Chapter 992: Chapter 992: The List

"What!"

Whoosh!

Before the men could react,

silver needles shot out explosively.

Aside from the lead man, all the others fell to the ground.

Deadly on contact!

After a brief stupor, the lead man placed his hand on his waist.

Swish!

A hidden weapon box clicked.

Aron Jackson pressed the trigger, piercing the man’s right arm.

"Ah! You..."

With teeth clenched in pain, the man’s gaze was fixed on Aron Jackson.

"You what?"

Aron Jackson squatted down, gently patting the man’s cheek: "Don’t recognize me anymore?"

Slap!

Right after speaking, he swung a heavy slap across.

"You dare lay a finger on me, you truly have the guts of a bear and the heart of a panther!"

"You’re not Noam Martin..."

The man’s face was pale as a ghost; his left hand pressed on the right arm, blood continuously flowing through his fingers.

He said viciously, "You dare hit me, I’ll make you regret it."

"Really?"

Aron Jackson smiled and waved his hand as Burl Radcliffe sat up from the bed behind him.

"You..."

The lead man stared at Burl Radcliffe, frowning deeply.

"How am I?"

Burl Radcliffe squatted down, coming in front of the man.

In his eyes, a flash of anger.

He was a decent and honest man.

Usually, when he faced trouble, he would choose to keep the peace.

But now, these people had touched his bottom line, his daughter.

Burl Radcliffe was furious.

He picked up a fruit knife, shaking as he held it in front of the man.

"Hoo!"

After taking a deep breath, he yelled: "Ah!"

Stab!

The knife plunged into the man’s shoulder.

"Uhh..."

Pain!

The man doubled over in agony, his features twisted together.

"You... you all are going to die! The Young Master will not let you off!"

He was angry, but also somewhat fearful, and even more shocked!

Why were Aron Jackson and Burl Radcliffe both exposed?

And Julius Reed had just gotten off the plane.

This was the handiwork of Elder Victor’s scheme!

The expensive masks made at great cost had yet to serve their purpose.

And now they were useless.

A well-played game, lost in such a miserable fashion!

"Move aside!"

Cosmo walked over with a dagger in hand, approaching the man.

And Aron Jackson and Burl Radcliffe tactfully stepped back.

"You wretched woman, await your death!"

The man glared at Cosmo, cursing viciously!

With just one move.

His men were all dead, and he didn’t even have the chance to reach for his hidden weapon box.

"You’re finished."

Aron Jackson stood by, full of pity: "In this world, there is only one man who dares to talk to her like that, but unfortunately, that man is not you."

He was well aware of Cosmo’s hot temper and formidable skills.

He couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the man before him.

"Very good! You’ve got guts, real manly!"

Cosmo nodded, giving a thumbs up: "I hope you can let me say that again later."

She stood up, coldly saying: "You go out, I’m afraid the scene might be too gruesome, it might scare you."

"Understood, take your time."

Aron Jackson felt a chill down his spine, a cold breeze blowing straight through his pants pocket to his crown.

He quickly took Quella Radcliffe and her family to the corridor and shut the door tightly.

No sooner had they left than the man’s heart-wrenching howls filled Aron Jackson’s ears.

"This woman..."

He sighed and took out his earphones from his pocket.

Initially wanting to listen to some music, he found to his surprise that there wasn’t a single song on his phone.

But the incessant wails were too harrowing to bear.

Though he wasn’t inexperienced with such matters, having witnessed and done his share,

this level of inhuman cruelty was unheard of for him.

Excruciating pain.

Fortunately, he discovered that the Miread app on his phone had an audiobook feature.

He promptly opened the top-ranked men’s book, "The Dragon Lord’s Comeback," and began listening.

As the story unfolded, he was quickly absorbed by the gripping plot, so much so that he forgot in the sickroom, a hellish interrogation was underway.

"I like men with guts like you."

Cosmo sat cross-legged on the floor, looking at the trembling man before her.

Blood was everywhere.

The man’s tendons in his hands and feet had all been severed, making movement incredibly difficult.

"You tell me, are your bones harder or is this lady’s knife?"

Stab!

Having said that, she plunged the knife down!

"Ah..."

Clang.

Amidst the man’s screams.

She tossed a kneecap onto the floor.

Right in front of the man.

The blood-soaked bone shattered the man’s last line of defense.

"Name."

Cosmo gently dragged the blade across the ground.

The scraping sound struck terror in the man, making him break out into a cold sweat.

"Mr.... Mr. Pendleton..."

