Chapter 500: Chapter 490: Won’t Let Anyone Else Live
Shen Yunfang left the hotel, hopped on her bicycle, and rode towards home.
Just within the time it took to have a meal, she had sealed another deal with Joseph. She sold the toy production and animation adaptation rights for "Transformers," which Yoshida had desperately wanted. Of course, it was sold in the form of a partnership. Joseph would pay her thirty percent of the profits.
Indeed thirty percent, not the fifty percent she had proposed to Yoshida. For people she found agreeable, her prices could float a bit.
She would rather sell to Joseph at a lower price than to Yoshida at a higher price.
Moreover, Joseph promised to take care of Yoshida, ensuring he wouldn’t harass her again, a condition that Shen Yunfang found highly satisfactory.
By the next day’s noon, Shen Yunfang had another lunch with Joseph, and the partnership contract was already signed. After Joseph got the contract, he took a flight back to his country in the afternoon.
Shen Yunfang felt as if she had shed a heavy burden, and was extremely pleased at the thought of never having to see that little Japanese, Yoshida, again.
Of course, Yoshida’s sudden return to Japan likely meant he would not come back, but Shen Yunfang believed in being cautious. Having Joseph mediate would ensure her peace of mind, making sure Yoshida would not appear again.
"Babies, what do you want to eat today? Auntie is in a great mood, ask and you shall receive." After returning home, Shen Yunfang generously made her promise.
"Auntie, really? We can really have anything we want?" Shuanzi’s eyes were wide open, looking both hopeful and skeptical at the same time.
"What’s with that look? When has auntie ever lied to you? Hurry up, each of you name a dish. This is a one-time offer. Miss it and it’s gone." Shen Yunfang grumpily mussed the rascal’s hair.
"Hehe, really? Then I want sweet and sour pork ribs, sour yet sweet. My mom has never made it before, but I love it." Shuanzi said naively.
"How about you guys?" Shen Yunfang nodded, as that was easy for her. She then turned and asked the others.
"Auntie, I want egg yolk baked pumpkin." Transcendent had been fixated on this dish ever since he tried it. It seemed a bit troublesome to make, and his mom couldn’t make it. He could only have a few bites when his aunt made it, so having a big plate of it himself would be fantastic.
"That can be arranged."
"Second Aunt, I’m easy. I’m happy with anything." Shitou wasn’t a picky eater, anything to fill his belly would do. Besides, Second Aunt’s cooking was delicious, even ordinary dishes tasted great when she made them.
"I can’t make ’anything’," Shen Yunfang shot back, unwilling to accept such a vague request, since she had already told the kids to pick a dish each.
"Then, then I’ll have the green beans you stir-fried the other day." That one was just vegetables, no meat. It might help Second Aunt save some money.
"Dry-fried green beans, is it? Sure." It wasn’t difficult, especially since it was summer, and fresh vegetables were plenty. "Now it’s your turn, Jiajia."
Jiajia looked at her aunt and then at her brother before sensibly saying, "Auntie, I’ll have sauerkraut stir-fried with glass noodles."
Shen Yunfang furrowed her brows upon hearing that. This one could be tricky. She had just mentioned that it was summer; where would she find sauerkraut?
"Jiajia, pick something else, this one is really quite difficult."
Jiajia’s small mouth opened slightly in surprise; she had chosen an inexpensive dish, why would her aunt say it was difficult? "Then let’s go with stir-fried potato shreds."
Well, that was the lowest standard.
"Shredding potatoes is easy, but let’s switch it up for you, Yunfang. Tonight I’ll make you some fries, to go with my homemade strawberry jam. It’s bound to be delicious," Shen Yunfang made a slight adjustment for her.
"Mommy, I want some too, I want some too." Manman immediately hopped up, raising her hand to indicate that she wanted some as soon as she heard there were potato fries.
"You little glutton," Shen Yunfang tapped her daughter’s little nose. Her child just adored dipping fries in fruit jam, never getting tired of it.
"Hehe." Manman giggled like a little cat that had stolen the stars.
"Pangpang, you’re the only one left, what do you want to eat?" Shen Yunfang asked her son last.
Pangpang mentally counted on his fingers; there were so many delicious things he wanted to eat, but Mom only let him choose one, so it was a tough decision.
"I’ll just have the pig’s trotters stewed with white beans," he said with some reluctance, making his choice.
Shen Yunfang nodded in agreement; although the dish was a bit of a hassle and took a long time to make, it really was delicious.
After everyone had placed their orders, Shen Yunfang busied herself in the kitchen that afternoon.
After the children woke up from their naps, they all wanted to help her out in the kitchen. But joking aside, the kitchen was only so big. If a bunch of kids crammed in, she wouldn’t be able to work at all. So, she simply decided to send them all out to play.
When dinner time came and Shen Yunfang brought out the last dish to the table, the children cheered, and then Ma Liguo and his wife happened to arrive just in time.
"Wow, we’ve come at just the right time, looks like a feast is about to begin," Ma Liguo walked in and saw the lavish dinner on the table, his mouth watering immediately.
His wife went straight to the kitchen to grab a pair of bowls and chopsticks, sat down, and was ready to join the meal.
"You guys are something else, your noses are even better than our Taxue’s," Shen Yunfang joked with them.
Taxue, hearing someone call its name, barked in response as if to join in, amusing everyone at the table.
"Come on, sit down, it’s time to officially start," Shen Yunfang certainly didn’t truly mind Ma Liguo and his wife joining in; after a few jokes, she quickly got everyone seated and announced the start of the meal.
"Mmm, this is delicious," Ma Liguo picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork rib and savored it thoroughly. He also quickly grabbed a piece for his wife.
It really was a grab, since despite their small size, the kids were not slow with their chopsticks. There weren’t many sweet and sour pork ribs on the plate to begin with, and as he gnawed on one, the dish rapidly cleared. He had to fight tooth and nail just to snag that one piece for his wife.
As for his son, he didn’t bother—there was no way his son should eat more than him.
The meal was lively and joyous. During it, Shen Yunfang briefly mentioned Joseph’s reason for coming, and naturally, she let slip that she had already signed a contract with him.
Ma Liguo immediately felt the food in his mouth wasn’t as tasty as before. You tell me, if a brother’s wife could make so much money, how’s a man supposed to live?
Although he didn’t know the exact amount Yunfang was making, the last time Yoshida offered ten to twenty thousand, Yunfang didn’t agree, so this contract had to have been signed for more than that.
Of course, he wasn’t at all envious of Yunfang, he just felt that as a grown man, not making as much money as a woman like Yunfang was a hit to his pride, no matter how he thought about it.
