The sound of horse hooves hitting the ground resounded as four figures could be seen riding towards a canal tunnel heading downwards.

"This is far enough," one of the figures announced, causing the others to stop in their tracks. This figure had a faceless mask coupled with white hair and a black kimono on his body.

This was clearly Leon, and the others were Arian, Gunta and Carlson.

"We will have to split up here, take this" Leon reached into his robes and brought out a few pieces of paper and handed it to Carlson.

"Hm" Carlson collected them and inspected them.

On these pieces of paper there were designs of something that looked like a weapon with chains attached. It was a peculiar looking design.

"I’ve specified the materials to be used and how it should be made. Please get the best magic blacksmith you can find…." Leon said to Carlson.

His weapons were no longer suitable for him, as he was now a level 2 warlock. He needed something that could elevate his battle prowess. To that effect, he got a loan of 50,000 gold coins from Peri.

That was somewhere around 5 million silver coins.....

It was a giant chunk, at least 2 years worth of her profits, but she had no choice. She felt guilty of what had just happened.

"I know the best person for the job" Carlson nodded. Breaking through to level 2 gave him a bit more clout in the waterway family, there was a powerful magic blacksmith in the family that made the craziest magic treasures.

He would use one of his favors to get Leon what he required because he, too, felt guilty, Leon placed him there to ’protect’ Peri, but he allowed her to be used by a stranger to get to Leon.

"Good, I’ll see you soon and good luck" Leon nodded to Carlson before turning to ride deeper into the tunnel.

About 40 minutes later, they came upon a familiar sight once more.....

The undercity.

Leon was now a level 2 warlock, it was the appropriate time to make contact with the warlocks of the undercity. With his strength now, he at least wouldn’t become cannon fodder easily.

Proper interactions with the warlocks were needed if he wanted to achieve his original goal in duan City. And who better to interact with than the matriarch of the Blood Serpent Clan?

The blood Demon Liana.....she had gotten this name after the battle under the heaven devourer mountain range. She was ruthless and ready to do anything to win, even going toe to toe with an elder of the Dalriss family.

Not just any elder, the little brother of the marquee cane.

But of course because of this, she was actively being hunted by the Dalriss family, so when she entered duan city, she went straight to the undercity. There she would be protected.

Leon, Arian and gunta Road down the streets of duan city, to find Liana he would need to go through some processes as she was in hiding.

The first step was to go through the warlock alliance. Due to the events of the past few months, there had been an influx of warlocks into duan city with no real place to stay, and most of them had lost contact with clan members.

So the warlock alliance created a sort of initiative to bring lost warlocks to their clansman.....

Clans were an essential structure of warlock society, they had to bring them together in time of trails like these.

"Hello, I would like to be pointed to the blood serpent clan branch" Leon said to a lady behind the counter at the alliance building.

"Huh? Blood Serpent Clan? That’s rich" the lady paid no heed to what Leon said. Actually, there was no such thing as a blood serpent clan branch, and the reason for this was because there were little to no free blood serpent clan members in duan city.

This was purely because of what Leon and Liana had done. They had been the cause of the destruction at the tamlin camp, so Alaric made it a point to make sure they captured every single warlock of the blood serpent clan on the run.

He left no stone unturned, this was what they called hate.

"We’re serious" from behind, Leon gunta stepped forward causing his eyes to shine with a red light, causing the person behind the counter to frown.

"There’s only one free member of the blood serpent clan I can think of and it’s the blood Demon Liana, as for what you’re looking for I don’t have it" the lady shook her head. The red light with swirling crimson snakes, a clear sign of the blood serpent clan.

But even so, she couldn’t help them. There were just too few blood serpent clan members who had gotten away from the hunts. Talk less of those who made it into duan city.

"Sigh, we understand" Leon patted gunta on the shoulder, consoling him. The kid could survive on his own, that was fair and good, but he was a kid, after all. The familiar ties were still precious to him to some extents.

Leon then took gunta and walked off, however, before he got to the door the lady asked him a question.

"What are you guys called by the way....."

"I am Leon Alduwin" Leon responded before leaving casually.

Unknown to him, the lady behind the counter had put his name down and sent it over to someone not too far away. The name Alduwin, the blood Demon Liana had asked them to find someone with that name, but even after searching high and low they couldn’t find him.

It was like the owner of this name did not exist in the whole of duan city.

But she adamantly believed that he was here, and apparently she was right.

"I’ll send word" after accepting the name, the man nodded his head and stamped it.

Meanwhile, Leon gunta and Arian made their way through the streets of the under city. It was littered with warlocks from different clans going about their daily business, not at all as suffocating as the actual City where warlocks were constantly being harassed.

"Rice-balls, steamy Rice-balls" Leon stopped before a food vendor and got some food. He seemed very relaxed, even though they hadn’t been able to find Liana yet.

"We should really continue looking" Arian tried to put Leon back on track. She knew him to be very casual with his dealings, and she knew he would more often than not focus on doing random things, but he would ultimately get things done when he needed to.

So this nonchalance was a bit strange.

"We already made ourselves known, she’ll find us" Leon smirked before sticking a ball of rice in his mouth.

Leon was quite confident that Liana would find him if she heard his name, after all, he was the one who released her and several others from the death squad’s dungeon.

And he was right because, not more than a few minutes later, a familiar voice sounded from his side.

"Alduwin boy"

Leon turned, and his gaze fell upon the figure of an old man with white hair and a twisted look on his face.

This was the winged devil... Liana had found him just like he predicted.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"You really are something kid, how long has it been? You went all the way from being a level 1 nothing to a level 2 warlock in a matter of months? Doesn’t that sound absurd?" Inside a small, inconspicuous carriage, the winged devil could be seen staring at Leon with curiosity.

Immediately Leon left the alliance building they had people follow him, then when the fourth elder arrives he quickly noticed gunta and Leon who had pulled off his faceless mask.

The eyes were different, the hair was different, but he was able to recognize him. Of course, he couldn’t be too careless, so he tested him.

"Elder jests, I only worked hard because or circumstances…" Leon smiled bitterly. The winged devil was a crazy battle maniac, one that could rival even Liana…. Leon had to be a bit respectful.

"Haha, you’re too modest, I don’t like it. Take your praise like a man" the elder smacked Leon on the back..... Leon had not only freed Liana, he freed several other clan heads, and technically, they all owed him. He had unknowingly racked up some favors.

After moving through some corners here and there, they arrived before a small Japanese styled compound. There, Leon and gunta got down and were led inside to meet Liana.

"Hello matriarch" Leon greeted.

Inside one of the rooms, Liana could be observed seated on the floor looking directly at Leon.

She was as beautiful as ever even after risking her life countless times, she was still able to maintain a stunningly flawless skin and hair as luscious as that of a model.