While speaking, Mr. Pendleton’s eyes remained fixated on Cosmo’s blade.

Sweat the size of beans kept dripping from his forehead.

"Of course, a man from The North Sea, even the names contain marine creatures."

Cosmo snorted coldly and continued, "Give me the list of key figures from The North Sea you know. Miss one, and I’ll dig out one of your bones. There are hundreds of bones in the human body, so take your time. I have time, and I can afford to play."

After finishing her threat, she pointed to the floor, "We’re in a hospital, you see... it’s very hard for you to die here..."

Mr. Pendleton’s body trembled, struggling mightily inside.

"How about this, I promise not to kill you, and you can even go back. But you know what this means, you’d be betraying The North Sea to serve me."

Cosmo said, and in a flash of her cold blade—

Clatter!

One of Mr. Pendleton’s fingers dropped to the floor.

"You must have heard of my name, Empress Cosmo..."

"You are... the Empress?"

Upon hearing the name, Mr. Pendleton’s eyes widened, looking at her in disbelief.

Empress Cosmo was well-known in the martial arts world.

Although she was somewhat less prominent compared to the great sects and clans.

But to these people of the martial world, she was a nightmare!

The ruthlessness of her methods was simply hair-raising!

"Exactly. Take a good look at that silver needle. Who else in the world could launch it with such precision?"

After saying this, Cosmo whispered to herself, "Except for my master..."

Gulp.

Mr. Pendleton swallowed saliva.

His psychological defense was completely destroyed.

He knew he was in for a terrible time, but he wouldn’t die.

"I’ll talk..."

After taking a deep breath, Mr. Pendleton’s mouth was pried open.

He had no choice.

Of all the options, death was not one.

Ten minutes later.

Cosmo, holding a bloodstained list, stepped into the corridor.

"The North Sea alliance is much more formidable than you think. In Gonzalez City alone, there are a hundred people. And among them, there’s a Grandmaster. If he makes a move, neither you nor I can withstand it."

"Does the list include information on the Elders or the Young Master?"

Aron Jackson took the list, visibly shocked.

Even the ones sweeping at the central hospital were from The North Sea?

Airports, harbors, bus stations!

All of them infiltrated!

"No place is untouched!"

"I’ll pass the list to Orren Beaumont to send to Thunderpeak Hall."

Aron Jackson grinned, scratching his head non-stop.

Scalp numbing!

The lineup on the list, he couldn’t stand a chance even if he died a hundred times over!

"The Elders and the Young Master are elusive, he doesn’t know. All communications are done through phone calls," Cosmo said with a helpless shrug. "Mr. Pendleton is a big shot in Gonzalez City, one of the leaders. If you take down everyone on the list, Elders Victor will be blind."

"Alright!"

Aron Jackson took a deep breath and slapped the list, sending it to Orren Beaumont.

"She’s on the list too?"

The moment the image was sent, Aron Jackson suddenly widened his eyes, pointing at a name on the list!

PS: I’m sleepy, but I think of everyone’s support.

Still, I rise and insist on writing another Chapter.

A Chapter took two hours, but you probably only need a few seconds to read...

I understand the urge for updates, and I’m constantly trying to deliver more.

People aren’t machines, after all...

I’ve seen recent comments about feeling confused and cluttered in thoughts.

That’s my fault, I apologize.

I’m sorry!

The North Sea alliance is an important clue; the past upheaval laid hidden dangers when Ian Jorden died in battle and Julius Reed purged The North Sea.

The leader of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, with immense power, has lived for thousands of years.

Without such complex schemes, how could years of planning be overthrown?

Devlin is very complicated, the real enigmatic secondary character in this novel.

Many events are being pushed and orchestrated by him.

A shadowy figure.

Then there’s the Radcliffe Family; when the protagonist married into the family, it was all part of a scheme.

But Quella Radcliffe is innocent, consider that a spoiler, but only this once.

Remember, on Boulevard Mountain, there is still the mysterious, not yet dead Medicine King.

The story is fascinating; I hope you all can be a little patient.

The core of a novel is its story; I don’t like writing just about mindless fighting.

Simple showboating might also wear you out after a while.

Other novels finish the urban narrative then transition to cultivating immortals and continue the fight in a fantasy world.

Isn’t it wonderful to follow a good story?

Pressured by readers, the writing about Nelson almost broke me down, but then I decided to write what I want to write.

No one else will shake my story.

Even if nobody reads it in the end, I am willing to accept that outcome.

I hope to infuse my soul into the story.

Good night.
