Chapter 52: Chapter 52: You Think You Can Stop Me

Chapter 52 -52: You Think You Can Stop Me

Tang Yu snapped back to reality and immediately ran to the bed to pick up the two children, quickly entering the room next door and placing them on Li Xue’s bed.

Li Xue was startled, “What’s going on?”

“Ye Sihan is here!”

“What!” Li Xue instantly became alert.

“Don’t let him find the children! I’ll handle him!” Having said this, Tang Yu left the room and pulled the door shut behind her.

Li Xue immediately locked the door from the inside.

Just as Tang Yu reached the front door, the person outside had lost their patience and violently kicked the door open with a bang—

“Ah!” Tang Yu stepped back in fright, the door nearly rebounding on her. She looked at the man enveloped in the darkness with dread, “You… you…”

The lock on the door was broken, and the door stood ajar, with Ye Sihan appearing like a devil in the dark of the night.

His strength was terrifyingly overwhelming.

If that kick had been on Tang Yu, she wouldn’t have died but would definitely end up in the intensive care unit.

Ye Sihan stepped into the house, his dark and oppressive eyes quickly scanning the obvious living room, next to which were two rooms.

The door closer to the main entrance was open, lights on, nothing out of the ordinary.

Ye Sihan’s gaze fixed on the door of the neighboring room.

Tang Yu noticed where his attention was and felt her heart almost leap out of her throat.

With the four little ones sleeping inside, if Ye Sihan found them, everything would be over.

Seeing Ye Sihan walk towards that door, Tang Yu hurried to intercept, “There’s nothing in there, it hasn’t been cleaned, it’s very dirty, don’t go in.”

Ye Sihan looked down at her, the oppressive feeling so intense, the chill frightening, “Do you think you can stop me?”

“I… I’m not stopping you, there’s just nothing to see, my room is over there.” Tang Yu’s heart was in complete disarray, tears thinning her eyes.

“Don’t make me say it a second time.” Ye Sihan’s threatening gaze bore down like a terrifying hurricane.

Tang Yu’s fingers, clutching Ye Sihan’s sleeve, trembled, then glanced towards the room door and almost spasmodically let go.

As Ye Sihan moved closer to the door, her breath grew rapid.

Just as his distinctive, slender finger was about to touch the doorknob, at the point when Tang Yu was scared to the verge of fainting, the door opened from the inside, and Li Xue’s groggy, sleep-filled face emerged, “Tang Yu, what’s all the noise? What’s the matter…?”

Her eyes opened wide, and when she saw the shadowy figure before her, her voice caught in her throat.

Shocked at the sight of Ye Sihan’s face, her mind snapped into clarity, and her inquiring gaze shifted to Tang Yu.

“That… Mr. Ye is here to see me for some business, it’s nothing to do with you, go back to sleep.” Tang Yu moved forward to push Li Xue.

The light was off in the room, but what if the children woke up and called for Mommy?

After pushing Li Xue back in, she closed the door, blocking the front with her body as she looked at Ye Sihan, “Sister Xue came with me to the countryside, I didn’t want you to enter because she’s a woman, it wouldn’t be proper. My… my room is over there, shall we go to my room?”

Seeing Ye Sihan hesitate, Tang Yu’s heart that had been in her throat finally began to settle.

Watching Ye Sihan enter her room, she hurried to close the door behind him.

The door could be closed, but not locked; it was broken beyond use.

Tang Yu didn’t want to take Ye Sihan to her own room at all but wanted even less for him to find any sign of the children.

Following him into the room, she closed the door just to turn around when a dark figure loomed toward her, her neck gripped fiercely—

“Ugh!” Tang Yu’s back slammed against the door with a clanging sound, her slender neck at the mercy of his vise-like grip, fragile as though it couldn’t withstand a single squeeze.

“Who allowed you to come here? Did I permit it? Huh?” Ye Sihan’s eyes were full of severe coldness.

