Chapter 268: Chapter 268 Kaia meets Luca and Damon

"Thank you, Ky-ky. I knew you’d always have my back." He looked smug, feeling victorious with Kyra’s protection.

Ignoring Lucas’s antics, Kyra continued, her voice more serious now. "My own beast has a consciousness of her own... Her name was Kaia. She died millions of years ago protecting the world’s key, and now she’s back inside my body. But because of the difference in our memories and experiences, she’s like a different personality of mine, even though we’re essentially the same."

This time, Damon’s usually calm emotions cracked. His eyes widened slightly as her words sank in. "Your beast actually has consciousness?" His voice was low, almost incredulous, as if the concept was both fascinating and unsettling to him.

Lucas, curious as always, perked up at the mention of Kaia. "Can we meet her?" he asked excitedly, leaning forward with wide eyes, eager to see this mysterious other part of Kyra.

"Are you ready to meet them, Kaia?" Kyra asked internally, her voice filled with a soft reassurance.

Kaia, who had been quiet until now, nodded nervously. ’I... I think so. But please, relax your body. You might feel something strange when I take over,’ Kaia whispered, her voice shaky yet filled with excitement.

Kyra took a deep breath and tried to ease her muscles, focusing on the sensation that was slowly creeping over her body. It started with a tingling, an odd, almost electric sensation coursing through her. Her heartbeat quickened for a moment as she mentally braced herself.

Then, in an instant, everything shifted.

Kyra blinked, but instead of seeing Damon or Lucas before her, she found herself standing in a small, enclosed space—Towering trees surrounded her, their leaves a bright, vivid green, while the soft sounds of a running stream echoed in the distance. The air was cool and crisp, and the light filtering through the trees painted the scene with an ethereal glow.

"Wha—?" Kyra gasped, looking around in confusion. "Where am I?" The realization hit her quickly—this was some kind of internal space, a place within her consciousness where Kaia resided.

Kyra looked down and saw herself standing in the middle of a small forest clearing, her feet planted firmly on the soft, mossy ground.

Kaia opened her eyes, feeling a strange sense of displacement. She was accustomed to her Beast body, and even when she regained some consciousness in Kyra’s body, it was usually in dire situations. Now, as she fully emerged into the physical world, the transition was more disorienting.

She shifted uncomfortably at first, trying to adjust to her new surroundings and her different form. Her eyes, a deeper blue with a hint of gold, surveyed the room with an intensity that contrasted sharply with Kyra’s usual aura.

Her soft, gentle appearance transformed into one of strength and boldness. Her lips curved into a confident, almost sensual smile. The nervousness that had accompanied her initial appearance had faded, replaced by an assertive, commanding presence.

"Hello, baby Luca! Damon," Kaia greeted, her voice dripping with charm and her tone was smooth and alluring, completely different from the reserved Kyra they were used to.

Lucas stared at Kaia, his curiosity and hesitation clearly visible. He was processing the revelation that this was another part of Kyra, a different facet of her entirely.

Damon, meanwhile, observed Kaia with a focused intensity. He took in every detail, from her deep blue eyes with gold flecks to her bold posture and seductive smile.

Kaia noticed the hesitation in both Damon and Lucas and decided to break the ice. With a warm smile, she stood up gracefully and walked toward Lucas. Without waiting for his reaction, she settled onto his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck, her touch both gentle and assertive.

"There’s no need to be awkward with me," she said softly, her voice soothing yet confident. "I am also Kyra, but she is more reserved, while I am more straightforward." Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she looked up at Lucas, trying to ease the tension in the air.

Lucas, caught off guard, felt a mix of surprise and unease as Kaia’s unexpected closeness. He shifted slightly but didn’t push her away, still processing the revelation of this other side of Kyra.

Damon watched the interaction with a guarded expression.

Kaia, perched comfortably on Lucas’s lap, continued to maintain her serene smile, sensing his mixed feelings. She leaned in closer, her breath warm against his neck. "Don’t worry, Luca. I’m still part of Kyra. Just a different facet of her personality. I’m here to help and to make things easier for everyone."

Lucas hesitated for a moment, but Kaia’s warmth was disarming. He eventually relaxed, allowing a slight smile to play on his lips. "You’re certainly different from the Ky-ky I’m used to," he said, his voice tinged with curiosity. "But it’s good to meet you, I suppose."

Kaia’s attention then shifted to Damon, who was observing the scene with a critical eye. Her expression softened as she approached him, her movements deliberate and graceful. She stopped a short distance away, giving him space but maintaining a confident stance.

Damon’s eyes narrowed slightly as he studied her.

"No need to be wary of me," Kaia said, her voice tinged with sadness. "I am also Kyra. I thought you’d be more welcoming. Seeing you hesitate... it’s breaking my heart."

Her eyes, deep blue with a hint of gold, filled with a hint of pain as she looked between them. Kaia had hoped for a warmer reception, but the hesitance from Damon and Lucas was noticeable. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.

Damon, noticing the change in her emotions, softened his gaze slightly. "Kaia, it’s not about mistrust," he said, his tone more measured. "It’s just... you’re new to us. It will take time to adjust."

Kaia looked up at Damon, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. She nodded, understanding his words.

Kaia managed a small, appreciative smile, trying to hide her sadness. "I understand. I just wanted to be a part of this world and be accepted, just like Kyra."
