Chapter 228: Ren Get Into the Arena

"Well done, man!"

"Hey, Tuiziya Kingdom! Look at your fighter! He is unconscious! Haha."

"Hey, Renan! If you want to sleep, go back to your room. Don’t sleep on the battle ring. Haha."

"It’s so funny! Haha."

Even though Kairos was not from their kingdom, he was representing them, so they were happy with his victory.

"Healing mage, take Renan and treat him," Commander Charles ordered.

As soon as Renan was taken from the arena, Commander Charles summoned Malric with a glance.

"Malric, get in the arena and defeat him." Commander Charles chose Malric as their next fighter because he was one of his strongest subordinates.

"Understood, Commander." Malric responded.

Just as Malric was about to head to the battle ring, Commander Charles stopped him by grabbing his right shoulder.

"I’ve changed my mind. Don’t just defeat him. Kill him!" Kairos was a member of the Moon Organization, so Commander Charles wanted him dead. "But make it look like an accident. Don’t worry about the aftermath. I will handle it."

Malric’s lips curled up into a grin. "I will make sure he doesn’t see another sunrise."

"It’s Malric! He is our next fighter!"

"Great! We will win this duel for sure!"

"Of course! He is one of our geniuses. There is no way he will lose to that man."

"Malric, defeat him! Show him your strength!"

"Malric, crush him in no time so that they will know the difference in strength between us!"

"That’s right! Show him no mercy!"

The spirit of the people of the Tuiziya Kingdom rose once more when they saw Malric walking toward the arena because he was one of their strongest awakeners.

Once he stood before Kairos, Malric said, "Get ready! I’m going to crush you."

"Tch! Another annoying man!" Kairos wasted no time and shot his arrow.

To his surprise, Malric didn’t launch an attack.

He even remained in his position as if he didn’t see the flaming arrow flying toward him.

’Flaming arrow?’

Just as the arrow was about to hit him, Malric raised his right fist.

Boom!

A thunderous sound echoed through the entire area as the arrow shattered into pieces.

Malric didn’t use a weapon to destroy the flaming arrow.

He only used his fist to shatter it.

It was as if the arrow was only as powerful as tofu.

"Are you trying to tickles me? You need a powerful attack if you want to hurt me, not a pathetic one like this." Malric mocked Kairos’ attack.

"Maybe he hasn’t had breakfast yet. Haha!" The people of the Tuiziya Kingdom burst into loud laughter.

"Then, I will grant your wish and use powerful skills." Right after his voice faded, Kairos attacked Malric again.

Like before, Malric could effortlessly block or destroy Kairos’ attacks.

Even though Kairos had not lost yet, it was clear crystal to everyone that Malric held the upper hand in the fight because he displayed no sign of strain, while Kairos was visibly growing more frustrated and exhausted with each failed strike.

"Alright. I will stop playing around and end this boring fight." Malric accelerated his movements.

Now, there were four figures of Malric rushing toward Kairos.

No!

It was not a clone magic!

Malric was simply moving so fast that afterimages were left in his wake.

Kairos pulled back the bowstring and fired two arrows, aiming at two Malrics at once.

Despite being pierced by the arrows, Malric remained unharmed because the arrows had struck only afterimages.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Kairos was being attacked by Malric from all directions at an overwhelming speed.

Head, chest, back, arms: almost every part of his body was getting hit.

Kairos could not match Malric’s speed, so he could not defend himself effectively, causing him to struggle to stay on his feet.

Boom!

Kairos was slammed violently into the arena floor.

"Cough..." blood splashed out of Kairos’ mouth, and he felt like his body was breaking apart from the inside.

"It’s over now!" Malric leapt high into the air and took out his sword.

’Starbreaker Slash!’

His sword was enveloped by tiny dots of colorful light.

Right after he swung his sword, a crescent arc of colorful light shot forward, slicing through the air in silence.

Kairos was heavily injured, so he could only grit his teeth when the powerful slash flew toward him.

’Leader, I’m sorry.’

When the slash was about to hit him, a radiant golden bell materialized, enveloping him and protecting him.

*Ding...

A deep, resonant chime echoed as the golden bell reflected a portion of the strike.

However, the reflected attack didn’t hit Malric because he had already landed on the arena floor, leaving the reflected slash to cut through nothing but air.