Wrapped around Tang Yu wasn’t just a dangerously powerful aura, but also a thick scent of alcohol.

Ye Sihan had smelled the alcohol when he entered the room, but the scent was faint due to the distance.

Now, it was certain that Ye Sihan had drunk quite a lot.

Ye Sihan, sober, was already terrifying enough, let alone when he had been drinking. One could not afford to disobey him in the slightest.

“I’ll return tomorrow, so… that’s why I didn’t say anything. I didn’t know you would be… unhappy…” Tang Yu said in a panic.

“Just today, huh? What a coincidence?” Ye Sihan’s face loomed so close, his voice dark and menacing.

“What do you mean by coincidence? Today is my grandfather’s death anniversary…” Tang Yu struggled to say.

She didn’t dare mention Zhao Xing’s death anniversary at all.

Deliberately saying it was her grandfather’s death anniversary, she made her situation sound similar to Ye Sihan’s.

After all, death anniversaries were such distant events; who could really know? Even she wasn’t sure of the exact day.

“When I was very young, my parents divorced. My mother didn’t want me, my father didn’t love me, I grew up with my grandfather, and he was very important to me. I couldn’t visit him while I was abroad, but now that I’m back, I can’t just not visit him.” Tang Yu said sadly.

Her eyelashes trembled slightly, betraying her anxiety and sorrow. 𝖓𝖔𝖛𝔭𝖚𝖇.𝔠𝖔𝔪

Ye Sihan stared at her unwaveringly, his piercing gaze as if trying to bore into the depths of her soul.

Tang Yu lifted her long eyelashes, met Ye Sihan’s bottomless cold eyes, and tentatively touched the arm that was choking her neck, gently, as if afraid to startle the beast, “You’ve been drinking, and I just happen to bring some honey. Shall I make you a cup of honey tea?”

Seeing that the pressure on her neck had lessened, she slowly pulled the hand away.

Tang Yu turned to prepare the honey water for him.

Once in the kitchen, her taut nerves relaxed, and her legs almost gave way, nearly making her fall.

Through the window, she could see a car parked outside the door.

Because it was darker outside, its silhouette was visible.

From a distance, it truly resembled a lurking beast, enough to make one’s heart race with fear.

Tang Yu was truly panicked by Ye Sihan’s unexpected appearance.

She was caught in an inescapable situation.

After making the honey water, she returned to the room.

Ye Sihan sat on the edge of the bed, legs casually crossed. His tall figure was oppressive even while seated.

Tang Yu noticed that Ye Sihan’s gaze was fixed on the black cat toy of Xibao on the bed; she couldn’t help but feel nervous, for that was his beloved daughter’s toy, and his four children were right next door!

She steadied her emotions before approaching, “I like to sleep with a toy. Mr. Ye, the lemon water is ready, nicely warmed.”

Ye Sihan withdrew his gaze and turned his face towards her, looking at her indifferently.

Tang Yu felt her heart flutter, wondering if he had noticed something amiss.

“I thought you said honey water?”

Tang Yu realized she was so nervous that she had confused lemon water with honey water and hadn’t even noticed her mistake.

Nevertheless, she breathed a sigh of relief inwardly.

“Sorry, I misspoke, it’s honey water. Please drink, Mr. Ye.” Tang Yu offered with both hands.

Ye Sihan gave her a cold glance and took the cup.

After he had taken a few sips and put down the cup, Tang Yu asked, “Do you… want to sleep here? You can have the bed; I’ll squeeze in with Sister Xue.”

Ye Sihan fixed her with a cold and ferocious stare, “The day isn’t over yet, and you’re trying to run away?”

Before Tang Yu could react, a force pulled her over—

“Ah!” The world spun, and Tang Yu found herself falling onto the bed, her body stiff with shock, her pupils reflecting the looming figure above her. “Mr. Ye, what are you doing?”
