Chapter 336: Chapter 336 Farewell

Kyra’s breath caught in her throat. Silas’s presence, so strong and intense, made her pulse quicken. His words had been directed toward Meeko, but the deeper meaning behind them wasn’t lost on her. The weight of his gaze sent a shiver down her spine.

Vincent stepped closer, almost instinctively placing himself between Kyra and Silas, creating a slight barrier. "No need to cry, Meeko," Vincent said with a reassuring smile, though his tone was firm. "Rainbow is having a baby. You can come and play with her soon." He was almost certain it would be a girl.

Alessandro stepped forward and gently took Meeko back into his arms, his expression soft.

Lara embraced Kyra warmly. "I’ll miss you," she said softly. "My mom wasn’t able to come because of her back pain, but she sends her blessings. And take care, okay? My brother is a good male, and he’ll make sure you’re well cared for." She smiled knowingly, giving Kyra one last squeeze before stepping back.

Kyra nodded, her heart full as she exchanged a few more words with Lara.

In the background, Alessandro began conversing with the other males, ensuring everything was in place for their departure.

Oceanus, standing nearby, cast a sharp glance toward Simon, his eyes narrowing suspiciously. "You’re not coming with me?" he asked, his voice tinged with surprise.

Simon shook his head, blushing slightly as he looked at Riya, who stood beside him, her hand tightly clasped in his. "No," he said, his cheeks turning pink. "I’ve found the female I love," he added shyly, gazing at Riya with a smile.

Oceanus raised an eyebrow but smirked, amused at Simon’s flustered state. "Don’t mind me," Simon continued, apologetically. "I’ll stay here."

Oceanus chuckled lightly. "Alright, as long as you’re happy," he said, his usual Smile returning. He gave Simon a brief, approving nod before turning his attention back to the group.

Kyra hugged Riya, squeezing her gently. "Take care, Riya, and congratulations. Simon is a good male," she said with a teasing smile. Riya blushed, her cheeks turning pink, and Kyra chuckled at her reaction.

Then, for the first time, Kyra turned her attention to Silas. "So, Silas..." His name rolled off her tongue naturally, and the moment he heard it, Silas froze. He stared at her, unblinking, savoring the way his name sounded from her lips. His mind wandered, imagining how it might sound in other moments, darker thoughts clouding his gaze.

Alessandro nudged him, breaking the tension. Silas blinked and quickly regained his composure. "Yes, my love," he replied smoothly, though Kyra felt a bit uncomfortable with the intensity in his voice.

She forced a smile and asked, "Have you packed everything you need to carry with you? We’re leaving soon."

Before Silas could respond, Rowan appeared from behind, grinning. "It’s all set," he said cheerfully. "From his few clothes, spices, ignition stones, to salt—everything you all might need is packed."

Kyra glanced at the bag Rowan pointed to. It was made of leather, medium-sized, and surprisingly well-crafted. She nodded approvingly. "Thank you, Rowan. It looks perfect," she said, appreciating the thoroughness.

Silas, still watching her closely, finally tore his gaze away to look at the bag. He gave a nod of approval, though his thoughts lingered on the way Kyra had said his name. He couldn’t shake the feeling of wanting to hear it again, in a more intimate setting.

Oceanus took charge of organizing the journey, giving clear instructions. "We should take the land route. Lucas, Vincent, and I will stay on the ground. Damon and Silas, you can take the sky route. Kyra, you’ll sit behind Damon for a while, and after we rest, you can sit behind Silas. We’ll stop every five hours to make sure Little Star is comfortable. Since she is pregnant, it’s not safe for long, continuous travel. And if you feel uncomfortable, Little Star, you can always ride on Lucas’s back."

At the mention of riding Lucas’s back, Kyra’s mind immediately flashed back to the first time she had ridden him. She remembered how fast Lucas had run back then, leading to her almost getting motion sickness, and how he had mistakenly thought she was pregnant. The memory made her involuntarily glare at Lucas, who blinked in confusion, his ears twitching as he sensed her annoyance but didn’t understand why.

Lucas: ???

With the arrangements settled, Kyra finally sat behind Damon, wrapping her arms around him for support. Lucas carried Oceanus on his back, while Vincent slithered beside them in his snake form, moving with a smooth, practiced grace. Silas flew next to Damon, his wings catching the light as he flew close, but his mind was far away, lost in thoughts.

Silas was planning something. He wanted to take Kyra to his rose valley, a breathtaking, hidden place he was sure she’d fall in love with. But before that, he needed her heart to be his—more deeply than it was for the others.

As the group moved further away, Meeko in Alessandro arms, his little lips wobbling, his eyes filling with tears that slowly spilled down his cheeks. He tried to stay strong, but watching them leave made his sadness unbearable. He cried softly, and those around him, including Alessandro, Lara, and the rest of the family, couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness in their hearts too.

Back on the journey, Lucas couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling gnawing at him. Kyra’s earlier glare hadn’t gone unnoticed, and now he was replaying everything in his mind, wondering if he’d done something to upset her. He flicked his ears, still puzzled, thinking hard about what mistake he might have made. maybe he’d said something wrong? He wasn’t sure, but the idea of Kyra being mad at him made him anxious, and he was determined to fix it.

Lucas was feeling down, completely absorbed in his thoughts about Kyra being mad at him. He kept going over everything in his mind, unsure of what he could’ve done wrong. 𝒏𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝒄𝙤𝙢

Suddenly, a sharp slap landed on his back, jolting him out of his thoughts.

"Are you trying to get us killed? Look ahead, there’s a tree!" Oceanus snapped, his voice filed with frustration.

Lucas blinked, shocked, and quickly swerved to avoid the massive tree trunk looming ahead of them. His heart pounded as he realized how close they had come to crashing.

Goodness! That was close,’ he thought.
