Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Fate of males
Climbing up the stairs was hard, but climbing down was easy. Yet, after climbing fifty or sixty steps, Kyra felt a bit tired. To distract herself, she decided to learn more about her husbands.
"Can we play a game?" Kyra asked. "Like, we ask each other questions and answer truthfully."
Lucas, who was walking behind her, almost jumped with excitement. If Vincent hadn’t held him back, he might have tumbled down. "Me, me! I want to play!" Lucas exclaimed.
"I want to," Vincent added, his face expressionless.
Kyra smiled. "What’s your favorite color? Mine is pink." she asked first.
"Red" Lucas said immediately.
"Red" Vincent spoke, glancing at her hair. Kyra blushed, feeling a warm flutter at his attention.
"Who’s going to ask the next question?" she asked.
"Me. What’s your favorite movie? Mine is Alpha Ken," Lucas replied eagerly. Kyra had asked him about movies and dramas in their world two days ago.
At that time, he didn’t know what they were, but now he was clearly excited about his newfound interest.
Kyra chuckled. Lucas had really become a fan of Alpha Ken, a movie very popular among kids and teens.
"..." Vincent was silent. He didn’t even know what a movie was.
"Look how pitiful Vincent is! He doesn’t even know what a movie is. So, Kyra, when will we watch Alpha Ken again for Vincent?" Lucas asked, hurrying down a few more steps to catch up with her.
Vincent shot him a glare, looking like he was ready to kick this wolf down the stairs.
"Okay, okay! I’ll show him later when you fall asleep," Kyra said with a little laugh, knowing Lucas wanted to watch it himself the most. She decided to tease this wolf a bit.
"Good idea," Vincent commented. He liked the idea of the two of them spending time alone.
"What is a good idea?! You can’t watch without me! You can’t leave me alone, Kyra. I also want to watch." Lucas said, making sad eyes as his steps became slower.
Seeing his sad eyes, Kyra started feeling guilty.
"Okay, okay, baby Luca! I was just joking. We’ll watch another movie together." Hearing this, his eyes brightened, and Vincent rolled his eyes.
"Vincent, you ask the next question. We’re going to drop Lucas’s question," Kyra said. Vincent made a thoughtful face.
"Have you ever liked someone before?" Vincent asked, his voice deep. "I never liked someone or knew how to love someone until I met you, Kyra." Kyra blushed.
Lucas bit his lips. This Vincent really knew how to talk; look how Kyra was blushing.
"I only have one female in my heart and kidney, and she is Kyra," Lucas said smugly, thinking he was speaking more romantically.
Kyra bit back her laugh as she heard his proud tone and replied, "I haven’t liked someone until I met Lucas and you," turning a little towards Vincent before looking straight and smiling softly as she carefully hurried down the steps.
Lucas and Vincent froze like statues. Hearing her, their heartbeats quickened, and their minds went blank.
But seeing Kyra hurriedly walking ahead of them, they quickly climbed down to catch up with her.
"Wait---" they shouted. Kyra looked back at them, laughing, her hair bouncing with her. The movement was beautiful.
But the steps were slippery and mossy, and sadly, her feet slipped.

"Where are you going?" Two viper snakes stood in front of Monica, blocking her path as she tried to leave with her mates.
"I don’t want to stay here. I’m leaving this place," Monica said, gritting her teeth. She would rather live in Beastcity, even if she didn’t get enough attention there.
Because she was different from other females, she knew that every male would notice her sooner or later anyway.
"You can’t leave," the first viper snake spoke coldly. After many males disappeared from the castle and Emma’s death, they had to pay close attention to everything.
The boss was still outside, and they didn’t know what to do, so all they could do was stop others from leaving the castle until the boss returned.
"Why can’t I leave? It’s my right and freedom to go wherever I want." Monica said, her face contorted with anger.
"Yes, she is right! We want to leave this place," Alan said coldly. "And you can’t stop us. We can do what we want."
"Yes, let us go. We want to leave with Monica." her other mates started speaking up.
"Let us leave, or we won’t have any choice but to..." Alan said, showing his fist, his eyes filled with anger as he looked at the two viper snakes.
"You really want to leave? Then leave," the second viper said, his eyes flashing with cunningness.
"We’re not going to stay here for long! The boss is about to start tribe construction. We have enough manpower to work quickly, and many new things are going to be included, like the biggest houses for females, underground nests, water parks, and many playing areas. Some other powerful snakes, like the king cobra, are also joining our tribe." he said with a smile.
Greed flashed in Monica’s eyes as she hesitated, but then she smiled.
"Haha! We’re not leaving. I was just testing if you care about me or not. If I leave, it turns out you do care... haha! Anyway, I love it here," she said, looking at her mates.
"Right, guys?" she added, giving them a sharp glare to make them agree with her.
"Right!" they all chorused, nodding quickly.
The viper snakes smirked, satisfied for now.
Monica was a really greedy female, it was easy to control her.
Monica went back to her room, her fear forgotten as she started thinking about her future as the first female of the Venomcrest Tribe.
She couldn’t help but smile, not noticing the downcast faces of her males.
Alan, in particular, was deeply disappointed.
He had thought he mated with a good female, but she was greedier than he had ever imagined.
Alan had actually been happy and looking forward to going back to Beastcity to meet his family and friends.
The thought of returning home had filled him with hope and excitement.
A depressing smile appeared on Alan’s face.
After all, the fate of males often seemed to be like this.
