Chapter 229: Another Kill

"I will fight you!" a blue-haired soldier named Marcus jumped into the arena.

"Marcus, avenge Malric!"

"Show no mercy, Marcus!"

"He killed Malric, so make sure he pays for his actions!"

People of the Tuiziya Kingdom voiced out their hatred toward Ren.

They even openly told Marcus to kill Ren because they no longer cared about the rules.

What they wanted was only one.

Ren’s death!

Ren had killed Malric, so he needed to die.

"Did you hear that? They are asking me to kill you." Even though Ren had killed Malric easily, Marcus showed no sign of fear because he saw himself as someone stronger than Malric.

As long as he acted carefully and kept his mind calm, he believed he would win the fight because, from his point of view, Ren had only killed Malric in one move due to luck.

"Oh? Does that mean you want to have a death match with me?" Ren asked calmly.

"Yes. Let’s have a death match." Marcus answered confidently.

Ren shifted his gaze to the people behind Marcus and said, "Hey, the Tuiziya Kingdom! You hear that, right? He wants to have a death match, so don’t complain if your fighter ends up dead again."

"You will be the one dying in the arena!" Marcus retrieved his spear from his space ring and swung it forward, taking advantage of Ren being distracted to launch a surprise attack.

But just as the tip of his spear was about to land on Ren’s forehead, his body transformed into blue lightning and disappeared from his spot.

"Since you want a death match, you can die now." Ren reappeared behind Marcus and swung his sword, severing his head from his body.

*Dug...

His body fell, and his head rolled on the arena floor.

Even though Marcus was a powerful awakener, he was still a weakling in Ren’s eyes, so Ren could kill Marcus as easily as he killed Malric.

"Well done, man!"

"Haha. Great!"

"Amazing! He collected another head. Haha!"

"Hey, Tuiziya Kingdom, another one of your fighters died. Haha."

"I thought he was stronger than their previous fighter. It turned out he was as weak as the previous one. Haha."

"Shouldn’t this be expected? After all, they are all weaklings. Haha."

The people of the Veneian kingdom took the opportunity to praise Ren and make fun of their enemies.

As for the people of the Tuiziya Kingdom, they could only grit their teeth and stare at them angrily because they lost two fights in a row.

"The duel ends here for today!" Commander Charles didn’t want to lose another powerful subordinate, so he called off the fight. "Let’s head into the fort."

Two of his subordinates took the corpses of the fallen fighters and returned to their fort.

The people of the Veneian Kingdom mocked them again, saying they were cowards and pathetic bastards who only knew how to talk big but could not win a fight.

Once their enemies had left, they returned to their fort as well.

----

"Leader, I’m sorry for losing the fight," Kairos, who was lying on the bed, apologized to Ren.

He felt like he had ruined the reputation of their organization because he lost in front of thousands of people.

"I never said you can’t lose a fight because it’s normal to be defeated in battle. I believe every powerful awakener in this world has lost at least once. I just want you to learn from this defeat and grow stronger." Ren didn’t care about Kairos’ defeat because it was also a part of his learning to grow stronger.

"Leader..." Kairos’ eyes welled up with happy tears because Ren didn’t blame him or get angry at him.

"Then, leader, have you ever been defeated in a fight before?" Elian asked curiously.

"No. But I’ve been in life-and-death situations many times." Ren was referring to his new life when he said this because he had lost a fight in his previous life.

His subordinates’ eyes shone brightly.

’As expected of our leader, he is sure amazing!’

They idolized him even more after finding out that he had never lost in a fight before.

"Kairos, I never said you can’t lose a fight, but I won’t tolerate it if you lose to the same person twice," Ren said. "Once is acceptable, but twice is a humiliation. Since I’ve killed Malric, your goal now is to become stronger than the current you. Do you understand?"

"Understood, leader!" Kairos answered as he clenched his fists, determination burning in his eyes as he vowed to train even harder after recovering.

Ren smiled in satisfaction before shifting his attention to his other underlings. "You guys should train hard too. Otherwise, I won’t take you to the main continent in the future."

"Understood, Leader!" They answered in unison.

Ren nodded before finally walking out of their room.