"Leader..." Kairos recognized the owner of the skill instantly because he had seen Ren using the Golden Bell Divine Shield skill many times.

"Veneian Kingdom, why did you interrupt our fight?" Malric was furious because Kairos would have been dead if the Golden Bell had not protected him.

"This is not a life-or-death duel. Why did you try to kill him?" Ren decided to interfere because Malric tried to his Kairos.

"What do you mean by saying my subordinate tried to kill him?" Commander Charles defended Malric. "The fight is not over, so it’s only natural for my subordinate to attack again."

"That’s right! You should feel ashamed for interfering in the duel!" one of Commander Charles’ subordinates added.

"Young man, anything can happen in the arena because weapons have no eyes." Commander Charles said, "Your fighter should have understood that before stepping into the ring."

He then continued, "And to begin with, there are no rules here. As long as the opponent isn’t unconscious, hasn’t admitted defeat, or hasn’t left the arena, the fight goes on."

They still had no idea who Ren was.

Even though they had received news of what he had done to their kingdom, but they had never seen his portrait, so they thought he was only a young awakener, nothing more than that.

"Weapons have no eyes, huh?" Ren jumped into the arena and stood next to Kairos. "Go back and treat your injuries."

"Understood." Kairos was helped by Raul when he had a hard time standing up.

"What? You want to fight me?" Malric made fun of Ren because Ren looked like someone who only had a handsome face.

"I didn’t expect him to step into the arena today." Althea suddenly could not wait to see the fight because she had never seen him fight before.

"Ren!" even though Zaria believed in him, she couldn’t help but worry because Malric’s speed was incredible.

"You can drink a potion if you want to." Since Malric had fought Kairos earlier, Ren gave him the chance to recover.

"What is this? Are you looking down on me?" Malric was unhappy with Ren’s behavior because Ren’s words made it sound like he was being underestimated. "Even though I just finished a fight, I still have enough energy to defeat someone like you."

He then continued, "Instead, I should be asking you if you’re sure about fighting me? You could die, you know?"

Ren retrieved his Aether Weapon and turned it into a sword. "Since you don’t want to drink a potion, then let’s fight right away!"

"I’ve given you a chance to leave in one piece, so don’t blame me if you don’t walk away alive." Malric tightened his grip on his sword and charged at Ren.

"It’s that move again!"

"I hate to admit it, but he is so fast!"

"Can Ren handle him?"

"Let’s believe in him."

Some people looked worried because they didn’t know how strong he was.

Ren remained calm as three figures of Malric rushed toward him because he already knew which one was real.

"Die!" all three figures shouted as they attacked him at once.

*Slash...

Ren swung his sword once.

In the next second, Malric’s head was severed from his body.

Blood burst from the cut as his head flew into the air.

*Silence...

The entire area turned into silence.

Malric was a powerful awakener, yet Ren could kill him in one move.

He even killed Malric effortlessly, as if he were killing an insect, not an awakener.

Aside from his underlings, everyone on both sides was stunned.

They could even hear the sound of Malric’s head hitting the arena floor because no one made a sound.

"He is as strong as the rumors say." Althea was the first to come to her senses.

Zaria didn’t say anything, but she looked at him in amazement.

’Amazing!’

She finally realized that her concerns had been completely unnecessary.

"You! Why did you kill him?" Commander Charles roared in fury. "This is not a death match! Why did you take his life?"

"Didn’t you just say weapons have no eyes?" Ren responded calmly. "I simply swung my sword. Who would have thought that he would die from my simple attack."

"Haha! I like his answer!"

"Damn! He looks so cool!"

"Hey, Tuiziya Kingdom, why are you angry? If you want to blame someone, blame him for being unable to take the hit."

"That’s right. Ask him why he is so weak!"

"Brother, he is already dead. How could he answer their question?"

"Ops! I forgot."

"Haha."

They sided with Ren and mocked the Tuiziya Kingdom since they were the ones who had started it all.

"Grr..." Commander Charles gritted his teeth as he stared at Ren with his bloodshot eyes.

Malric was one of his strongest subordinates and he was also a genius, so losing him was a tremendous blow to him.

"So, do you want to continue the duel?" Ren asked.
