Chapter 100: Chapters 100 Silent treatment
Kyra’s eyes widened in sheer terror as she fell, glancing down at the dizzying height below.
Her breath hitched and her heart pounded in her chest, as world blurred around her.
"Kyra!" Lucas shouted, his voice thick with panic. He lunged forward to catch her, but Vincent’s arm shot out, stopping him.
In an instant, Vincent’s form began to shift. His lower half transformed into a powerful snake tail, which quickly coiled around Kyra’s waist, saving her from the fall.
Vincent’s face darkened, his eyes blazing with intense emotion, and his jaw clenched as he pulled Kyra into his arms.
He looked at her sharply with his Intense, hard gaze.
"Kyra, you need to be more careful. What if something happened to you? How would I live without you?" Lucas’s voice trembled as he hugged Kyra tightly, leaning against Vincent’s tail.
"I’m sorry." Kyra whispered, biting her lip. She turned to Vincent, but his expressionless dark eyes sent a shiver down her spine.
"Vincent..." she muttered, her voice barely audible.
His silence terrified her more than his anger.
Ignoring her, Vincent started slithering down the steps, holding Kyra securely.
Lucas followed closely, his heart still racing from the near-fatal scare.
He looked at Kyra, wrapped gently yet firmly in Vincent’s tail, and asked, "Are you okay?"
Kyra nodded, offering Lucas a small, sad smile. The silence was unbearable.
It was just an accident—she was fine—so why wouldn’t Vincent talk to her? His coldness was piercing her heart.
They descended quickly, but on the way, Vincent didn’t even glance at her.
Kyra’s attempts to talk him were met with an icy wall of indifference.
His silence was more painful than any scolding.
Reaching the ground, Vincent gently set Kyra down and immediately turned to leave. Kyra’s heart pounded, almost jumping into her throat.
"Vincent..." she called out, her voice tinged with desperation. She ran after him, but his long tail made it difficult to catch up.
Seeing him slither faster, she pushed herself, sprinting ahead to block his path, her breath coming in gasps.
Her breath hitched when she saw the corner of his eyes, bloodshot with restrained emotion.
He was biting his lip so hard that it bled, and his fists were clenched tightly, causing blood to seep from where his nails dug into his palms.
"Vincent, where are you going?" she asked, looking straight into his eyes.
"Let me go." he said through gritted teeth, his gaze fierce and unyielding.
"No! Please talk to me, Vincent. It was just an accident—you can’t react like this." Kyra pleaded, her voice urgent. She watched as he transformed back into his fully human form.
"Just an accident." he muttered, lifting his dark, red eyes to meet hers.
His long eyelashes framed his eyes, casting shadows on his cheeks as he lowered his gaze.
Vincent closed the distance between them, his eyes dark and intense.
Kyra gulped as he suddenly grabbed her chin with his hand, his face moving dangerously close to hers.
"Just an accident?" he said through gritted teeth, his jaw clenched.
"You almost fell, Kyra. I can’t imagine living without you. You’ve become my whole life." His grip on her chin tightened, his emotions barely contained.
"I’m sorry," Kyra whispered, her voice trembling.
"I didn’t know I was going to slip. I promise I’ll be more careful." Tears brimmed in her eyes as he turned his face away, withdrawing his hand from her chin.
Lucas hurried over, worry etched on his face. "Kyra, why are you crying?" he asked, his eyes wide with concern.
But before Lucas could reach them, Vincent turned back to Kyra.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her roughly towards him, his hand tangling in her hair as he crushed his lips against hers.
His kiss was rough and demanding, his tongue invading her mouth with a fierce urgency.
He pressed her tightly against him, his free hand roughly slapping her ass.
"Ahh..." Kyra moaned as Vincent’s lips trailed down her chin to her neck.
He stopped at the valley between her breasts, taking a deep breath before loosening his hold and looking away, his lips pressed into a tight line.
Lucas, feeling a mix of jealousy and heat, shook off his thoughts and ran to Kyra. He gently took her hands.
"What’s wrong with you, Vincent? Why are you acting like this?" he demanded, kissing Kyra’s fingers softly.
"She must be scared. She almost fell, but you saved her in time. She’s been trying to talk to you. You can’t just ignore her. It was an accident. She’ll be more careful next time."
Vincent remained silent, his face unreadable. Lucas’s eyes turned serious.
"I’m taking Kyra back home. If you calm down, come back soon." He turned to Kyra, "I’ll shift into my wolf form. You can ride on my back. My injury isn’t serious anymore, thanks to my healing ability, so don’t worry."
Kyra looked back at Vincent, her eyes pleading. "Vincent..." she whispered.
But he didn’t respond.
She understands she needs to give him some space.
Sighing, she climbed onto Lucas’s back as he transformed into a wolf and started running.
She glanced back once more, seeing Vincent watching them, his expression unreadable.
Her heart ached. 𝔫𝖔𝖛𝖕𝔲𝔟.𝔠𝖔𝖒
They had just gotten married, and already they were fighting.
She sighed as they reached the familiar cottage.
The sun was setting as she climbed down from Lucas’s back.
Lucas opened the door and turned to her. "Let’s go inside, Kyra," he said gently.
She nodded, glancing back one last time to see if Vincent was following. He wasn’t.
Her heart ached with the weight of his anger and silence.
When did she start feeling so much for him? She walked inside.
Lucas came back to her with a glass of water.
She sat on the sofa, sipping the water, as big, fat tears began to fall from her eyes.
Lucas’s heart ached at the sight. He hurriedly went to sit next to her and hugged her tightly, holding her close as she cried.