"You are a good leader, Ren." Althea knew what he said to his subordinates because she was behind the door.

"Queen Althea?" Ren didn’t expect her to be outside his subordinates’ quarters.

"So, are you planning to go to the main continent in the future?" she asked curiously.

"Yes." he answered, "Since my main organization is there."

"Main organization?" she tilted her head in confusion.

"When I went to the Moon Temple, I met a spirit named Finley." He told her that he was Finley’s successor, so he was the new leader of the Moon Palace.

"I didn’t know so many things had happened in the Moon Temple." She had previously thought that he only got the inheritance, but now, she finally realized she was wrong.

"I also have another reason to go to the main continent," Ren was referring to his family when he said this.

"Another reason? What is it?" she inquired.

"Secret." Ren answered as he winked his left eye.

"Bad young man!" she stated.

"Hehe." He chuckled happily, as if being labeled a bad young man was something to be proud of.

Meanwhile, in the meeting room of the Tuiziya Kingdom’s fort, Commander Charles was talking with King Aldric.

He reported what had happened during the duel because it was part of their plan.

"Who is that man?" King Aldric inquired.

"I don’t know his name, but he has a handsome face," Commander Charles described Ren’s appearance in detail.

King Aldric recalled someone as he listened to Commander Charles. "Ren?"

"Ren? Do you mean he is the one who has been causing trouble for you, Your Majesty?" Commander Charles inquired.

"Yes." King Aldric responded, "So, he joined the Veneian Kingdom, huh?"

"Oh, right, Your Majesty. Aside from his subordinates, I noticed two women wearing black veils earlier. I still don’t know who they are, but my instincts tell me they might be the crazy queen and her daughter." Commander Charles also kept a close eye on the people of the Veneian Kingdom during the duel because it was a good opportunity to gather information about them.

"The crazy queen and her daughter?" King Aldric was startled by the report. "How certain are you that they are really the queen and her daughter?"

"More than sixty percent." Commander Charles explained his reasons.

He said it would have been very difficult for the Moon Organization to join the Veneian Kingdom if Queen Althea had not allowed it because Ren was from Nightshire City.

"Gather more information about them. If they really are the crazy queen and her daughter, we will change our target to them," King Aldric ordered.

"Understood, Your Majesty." Commander Charles responded.

"About your subordinates who fell in the duel, don’t feel too sad about them." King Aldric said, "Once everything is ready, you will have your revenge. You can even kill all of them later."

Commander Charles nodded. "Thank you, Your Majesty."

Shortly after that, King Aldric cut off the communication.

Commander Charles walked out of the communication room with rage burning in his eyes.

’Ren, just you wait. I will make you pay for everything.’

----

’I have called them, so it’s time to sleep.’

Even though it was still 09:00 pm, he decided to sleep.

He didn’t wait for Althea because she had never come to his chamber since they arrived at the border.

To his surprise, Althea’s voice rang out shortly after that.

"Ren, are you still awake?" she inquired.

Ren opened his eyes and turned to the door.

’Queen Althea?’

He immediately told her to enter.

Once she closed the door, she approached him with a smile on her pretty face. "What are you doing?"

"Just lying on the bed," he answered, "Are you going to sleep with me tonight?"

She sat on the edge of the bed and responded, "It depends on your service. If I’m satisfied, I will sleep with you. If not, I will return to my chamber later."

"Service?" he was startled by her answer. "Why does that sound so lewd?"

"Lewd? Are you thinking about something lewd right now?" she said with a teasing smile before finally lying beside him.

"No." he answered, "I’m referring to your words. You mentioned service, so my mind went dirty. You know, service usually implies... adult things."

"Then, blame your mind for thinking something dirty. Hehe," she giggled.

The corner of his lips twitched.

’This lady...’

He could only shake his head.

Then, the duo continued talking.

At first, she only lay beside him, but in the middle of their conversation, she moved into his arms because she wanted to feel his warmth.

Of course, both of them acted normally.

After all, they had slept together every night on their way to the border.

"Ren, what is your other reason for wanting to go to the main continent?" she asked.

When Ren was about to tease her, Zaria’s voice rang out.

"Ren, are you still awake?" Zaria inquired.
