Chapter 269: Chapter 269 Silverpeak moutain (1)
Kyra looked around the quiet forest, her hands brushing against the leaves branch which was slightly lowered. Everything felt real, but she wondered if this space was just in her imagination.
Suddenly, her perspective shifted. She could see everything clearly as if through her own eyes, but she had no control over her body.
Seeing Damon and Lucas hesitate with Kaia hurt her deeply. Kaia was as much a part of her as Kyra herself, and their hesitation made her feel a sharp pang of rejection. Kaia sighed, and with a heavy heart, she gave control back to Kyra, her sad voice echoing, ’It’s okay.’
Kyra, feeling the sadness her other half endured, wished she could comfort her, but now wasn’t the time. She had to let it go for the moment and focus on the next task. Tomorrow, they would head to Silver Peak Mountain, and she needed to be ready for what awaited them there.
Next day
The morning air was crisp, biting cold as a blanket of fresh snow coated the landscape in a thick, pristine layer of white. The sky was a pale, icy blue, with faint streaks of pink and orange from the rising sun barely visible beyond the towering pines. Each tree was weighed down by the heavy snow, their branches sagging under the winter’s burden, while icicles hung like crystal ornaments, glistening in the soft light. 𝓃𝓸𝓋𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝒸ℴ𝓶
"Everyone is here!" the leader’s voice boomed, his eyes scanning the group. Fifteen warriors had gathered, each carrying their small bags packed with supplies for the journey. The leader’s sharp gaze flicked across every face, ensuring no one was missing.
Kyra stood among them, her attire chosen carefully for the treacherous terrain ahead. She wore comfortable clothes that allowed her to move freely, with a light sweater for warmth.
Damon and Lucas stood close, one on each side of Kyra, their presence solid and protective. Leader Marc cleared his throat and addressed them. "Most of the warriors here are dragons, so we’ll be flying. Lucas, Kyra—you both can ride on Damon. Is that alright?" His gaze lingered on Damon, who gave a calm nod in agreement.
Without hesitation, Damon shifted into his dragon form, his massive body towering over them. Lucas helped Kyra climb onto Damon’s back before swiftly following her.
As soon as the warriors tossed their bags into the air, they shifted into dragons almost simultaneously, catching the bags on their backs with ease. It was a spectacle—dragons of all colors and sizes: silver, black, red, green, and even maroon. The scene was extraordinary, and Kyra couldn’t help but marvel at the sight of the majestic creatures as they began to soar gracefully in formation.
The flight lasted about an hour, with the dragons soaring effortlessly through the sky. Kyra clung tightly to Lucas and Damon as they flew higher and higher. The wind was cool and fresh, sweeping through her hair, and for a while, it felt like they were the only ones in the world. Looking below, she saw stretches of forests and rivers, with the occasional glint of sunlight on water or the rustling of leaves in the distance.
As they approached the Silver Peak Mountain, the scenery began to change. On one side, the mountain was covered in a thick, white blanket of snow. Tall, jagged peaks rose into the sky, each one dusted with snow that shimmered like silver under the sunlight. The air became colder as they neared this snowy side, and a soft mist hung in the air, giving everything a quiet, almost ethereal feeling.
The snow-covered trees were tall and dense, their branches weighed down with frost. It looked like a scene straight out of a dream—a place untouched by time, where everything seemed calm and peaceful. The ground below sparkled as if it was made of tiny diamonds, and even the air seemed to carry a magical quality, crisp and pure.
On the other side of the mountain, however, the scene was completely different. It was lush and green, with rolling hills and valleys that stretched as far as the eye could see. The rain fell softly here, creating a gentle mist that hovered above the grass and trees. The leaves were a deep, rich green, glistening with rainwater, and the entire area looked alive and thriving.
There was a sharp contrast between the two sides—one icy and mysterious, the other vibrant and full of life.
’The more beautiful it looks, the more dangerous it is," Kaia’s voice rang in Kyra’s mind. ’We need to go down the other side, or we might attract some big beasts.’ Kyra nodded her head.
As the dragons landed on the snowy side of Silver Peak Mountain, the air grew colder, and the ground became more dangerous. The snow crunched beneath their feet as the warriors got off their dragons, their breaths visible in the cold air. Even though they were strong and skilled, everyone was cautious of the dangers around them.
The leader gathered everyone and spoke firmly, "We’ll be landing on the snowy side for now. It’s safer here, but we need to stay alert. The other side is dangerous with unknown beasts. Let’s make sure everyone is ready before we start our climb down."
Kyra, listening carefully, added, "After we get to the other side, we’ll set up camp. We should find a safe place before it gets dark."
Everyone nodded in agreement. They knew the importance of setting up camp and preparing for the dangers that lay ahead.
The leader addressed everyone again with a serious tone. "Listen up, everyone. As we move forward, keep these points in mind:
First, stay close. Always stay within sight of the person next to you. If we get separated, it will be much harder to regroup.
The terrain here is unpredictable. Watch out for loose rocks and slippery ground, and be cautious with every step.
Try to minimize noise. Loud sounds could attract dangerous creatures that we want to avoid.
Before we start the descent, double-check that all your supplies are secure. We can’t afford to lose anything important.
Stay alert for any signs of trouble. If you notice anything unusual, let the group know immediately.
And if I give a command, follow it quickly and without question. It’s for your safety and the safety of everyone here."
