Chapter 499: Chapter 489: Do Not Waste Food

Shen Yunfang took her children to the trial field, and it was already noon when they got there. She simply spread out a sheet on the ground and asked the children to form a circle around it, then she took all the sandwiches out of the basket.

The principle, of course, was that everyone ate what they made. The children excitedly picked up their own masterpieces and hurriedly stuffed them into their mouths, eager to taste their hard work from the morning.

But as they chewed, something wasn’t quite right. How come it didn’t taste the same as what their aunt/mother made yesterday morning? Hmm, it’s kind of unpleasant.

Pangpang even thought of spitting out his first bite.

"Don’t spit it out." Shen Yunfang was watching these kids and immediately stopped her own son from spitting out the food in his mouth, "Hasn’t the teacher taught you not to waste food? All this bread is made from flour, and flour is grown by hard-working farmers over a year. You must learn to appreciate food, okay?"

The children, seeing how serious their aunt was, all nodded their heads obediently.

In fact, Shen Yunfang was mainly educating her own two children. The three kids from Sister Li’s family barely had enough to eat at home and really weren’t at a stage where they could afford to waste food.

However, her own two children had been brought up in good living conditions. It could be said that Shen Yunfang had never shortchanged them with food, which had led to them becoming somewhat picky eaters. Shen Yunfang had noticed this and took the opportunity to educate her children.

"Mommy, it doesn’t taste good." Pangpang felt a little aggrieved. The sandwich he made was nothing like what his mother made—sweet and salty, quite disgusting.

"Even if it doesn’t taste good, you have to finish it." There was no room for negotiation.

Pangpang sulkily ate his sandwich in small bites. When his mom wasn’t looking, he stealthily scraped out the milk candy he had put inside and stuffed it into his pocket. Hmm, it seemed a bit less disgusting now.

Shen Yunfang, of course, saw his little trick. She just wanted to take the chance to teach the children a lesson, not make them unable to eat their meal. After all, she was their mother, so she decided to turn a blind eye.

"Come on, drink some milk, one cup per person." Shen Yunfang took out a bottle and poured a cup for each child.

All the children did the same thing: they picked up their cups and gulped down a big sip. They all needed something to wash the taste away.

Finally, the meal was finished. The kids ran about happily in the field, while Shen Yunfang ignored them. She took a foam pad from the bike, laid it on the ground at the edge of the field, opened an umbrella for shade, and lay down.

"Auntie, look how much I have picked," Shuanzi bragged every few minutes as he ran over.

Shen Yunfang hummed a few notes from her nose, feeling warm and cozy in the sun, as if she could fall asleep the moment she closed her eyes.

After a while, Pangpang ran back, "Mommy, look quick, I went to pick strawberries again. They’re so delicious. You have to try some."

Shen Yunfang muttered to herself that she didn’t want to eat; she just wanted to take a nap.

"Pangpang is so great. Did you pick these especially for Mommy? I’m so happy." Shen Yunfang forced her eyes open and gave her son a kiss. "Tell Mommy, did you see uncle while you were picking strawberries, did you say hello to him?" She had brought the children here several times before and each time they would pick some strawberries, so the young man with the eyes already recognized her two children.

"Mm, uncle was there. He even told me to pick more for you to eat," said Pangpang.

"Good, Mommy has already had some. You take them and let your brother and sister have a taste." Shen Yunfang sent her child off relieved but still couldn’t help instructing, "Don’t go too far away now, you guys."

"I know, Mom."

Shen Yunfang had taken the children to play in the fields for the entire afternoon until they all grew hungry and it was time for dinner. Only then did she pack up and take the sunburned children back home.

The children had all been wearing hats, but while she took a nap, they played so wildly that by the time she woke up, all their hats had come off, just as the sun reached its peak, leaving each of their little faces red.

After returning home, Shen Yunfang quickly fixed some food for the children, and then applied her homemade repair facial masks to her own child, watching as they lay on the bed, strictly not allowed to move, until they could take it off after ten minutes.

But before the ten minutes were up, the little ones, calmed down now, had begun to snore, fast asleep. Shen Yunfang shook her head; they hadn’t napped at noon and had played wildly all afternoon. They were completely worn out.

She gently removed the facial masks from the children’s faces, then wrung out a wet towel and wiped their faces clean so they could sleep more comfortably.

The next morning, the six children were up and as lively as dragons and tigers.

Before dinner that day, Shen Yunfang took the children to Ma Liguo’s home. She let the children loose there and went to find Joseph herself.

At this time, one could hardly see any foreigners on the streets. Shen Yunfang did not wish for any unpleasant rumors to arise after Yoshida, that annoying man, so it was better for her to seek out Joseph herself.

Shen Yunfang made a beeline for the Crown Hotel, where Joseph should have been waiting for her.

Indeed, after Shen Yunfang went through a security check to enter the hotel, she saw that Joseph was already waiting for her in the restaurant.

"Shen, I’m so pleased to see you again," Joseph said warmly as he stood up to greet her. This woman had earned tens of millions for his company within two years. It was nothing short of miraculous.

"Hello, I’m also very glad to see you again," Shen Yunfang said graciously as she reached out to shake Joseph’s hand.

Only then did they sit down in turn. The waitress, noticing the cue, immediately began to bring dishes and bowls to the table.

Shen Yunfang arched an eyebrow at the dishes in front of her, and Joseph said with a smile, "I hope, Shen, you’ll give me the opportunity to treat you to dinner."

"Of course," Shen Yunfang replied with decorum, and thus began her dinner meeting with Joseph.

After eating for a short while, Joseph explained the purpose of his visit to China. He had heard in Germany about Yoshida from March Company seeking out Shen Yunfang to purchase the "Transformers" intellectual property rights. Joseph also offered a solemn apology to Shen Yunfang.

"I’m very sorry. Due to a mistake on my part, your personal information became known to Yoshida Hidemitsu from March Company. I hope it hasn’t caused you too much trouble," said Joseph sincerely.

"Yoshida’s visit indeed troubled me for a long time. I would very much like to cooperate with Mr. Joseph for the long term, so I hope such incidents won’t happen again," Shen Yunfang got straight to the point, and Joseph should understand.

Joseph solemnly promised Shen Yunfang once again that he would never allow her information to be leaked from his side in the future.

Shen Yunfang nodded; the other party had offered an apology and assured no future mistakes, so she felt it was best to be forgiving at this juncture and unnecessary to harp on someone’s minor slipup endlessly.

"Shen, I’ll be straight with you. There are two reasons I came to your esteemed country this time. The first is to apologize to you in person. The other is to express my desire to purchase the ’Transformers’ intellectual property rights as well."
