minutely, trying to find something different about it.

But, unfortunately...

No matter how hard he focused, the Transparent Barrier did not move an inch. Even if there was some movement, it was only slightly noticeable, the kind that one could ignore.

They had been here for nearly an hour, without any gains.

Helplessly, Gaiyin led Su Tang back.

The sun was still high in the sky, immovable, just as it was when they first arrived.

The incessant heat reflected off the sand onto the surface, making the entire desert unbearably dry and hot. Everyone could only try to soothe their restless hearts by continually absorbing the moisture from the white pearls.

When they returned to their resting area, a white sparrow came seeking them, carrying Xuan Shui.

He cut straight to the chase, "Regarding this round of testing, what are your views?"

Gaiyin furrowed his brow, seemingly deep in thought.

Observing this, Su Tang remarked, "You mentioned the Barrier is shrinking inward, which we just saw."

The white sparrow nodded faintly, "Its speed is inconsistent, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, and sometimes it doesn’t move at all. It’s impossible to figure out how it’s shrinking or why it’s shrinking."

Su Tang countered, "No, I believe that its shrinkage must follow a certain pattern, perhaps we missed something."

The white sparrow slightly lowered his eye lids, not denying Su Tang’s thoughts.

But then what did they overlook?

Yadang, on the side, provided a new thought, "Why does the water in the white pearl prevent Beastmen from undergoing Beast Transformation?"

People didn’t quite understand what Yadang was trying to express.

So Yadang rephrased, "Or should I say, if the Beastmen could transform, could they easily pass this round of testing?"

After his reminder, everyone’s thought process began to get a faint outline, but it still felt incomplete.

Su Tang thought for a moment and asked, "So basically, the prerequisite for this round of testing is to prevent all Beastmen from transforming?"

Yadang nodded, "That’s a possibility. Otherwise how would you explain that nothing has happened although we have been here for so long?"

The white sparrow clenched his fists in private, "So, according to you, all the Beastmen present should drink the water from the white pearl to ensure they won’t transform, and then the exam will start, right?"

Yadang, clearly irritated, glared at the white sparrow, "Don’t you understand human language? I said it’s just a guess, just a possibility!"

The white sparrow stared back at Yadang, a dark look in his eyes.

The two of them seemed like a powder keg ready to explode, their confrontation teetering on a knife’s edge, each breath filled with determined defiance.

Su Tang shook her head helplessly, and glanced at Xi’en.

Xi’en quickly understood and stepped forward to pacify the white sparrow.

Su Tang then signaled Qiu Mo, who also understood and whispered something in Yadang’s ear.

Then, the tense atmosphere diffused as quickly as it had built up.

Xuan Shui on the side was speechless.

The white sparrow, having recovered from the confrontation, decided not to stoop to Yadang’s level and turned his attention to Gaiyin.

"What do you think?"

Gaiyin casually replied, "Wait."

That response left the white sparrow feeling quite depressed.

Could these people not elaborate a bit more? It was enough to drive him crazy!

But before he could ask another question, Su Tang blinked her eyes in curiosity and chimed in, "Wait for how long? We don’t need to do anything?"
