Chapter 835: Chapter 839: The Fourth Trial 12
Accompanied by a shower of falling stone chips and rising dust, several sketches with clear lines appeared on the mountain face.
Everyone took several steps back in order to get a clearer and more direct view of the content above.
The first drawing depicted an irregular rectangle enclosing an arched semicircle.
After studying it for a while, Su Tang finally guessed that what was depicted was This Cave that they were seeing now.
The second painting was also very simple, featuring two rectangular frames one above the other, each containing an irregular curve with multiple small dots at both ends.
Inside the two frames, the number of small dots differed.
This drawing left everyone somewhat puzzled.
"Is this supposed to be the clue? There’s no lead at all. Cub, can you understand it?"
Yadang turned his head, his face screwed up in confusion as he looked at Su Tang.
With her brows furrowed tightly, Su Tang held her chin thoughtfully with her fingers, her brain working rapidly.
But after staring for a good while, she still couldn’t discern any clues.
With no other choice, she turned her gaze to the next drawing.
The third painting featured two vertical lines with a pattern resembling a small Hourglass to the right of the right line.
The fourth drawing was very similar to the second one, with two rectangular frames stacked vertically. One frame contained evenly spaced pair of dots, while the other frame had evenly spaced three dots.
The fifth painting also showed two vertical lines, but this time, there were several small dots irregularly spread between them.
The sixth painting again showed two vertical lines, with the right line accompanied by a pattern resembling a small horn.
As for the seventh painting...
Su Tang couldn’t help but fall silent after seeing it.
Was this glaring Arabic numeral 6 there in case she failed to choose the right one?
So was this considered cheating? Or was it cheating? Or was it cheating?
Seeing Su Tang’s strange expression, the rest interpreted it as her also being at a loss.
Therefore, Yadang, annoyed, ran his fingers through his hair, "What kind of a clue is this? It’s better not to have received anything!"
To Yadang, these patterns were nothing more than a bunch of lines and dots; he couldn’t understand the horn and Hourglass symbols, much less the Arabic numeral.
It wasn’t just him, though; everyone present, except for Su Tang, was completely confused.
For a moment, no one spoke.
Taking a Deep Breath, Su Tang revisited the seven paintings from start to finish and gradually began to get an idea.
She cleared her throat and said, "If I’m not mistaken, each of these images represents a Cave. Disregarding the Cave we’re facing, which is the first drawing, we still need to pass through six more Caves."
While speaking, she stepped forward and pointed at the second drawing, "This should be the clue to the first Cave we’re looking for, though we don’t yet know what it means."
Then, moving on to the third painting, Su Tang explained, "This symbol represents the Hourglass, the one we’ve seen in some of the previous trials. Think about it, doesn’t its shape resemble a bit? Hourglasses generally symbolize time, so the second Cave might be related to time."
Yadang nodded thoughtfully and, pointing to the horn symbol on the sixth painting, asked, "And what does this mean?"
Su Tang elucidated, "This is a horn, which should be related to sound."
Without waiting for further questions, Su Tang directly explained the last painting, "The last Cave should be number six, I’m ninety percent certain of it."
