Chapter 190: Chapter 190 Found her (2)

Vincent clenched his fists, trying to keep his emotions in check. "Where did you last see her?" he asked, his voice tense.

"At the town center. She was with Damon, and they flew away when the infected beasts attacked," the boy explained.

"And where are all the infected beasts? We’ve been checking nearby tribes and the whole town, but we haven’t found anyone," Vincent said.

The children around him looked confused. "We hid because a large number of infected beasts were outside," one of them said.

"If you don’t believe us, why don’t you take a look outside yourself?" Lucas suggested, seeing them shiver in fear.

Vincent said, "Follow me." As they walked outside, they saw there was no one around. However, Vincent’s body became alert when he sensed some presence.

Lucas felt it too and became alert as well.

Suddenly, the children behind them shouted, "Healer!"

Their shoulders relaxed when they saw a normal beastman walking toward them.

Healer Angelo looked at all the children with a kind expression. The town leader and Priest Felix followed behind him, though the priest looked deep in thought.

"You’re the mates of Kyra, right?" Priest Felix asked, looking at both Vincent and Lucas.

"How do you know?" Lucas asked, his eyes narrowing.

Felix smiled. "We need to talk privately," he said. He then looked at the group of children. "Many of the beastmen who were rescued are gathered inside the council hall. You all go there. There are no infected beasts anymore."

The children’s faces flashed with relief, and they ran toward the hall happily, though some were sad, having lost their loved ones and town leader and Healer followed them.

Vincent and Lucas followed Felix to a secluded spot. Once there, Felix turned to them and said, "Kyra is special. She has powers that can save the world."

Vincent and Lucas exchanged glances. "What do you mean?" Vincent asked.

Felix took a deep breath. "Kyra’s arrival here wasn’t by chance. She was sent because this place needs her. The infected beasts are part of a larger threat that Kyra has the power to combat."

Vincent didn’t like where the conversation was heading. Of course, he knew Kyra was special, but he wanted her to have a normal life.

Lucas, on the other hand, didn’t understand. He knew Kyra had power, but he wanted it to remain unknown to others because he wants to keep her safe.

"How can you tell that Kyra has the power to fight? According to the children, she flew away with Damon when the infected beasts appeared."

"No... she came back," Felix said, his eyes deepening. "When she was saving that child, I was also there. I saw her aura change. She threw a powerful light ball at the infected beasts. After she left, I saw with my own eyes that the once-infected beasts turned normal. The energy she released spread throughout the area, and everyone became normal. Now, they are being treated in the council hall. When we were coming to get the children here, I saw you both."

Vincent’s fists clenched at his sides. "So, what are you saying? That Kyra’s supposed to save this place and put herself in danger?"

Felix nodded. "Yes, in a way. But she won’t be alone. She needs support, and she needs to understand her power."

"She doesn’t need this burden," Vincent muttered, his voice filled with frustration.

"I agree," Lucas added. "She’s been through enough. We just want to take her back and keep her safe."

Felix’s expression softened. "I understand your concerns. But Kyra’s power is a gift from Beastgod and a responsibility. The infected beasts are not the only threat. There are greater dangers out there that only Kyra can handle."

Vincent looked away, struggling with his emotions. "We need to find her first," he said finally. "Do you have any idea where she might be?"

Felix thought for a moment. "Considering the situation, they might be thinking of leaving here. They could be at the border area."

Vincent’s eyes narrowed. "The border area. Then that’s where we’ll go."

Felix placed a reassuring hand on Vincent’s shoulder. "I hope you find her soon. And when you do, please bring her back here. We need her."

"We’ll see," Vincent replied, taking Lucas’s hand firmly. They walked away, determination clear in their steps.

Felix watched their retreating backs and muttered under his breath, "If Only Damon lets you take Kyra..."

"Don’t you think the sudden outburst of infected beasts is weird?" Kyra asked Damon, who looked at her, his expression serious.

"Everything was planned, I know," Damon replied, and Kyra’s eyes widened.

"You know?" she asked, surprised.

"Although I don’t know who’s behind it, why would it only happen today? Given the situation, I guessed," Damon replied, glancing at the bed where the boy was sleeping. "What about him?"

Kyra looked at the little boy. He reminded her of Toma. Speaking of Toma, she really missed the little guy. She sighed, her thoughts drifting to the past.

"We will try to go back if there is a possibility his dad is out there," Kyra replied, and Damon nodded.

"Hope there isn’t too much danger," Damon sighed.

"I am hungry. Let’s find some food outside," Kyra said, standing up.

"Nope, little thing, wait here for me. I will get you something," Damon said, standing up. "Outside is too dangerous. We don’t know if there are any infected beasts still roaming around."

"No, I want to come. I might be able to help," Kyra insisted, looking stubborn.

"I said no. Take care of this little guy," Damon said firmly.

"NO!" Kyra retorted.

Impatient, Damon suddenly pulled her towards him, holding her cheeks and kissing her roughly, his lips wet against hers. "You don’t understand anything unless I kiss you. Do you want me to shut you up with some other methods?" Damon said, his eyes cold and sharp as he looked at her.

Kyra shivered and pushed him away. "You crazy... don’t use excuses to kiss me every time," she said, turning her back to him, her cheeks flushing.
