Chapter 106: _ Shitty Drach
Isleen

After we were taken to the station, our statements were taken down. It was during the wait that Gamma Rhett came in. I could already sense him before he came in.
The moment my extra senses which was an ability I was probably gifted by the Moon Goddess caught up on his scent, I willed the ground to open up and swallow me. Sadly, that could only happen in movies.
When our gazes interlocked, I almost melted with shame. I couldn’t believe this. It felt like I was caught in an abomination. Like I had become my parents.
I felt so horrible.
However, my hurt was soon toppled when Lupe saw him and tapped me, happy that he’d get us out and he walked out like he hadn’t seen me in cuffs. Like he didn’t care.
Like I didn’t matter or wasn’t worthy of his attention. That bloody man.
That bully.
How could he just walk out without showing any concern for Lupe or me? After he’d clipped me in his car, kissed me, touched me, marked me – how?
Was it my fault to think that any of that meant something to him? I mean, it was Gamma Rhett. Rumored to have no heart.
Why’d I think I actually saw genuine affection and desire in his eyes when he saw me? Every time he saw me?
An organ in me began to ache. It ached so bad that when Lupe whispered to me...
"... did he see us?"
I snapped at her, harsher than intended. "Why don’t you go ask him?!"
Her mouth popped open in surprise and slowly, her eyes began to dim. Even the officers around threw us a few glances, wondering what was the cause of my shout. It was then that I realized I had overreacted.
I took my handcuffed hands up and awkwardly scratched my head. "Sorry, Lupe. I just hate being cuffed like a criminal." I muttered.
Lupe sighed deeply beside me and sank down the bench. "And it’s all my fault."
"No, Lupe," I interjected. "It’s all that punk’s fault." I shot a hateful glare at the stupid Drach.
In return, the shameless assface gave me a ’fuck you’ finger. He really felt so unremorseful, and with the way he wasn’t so moved being here, I could tell it wasn’t his first time of getting arrested.
Or perhaps, he had a connection with someone at high places.
"How the hell did you meet that asshole in the first place? I know he’s your mate, but he doesn’t look very familiar." I commented, eyeing him hard for giving me the middle finger.
Lupe’s sigh this time blew a strand of hair away from her face. "Well, you probably haven’t seen him around because he only just came home after the new Alpha was appointed. He’s the Beta’s nephew and not many people know him. He wasn’t always in our pack. He got caught up and was unable to leave when the veil was cast. We met shortly after." She explained.
What the fuck?
The Beta’s son was this rotten? This – spoilt and crazy?
Yikes.
At times like that, I’d give Gamma Rhett praises for raising Kylo really well. I’d never imagine Kylo misusing his position as the Gamma’s son to publicly hurt girls and flirt around, not giving a damn about his mate.
At times like this, I wished we were allowed the liberty to reject our mates and weren’t tied to the Moon Goddess’s rule for us to take whoever she had forced upon us.
This was absurd!
Lupe deserved to reject such a scumbag.
Before I could formulate a reply, an officer came to unlock I and Lupe’s cuffs. "You ladies are free to go after you are bailed." He said to us.
"And you – he turned to Drach. You, young man, are in a lot of trouble for causing such a public nuisance and hurting women." Reprimanded, the officer.
Drach scoffed indifferently. "Don’t say ’hurt’ like they aren’t already healed of their wounds. And don’t like they didn’t hurt me too. I was hit with a bottle, for goodness’s sake! On THE HEAD!"
"It was a defensive act on our part!" I countered. "You were going to..."
"Shut up, bitch! I and my mate had a personal issue to solve, yes. What’s your business, you lowly Omega? She is my mate, and I can do whatever I want with her." He turned his gaze to Lupe. "You told me about your stupid Omega friend but you never told me she was this annoying!"
W - what?
Lupe was the one who told him I was an Omega?
The corner of my eyes crinkled as I turned questioningly to her. "You did what, Lupe?"
"I- I... I swear to you, Isleen. He makes me – he..." She began to stutter, visibly shaken.
The soldier was done having us argue. "Look, we are all trying to work here, so you three better keep it low." He cautioned us. "You girls will be allowed to phone someone to take your bail..."
However, the arrival of a young soldier with a scar on his brows cut him short.
"There’ll be no need for that." Said the officer whom the one addressing us saluted. "Gamma Rhett will sort the ladies out..."
Oh, so he didn’t totally ignore me, did he? Why did that make me feel so relieved? My wolf most especially was blushing inside of me.
"... as for the guy, he should be retained and set to face the penalty for his actions." The soldier who seemed to be a man of little words provided and walked away.
Drach was the most annoying good good-looking guy I had ever set my eyes upon. "Look, it’ll do you a lot of good to let me go. You don’t know what my uncle would do to you if he finds me detained. I warned you, okay?!" He roared to the soldier who paid him no attention.
Argh!
Somebody clip his tongue!
The idiot probably thought the Beta was a corrupted man who’d let him go Scot-free after publicly hurting his mate and her friend.
